i think i´ve seen this plaster in a DIY shop once...seeing how usefull and resourceful this is it might be a good investion...by the way is the diorama, the hill and bridge all plaster or is there another material for general substructere underneath it all...needless to say i am stunned by your work...bet your mind is again bubbling with new ideas^^
honesty i think you'd be good with a good gritty look some dark greens and browns would look good on this tank

There is much truth in this statement. Coming from playing historicals it took me a bit to warm up to 40k but after I realized this I enjoyed it a lot more. Epic look ftw!
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.
Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.

herc definatly should take after it´s father...epic paintjob...you know you want to do it...also i remember how you did all those skulls on the hull...this will be the zen work of painting then^^ ----ooooommmmmm----
@Vik - well genius or insanity, it all depends who you ask
Well, I pretty much completed the build, adding antennae, damage, and some road signs
(If you look very close, you may be able to see the 3 bugs under the bridge)
Then I primed everything
and started to paint the landscape - according to the fluff for the Dencara system, the landscape is pretty Marsian.
You can also see, that I left the area under the brdige considerably darker.
Then I painted the lava and added a bit of OSL shine
Then the bridge and road received its paint
and finally I started the bugs
As you can see, I'm aiming for a wasp-like paint scheme.
I hope you like it. As usual you can find a lot more images (36) and details in my blog. C&C welcome and appreciated.
Cheers
klaus
So did you deceide on a paint scheme for the Herc? I'm on the edge of my seat here
Always a pleasure to catch up on this thread!
Keep it up!

Hey Rawson,
sorry, I forgot to mention I *think* I've decided on a paint scheme, but am not 100% sure yet....
That's why I started with the terrain first, so I can adjust the HERC's paint accordingly.
But most likely I will go with a yellowish German WWII-3-color-Ambush scheme...
Looks really good Klaus. From just looking at your build I had no idea what to expect in the scene as far as painting went... but I really love the way it's looking. The tile on the roadway, the lava... it all comes together just beautifully.
Anvildude: "Honestly, it's kinda refreshing to see an Ork vehicle that doesn't look like a rainbow threw up on it."
your nids look seriously scary! and the terrain was amazing when unpainted... sadly i have to say it looks now different...as in totally amazing^^ lava stream with osl is top notch... one day...(might be longer than i want to...) i plan to make a lava board for gaming purposes...then i will have to recheck your step by step...
i hope you are getting good work done on the herc... you certainly have wet my appetite for some new painted super heavy tank^^
