Awesome stuff Regnak, I love the grittiness of your troopers and vehicles. It screams "We are hardcore" to me. Hope you feel better, both for your sake, and so we can see more of your DKOK

Thanks again... was wondering when you would comment

Been thinking over stuff you sent me. Was thinking of the dying trooper as an objective marker, was thinking of doing a nice base with barbwire and maybe a "Danger: Minefield" sign or something. For the little guy carrying stuff... I had a great idea.... but would be LOADS of work... would be something I do down the line once more of my troops are up and running and ~I don't even know if the little skills I have could carry it off.... its being kept under wraps as I don't want to spoil anything. Only hint is that it wouldn't be a playable piece, more of a diorama... a complicated one

Now youre making me feel guilty!!

The mindfield sounds cool, and youve got me all worked up, i wanna know now!! (jk, just work on it whenur ready, even if its a complicated diorama im sure youve got the skils to pull it off!)

Oh yeah, forgot to say im not feeling the bronze on th hf either. I sometimes think: Screw this composition lark, if i paint everything the colour it should be itll be fine.... right? If you want it to pop, not really sure what to replace the colour with. what about a purple/yllow heat glazed silver like in IA:Masterclass?

Yeah, not too happy with that part either. Should be getting the IA:Masterclass for xmas so will have a look and try some of the stuff in there. Hoping to use this for my Ragnarok also

You'll be the first to know about the diorama sir

Looking good! The commissars cape looks very realistic. (good luck with painting all those troops!)

BTW, IA:Masterclass is fantastic! Most of the paint techniques use things like an airbrush, oil paints, weathering powders and other such items so you might want to look into getting some of them to get the same results. (it also has a tutorial on how to make dioramas )

As with most things.... by accident!

Used Graveyard Earth and once dry a heavy wash of Devlan Mud which you kinda move around on helmet/armour to make certain areas darker than reset. Then once dry some boltgun metal chips. Simple as that.

Thanks again guys for comments. Very much appreciated. Working next 4nights so no updates till after then :(

Great looking engineers. Though the more you look at them the stumpier they get, but thats the sculpt.

The finish on the armour is really good, looks like they've been fighting in the wastelands for years.

Looking awesome as always. Have you got enough stuf painted for a respectable group shot yet? (or failng that, just assembled) Would love to see how your stuff looks collectively!

And, you've gotta love devlan mud! I consistently find a way to smother it on my models, works wonders! (well, any wash really, but devlan does the donkey work best i find!)

This is by no means all my DKOK, but here is a small group shot of some of the finished and nearly finished models. Got lots of figures that are not even undercoated yet or that just have he jacket colour done. I was going to take a picture of everything then my camera decided to die on me.. tainted by Chaos!!!

Hope you like it Vitruvian?

Sure!
First a coat of Boltgun metal. Then a wash of Badab Black. Pick out certain areas again with boltgun metal. Lastly paint the bits you want a more extreme highlight with Mithril Silver. Simple as that!
