its not 6E.....its a new space marine chapter known only by its roman number ex legion number. this is a chapter that was long lost in the warp from the ill fated sixth legion. they finally get a new codex on the 23, and have the stormtalon, stormraven, and Sc to make calgar and dante look like chumps. plus everything is 50% cheaper and 50% more killey then normal marines.

I just find it absolutely nuts that this is perhaps 2 weeks away and the game has had absolutely zero marketing beyond the video. There was even an advert for AoBR in the last WD, which would be a great way to instantly lose a customer if some kid buys that right before a new version is released.

Well, this kind of policy allows GW to save money at the adverisement side.

It also allows GW to save money on resources and warehouse space, because they sell only half the number of products they could have sold with average marketing, not to speak of good marketing

I'll go ahead and state the bleedin' obvious. He's not being serious. This is 6th edition. No doubt about that. I've been playing since 2nd and im expecting the book to be 40 quid. I cant believe the lack of promotion and marketing regarding the subject tbh. I'll keep an eye on what Ltd editions they offer and if none of them appeal i doubt ill pick it up on release. Ill get it from a discount store and only once i've done a load of research. It would be a shame if 6th was my jumping off point as i have every edition so far, but i have little faith in GW these days...

Not a clue yet, normally they do a gamers edition which includes dice, templates and the like comes in a tin, and a collectors edition which is a fancy rulebook that costs twice as much. Time will tell whether this edition will be the same. I'd expect pics around the 20th

How much is 40 quid? I am Canadian, so no idea how much that would be converted.

agreed. In games workshop 40 quid there, is probably roughly equal to 90 bucks here in oz.

I suspect the US version will be $75 to $100.

What was the 40K 5th rulebook priced at?

I was wondering the same thing. I can't remember what the 5th was priced at, I jsut know that I will get a deal only slightly better than aus, becuase somehow its better to ship to NZ than Aus. Good thing I've been saving!

Thanks guys. I know I paid $100 box for the BRB but that came with the small metal army case that came with it. I expect it to be $100 Canadian now for the Big Rule Book for 6th. Sadly that would be like $150 for our Aussie buddies. :(

So herpaderp about the WHEN it's coming out has already essentially been established, has anyone come across any "and this is what the rules will be" that are actually reputable? (apart from BoW's little video series they were running for a while there).

I wouldn't knock the price of the books too much, yes they are pricey but they are generally good quality (although the proof reading and QA isnt as rigorous as i would like) it'll be interesting to see if this one ships without any major mistakes....

If you were lucky. $150 bio textbook in college, went to trade it in at the end of the semester and was offered $0.50. I offered them the finger instead.

Slightly on topic, got my 8th edition hardcover for $35, brand new. Of course the store was going out of business, ran a discount on all product already, and then ran a further 40% off for the closing sale. Brought it to less than half off, still in package. I miss that store... I did appreciate the $35 dollar book, $25 bloodcrusher box and $23 predator and vindicator though.

Fully on topic-I expect to see the new 6th edition book cost the same as the current fantasy rulebook, complete with special editions such as parchment paper with a metal clasp, special collectors edition templates, dice, the kit and the caboodle.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Well I serpose we all have our "interesting" comments don't we....

points at self.

But I do seem to see a trend between unconstrustive and trolly posting by people with low post counts. I have seem some great examples of people with lower post counts delivering great work too. I advise that everyone should take any comment with some salt and do a little reasearch before posting. also, don't take it personal.

case in point. this thread.http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/454647.page#4383973
