Inspired by Vent's fantastic macro photography tutorial:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/317430.page

I decided to have a go at photographing one of my Space Wolves dreads, paying close attention to the photography hints and tricks. I haven't built myself a light box just yet but that is next on the agenda. Unfortunately, I cannot take the credit for the fantastic paintjob on my SW army as it was bought from ebay but kudos to whoever did it; you did a sterling job!

Quite happy with how the photography turned out (although I confess to using Photoshop to crop and white balance afterwards but that is mainly due to my camera being one of these 'Intelligent Auto' point and click jobs where you can't really alter the settings too much; rather, rely on the camera to make the correct decision).

Edit: Also, I used slightly different settings for top and bottom pics, as you can tell, so please let me know which you think is better and why!

I really like it man. The painting and picture too. I've just aquired this model, and it's sitting and waiting for such a time as I gain some skills. Good work wolf bro.

Thought I would share some more pics. These were taken in my home made light box, in my conservatory on a sunny day in the absence of any lighting. I will be buying a couple of cheap desk lamps fur use soon.

Why does his Crozius (which would make him a Wolf PRIEST BTW ) have a gravity defying Wolf Tail and Purity Seal?

Aw, come on Grimtuff... haven't you ever heard of an updraft?? Clearly the Wolf Lord is standing on the precipice of a great chasm where the winds howl up the slope, making purity seals and wolf tails fly skyward!

Errr .... *blush*

It fell off as I was setting up the pic and I glued it back upside down

Also, I know he is a Wolf Priest but I use him as a Wolf Lord in my list

Not sure what's funnier... the gravity defying dangles or your explanation for them! LOL Either way... nice job filbert!
