Picked up a Mordor Battlehost for cheaps. It's the perfect start to the Angmar army I've been wanting to do for a while.

My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

I had so much fun building a city wall out of bastion kits I went ahead and ordered a Fortified Manor to convert into some sort of Imperial manor house. With heavy bolters sticking out windows of course.

Got the old Middle-earth Fall of the Necromancer sourcebook for the piddly amount of $15. Did miss out though on a bunch of cheap minis the guy had that I needed. So swings and roundabouts.

Just got $15 voucher from GW, which of course won't even pay for dice.

I might get one or two of the overpriced Necromunda resin characters that will never paint...

Someone I know got a $25 voucher because it was a year since he first used the new website, so he says.

Wasn't a purchase I was looking to make just yet, but I grabbed Fangs of the Blood Queen and Zondaras Gravebreakers. Online resellers seem to be no longer getting Fangs, and it's a good deal on the Bats/Wolves. Gravebreakers well... because you can never have too many necromancers.

I'm quite willing to let mine expire if the new Squats don't come out in time, or the new Underworlds box. They'll hopefully be my next Game Purchases.

Don't look at the voucher as being insufficient to cover the price of a product, look at it as a coupon code for an "online only" item of your choice. $15 off a $30 item is effectively a 50% discount, off a $45 item is a $33% discount, etc. You will almost never get a deal that good anywhere else.

Picked up some Living Dead Peasants, which are very nice.
Also got some Albion Knights Pegasus riders. Unfortunately, I didn't realise the Pegusi are resin, not great quality either. Ah well, they were cheap for 4 of them and I can clean them up, but disappointing.

Bonus, I got 4 more cloaks in the kit, so my Grey Company will be easier to upgrade with Elladan and Elrohir converted from Oathmark Elves.

Is that the Fireforge kit you're talking about? What's your opinion on them? I've had them on my to get list for a while now.

Yeah. My opinion is they're very nice peasant zombies, six different bodies, some male some female, and a variety of arms and heads, grasping hands and weapon hands (I prefer grasping myself but the option is good).

Up to now I had liked the Mantic Zombies, and I still do like them, but these guys have a lot more character I think.

Bought a second hand (it looks like it's a 302nd hand) copy of the 2nd Edition of Age of Darkness Rulebook.

Now I can finally read the rules and no longer make vague guesses based on what I remember from 7th edition 40k.

A single oop all metal Legion Of The Damned melta gunner.

After a few ages I pulled the little case I keep this squad in out of storage for an upcoming game -
And found a note I'd written to myself back in.... 2008ish?
"Replace lost melta gunner asap"

I got a good chuckle from that.
I don't think I was envisioning a 16 year lag time when I wrote that....

I like the grasping hands too. It's what had attracted them to me, aside from the fact they match GW's previous zombie kit quite nicely, and unlike GW's current zombie kit, isn't prohibitively expensive (or essentially monopose).

Up to now I had liked the Mantic Zombies, and I still do like them, but these guys have a lot more character I think.
I wasn't familiar with the Mantic zombies. They look fine, but very limited in poses. To the point where even after looking at them for 30 seconds, it was incredibly noticeable.
Still, a smattering of them among some GW and Fireforge zombies would be fine.

Yeah, they'd mix in well in a larger horde but the pose variety isn't great. En masse they look fine at tabletop distance, but I wanted these peasant zombies for more skirmish gameplay where the individual poses would stand out more (also I have my Mantic Zombies on 20mm squares and am gonna do these on 25mm circles).

Working on my 40 Mantic zombies tonight as it happens.

So I decided not to use my $15 voucher to get overpriced resin I will never, ever paint, and instead got 2 terrain kits since there's a better than 50/50 chance I will paint it.

Realmshaper Engine and Middle Earth Ruins, both to be repurposed for 40k.

I just bought some neosporin and more bandaids as I decided to test the sharpness of an exacto knife by accident.

The good news is that my thumb is now free of mould lines.
