They'll find out. Medical technology in SW is far greater than the Imperium's.
Star Wars won't find out about Genestealer untill its too late.
Star Wars method of FTL is super fast. meaning the Genestealers can spread extremely quickly.
a full fledged Genestealer cult takes several generations to become detectable. the 1st hosts have nothing wrong with them and go about their lives.
the 2nd generation will have some genestealer characteristics, but in a galaxy of many alien species it won't be noticed and its parents are under mind control to care for the offspring.
the 3rd generation is where things start going south and the Cult begins to become aggressive.
during this time, the Genestealers will have been able to infiltrate the whole Star Wars galaxy. possably within the 1st few months.
if it was just a few cults on a few planets it wouldn't be so bad. that would be containable, but because of the ability for the Genestealers to move extremely rapidly(unlike in 40k where they can spend months or years in transit) they will infest nearly every planet within the span of a few months.
then the Hive Mind arranges for the Cults to attack almost simultainiously accross the whole galaxy. the Galaxy will splinter in a matter of days.

If a cult became aggressive, they'd immediately be studied, and given the level of technology in SW, it wouldn't be long before their entire life cycle was understood.

try studying a cult with millions of members per planet that is becoming agressive accross every planet in the galaxy.
you would barely have time to regester that you are being attacked.
you also assume that the Genestealer cult members arn't in charge of something important. it isn't unknown for entire PDF regiments and governors to be Cultists. the same could happen to star wars.

The 1st generation(the ones the Genestealers implant) is completely undetectable.
40k also has incredibly advanced medical technology, at least for the privileged. even it can't detect Genestealers.

It does.
but this alteration can easily be hid. the host could put off medical exams or the change may simply not be seen as a problem.
the host is under the complete control of the Hive Mind and, if in a powerful position, easily hide his nature.

No its more like trying to detect something that doesn't involve DNA we are talking about a parasite inside the body that cannot be detected.

If there is a physical or mental change (there are both) it can be detected. They may be able to hide the results but a scan will pick up something unusual. Becoming a stealer hybrid isn't a parasite it's a genetic change. SW tech could easily be pick this up. Jedi can read minds- they would spot a hybrid without any problems.
If kroot can smell hybrids (they can- there is fluff about them refusing to eat anything genestealer related because they know something in their DNA is agressive and will take over) then SW technology can detect them.

Yes because Jedi have enough jedi to peform hundreds of billions of medical exams. Get off the fan train. And look at this realisitcally speaking. Jedi can't do everything -.-

a Jedi might, but only if he knew to look(and he would be touching the Hive Mind. something VERY dangerous to do)
the Medical scans might detect something, but they might not know what it is.
if they do find out its an Alien Life form then they might just leave it alone(they don't know its a threat yet)
its also a genetic change. you can't exactly treat it.

Indeed
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Genestealers
Complete Cycle of a Genestealer Cult.
Purii
A full Genestealer starts the infection cycle by inserting their genetic material into a host victim. As the infestation spreads and the cult grows, the first Genestealer takes the role of a Genestealer Patriarch and often grows larger into an obese and psychic monstrosity.4
Infection Generation- Contagii
The host victims, or Contagii, return to their own societies and begin to have an urgent need to find a mate and begin a family. This mate also becomes infected with Genestealer DNA.6 Contagii still physically resemble other members of their species, though they may have a slight blue or muave pallor to their skin and can be psychically controlled by the Patriach to become mindless slaves, making them the perfect infiltrators.3
1st Generation - Maelignaci
As the contagii mate, the Genestealer genetic material passes onto their offspring, the Maelignaci. The Maelignaci are animals, slow, clumsy and moronic. Within the cult they generally regarded as expendable shock troops.4 They often possess three or even four arms, and are unable to use their host species technology or weaponry.6
2nd Generation - Hybrid
The Hybrid offspring of the Maelignaci are born unique with no two alike. However this generation can be selectively breed, using their parents like live-stock, and is often manipulated for traits such speed, strength or aggression.4 They bear more resemblance to their host species than a Genestealer, but are still unable to use their host's technology.6
3rd Generation - True Hybrid
The next generation are True Hybrids and can be mistaken for a member of their host species, if they wear disguising clothes, or stay in dark areas, etc. Some of this generation are capable of using weapons of their host species.6
4th Generation - Primacii
The fourth generation, the Primacii, are almost indistinguishable from their host species, only with slight physical deformities. Some still sport give-away signs such as being bald 6. They are able to blend in to the host society and work to lure, kidnap, or do whatever it takes to provide more hosts.3 Some rare individuals of this generation have psychic powers and become a Genestealer Magus.6
5th Generation - Purii
Paradoxically, the Genestealer's DNA reemerges in the fifth generation, giving birth to a full Genestealer, albeit one showing some physical characteristics of the host species.1 Thus the cycle can begin anew, as the new Genestealers have the potential to infiltrate other worlds and become a Patriarch.

You can't treat it but genetic changes are riduculously easy to detect. While they are unknown Stealer cults would be a threat but once SWs knows they need to be destroyed finding them won't be hard. Organisations in SWs are much more efficient than in 40k. Organising large scale tests isn't so difficult for them. While jedi can't help in every occasion once a cult has been found they could investigate it easily. They don't have to confront the Hivemind to be able to notice that the individuals thoughts are not right (besides confronting it psychically is bad but reading their mind with the force may have compleely different results). The way tyrands think is very different to other species. Much more instinct than ration thinking. They would have a much harder time hiding in the SWs setting. In the IoM leaders can get away with anything as long as they don't annoy someone higher up. In SW this isn't so much the case. If a population notices their leader acting funny and refusing to comply they can actually do something about it. If a planet just cuts of communication people will notice fast.
While dangerous in their own right stealer cults aren't a galactic threat by themselves- they just call tyranids. If the main tyranid force is destroyed cults are more of a nuisance than a threat.

detect yes, think its a threat untill too late. no.
it would be like this,
they detect the Genestealer alterations. Host person is healthy otherwise and is let go. others with a similer condition are logged, but let go and allowed to exist. this happens accross the entire galaxy.
the Hive Mind takes advantage of this and continues to expand the cults.
then, when every world/threatening place is infiltrated with Cultists, the Hive Mind gives the signel.
Billions of Cultists rapidly take over every infected planet in a lightining quick strike. defense forces are caught completely off guard. resistance is limited.
then the Hive Fleet proper rolls around and noms each and every planet(now infested by genestealers)

And you are wrong, the nids would learn about this and the starwars fleets would be spread out big time, and they are not fighting at the speed of light they need to get up close and personnel like in almost every single starwars movie and video game they have to get up close and their shields are horrible and then they are slaughtered, the tyranids would break through their ships like paper.

Or, detect alterations, take samples. Fight Hive Fleet, takes samples. Find match, annihilate cults.
Once again, you're also ignoring the scenario in question.
Genestealers have different DNA then other Nid organisims.
it took the Imperium, who was taking samples and running tests, several hundred years to figure out that Genestealers were a Tyranid subspecies.
there isn't a species Tyranid with different castes.
a Carnifex has different DNA then a Gaunt.
a Genestealer would be a mixture of all the sapient species its bloodline had infested.
they wouldn't be also to detect the connection.

Yeah, it's clear that you've abandoned things like grammar and spelling so you can spew nonsense lie this. Everything about that is wrong, and if you took the time to read the thread, you'd know why.
I'm done. If you two want to continue and ignore just about every piece of evidence you've brought forth being refuted, be my guest. If you had decent reasons why the Tyranids would win, I would listen. It wouldn't bruise my ego to say "oh, hey, yeah, they'd steamroll the SW universe." Instead, you keep ignoring everything brought to this thread so you can bump chests and say "OMG, TYRANIDS ONNOMNOMNOM WE R THE BEST!"

the Genestealers have been proved to be unstopable by Star Wars. Nids win due to a pacified galaxy.

You Know I am space marine player right? I hate nids. They are my least favorite race. And no the Tyranids would break through their lines like tissue paper the tyranids would monitor you don't give them credit at how intelligent they are. And you ignored my comments before, calling me a fanboy is not a good idea, I love starcraft more than I like 40k. Zerg= Nids. Zerg slaughter the entire planets around them and are unstoppable, very much like the nids where they keep moving foward and really don't give ground the entire Terran Fleet is decimated same with the Protoss Fleet.

Still, the Hive fleets in 40k were only destroyed by sacrifice of half of Segmentum fleet ( not to mention Dominus Astra blowing up it's engines ), and almost entire Eldar Craftworld. And fleets in SW are stretch across entire galaxy, so there will be no enough ships to halt them for long. And just for the record guys, Star Wars galaxy is actually bigger than our own. Can't remember where I heard that but it was said that this info comes from the fluff. Ah here it is: 120.000 Lioght Years ( milky way is 100.000 ), but we have slightly more stars ( 500 billion, SW galaxy have 400 ).

Who said anything about the Death Star? its kinda irrelevent when we bring super weapons into the equation. they have what I call the God effect. they are so powerful that only divine intervention could possably stop them. they are thus unacceptable for practical debate.
and I hope that was Sarcasim for my Bioplasma comment. we seriously have NO way of calculating that.
Going to show that the ship hit by a single asteroid even died, or are you now trying to make up extra ships getting hit?
No, the Republic has it and would use it against the Nids thus the DS is fair game.

Not really that was after the clone wars. This is during the clone wars at the very beginning. So *BANG*

considering the hologram showed the captain flinching before he died and the fact the bridge wasn't there after impact suggests the ship was crippled.
The Republic can't use something that was infiltrated by Genestealers in the moment of its creation.
and considering every one of the planets will be in complete chaos due to said Genestealers basically results in the repiblic having just enough time to say "What the h..." before the stealers take over completely.

No the Eclipse was destroyed because they had no more crew to pilot it, the entire bridge was destroyed, if that happens your pretty muched analed.
Sorry, but the Firespray is a civilian law enforcement vessel, Slave I was modified but even as a guard for a non-military prison it would still be a civilian ship. Also we have examples of civilian freighters having weapons mounted to them and this being common practice so having some level of defensive weapons is clearly common.
Gameplay isn't, by Lucas Arts own canon policy admissible as evidence in a debate, the events of the games story are however. Also, in TIE fighter you can double up the shields on a TIE Defender and plow through even shielded fighters.
First, it was the Executor. Second the rebel fleet poured fire into it knocking the bridge shields out, had they not the A-Wing would have hit a shield and exploded doing no damage. This killed the ship because the secondary bridge couldn't regain control before the ship plowed into the DSII.
