On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Very true about the naming conventions ced1106! Sure it must have helped the KS get as much money as it did in such a short period of time, and when that was cancelled the Lanzanos crowd funder. It's got massive cross-demographic appeal, that's for sure.

Will be interesting now whether it does get to be fully distributed, certainly outside of the EU. I hope for the sake of the 'man on the street' who has pledged their money to this that it can slip under the radar, as it were, and the backers at least can get their copy of the game even if the legal dogs are starting to sniff around it. (can you tell I'm not too keen on this whole lawsuit business, haha?! )

Although I never expected GZ just to disappear. They've released some fantastic fantasy minis over the years, which I have a fair collection of, and this was actually one of the strongest plus-points of the project for me.

Without wanting to get bogged down in legal rubbish, the cast for that spider looks gorgeous!

The body under the sheet looks amazing as well. Fingers crossed everything will look this great.

Neither of those are casts... Their just 3d renders.

Has GZ released any more casts yet? I can't find the mold of the barbarian posted on HeroQuest.es, and I heard the bookshelf they showed in a video had problems with it? Thanks in advance.

fwiw, A sculptor's website shows renders for HQ and other companies alongside their produced miniatures, so he has enough experience to make proper renders. However, his last HQ updates were in April, and last blog post May. Weird.

That looks absolutely awesome, and a really original style for something like that - nice to see someone trying to do something different to the hammer horror-type vampire that gets killed by Peter Cushing. Hopefully they will be able to pull off the sculpt!

Is it an actual casting or render? The rest of the artist's gallery are all renders. On his 2013 gallery, I'm seeing the chibi mini's that appeared in an Impact Miniatures miniatures KS, so it looks like he knows how to create a render that can become a sculpt. You can see miniatures from his renders on the IM website: http://www.impactminiatures.com/index.php?option=chibi

We saw bins-o-mini's in that slideshow from the GZ presentation awhile back. Let's see the actual mini's!

As fro the legal stuff, the quotes from the previous page give me fresh hope that I will get my copy in the UK.

If I were in Spain no problems, in the rest of Europe slight worries but diminished enough, in the US I would not be so hopeful.

Has anybody else had trouble messaging them on http://www.heroquestclassic.com/contact-form/?

I was trying to ask when/how/if they're running the rules beta? The site says it should run from sept-oct, and they've lost over a week of that time already. Last time I messaged them on there they were quick in getting back to me, but I can't get the page to work now.

Perhaps GameZone want to avoid potential hassle that will ensue of the rules beta goes ahead.

It looks like the project is actually being done and while beta feedback would be nice if its Heroquest it will have a fairly shallow ruleset anyway.

Gamezone however are not good for comms, they don't even talk much ij Spanish, but they do talk and are obviously active.

Chin up, it's a hard wait.

So, they've already got a load of the scenery cast and sitting in boxes from what I can see - that's way more impressive and further along than I'd thought they'd be.

I'm starting to get a little bit hopeful now!

The large volume of stuff we see also tells us they are making production, not just prototypes.

Finished single items in containers but not multiple container by component looks like they are doing a first run of all the backers copies, plus possibly some local extras.

I agree with Chillreaper this looks very promising that at least GameZone are trying to fulfill the ledges received.

Thank you for the link.

Another bonus for us Britishers, if distribution outside of Spain does get halted.. depending on where they are being produced in Spain, I would probably hop on a plane to go and get my stuff, it's so damned cheap for the flights.

Might even help with some of the vitamin D deficiency if it is over the winter

Any ideas what the third tiny picture is meant to be?

The completely straight smooth edge to the desk looks a bit out of place, but everything else looks great. Nice to see that they're cracking on with production.

Has anyone sorted out when GZ plans to send out the shipping rebate vouchers?

I get a feeling we are not going to hear a peep from them until after the game is shipped, which is probably the most prudent thing for them to do.

Apparently Gamezone do exactly the same offer with the shipping on their other minis. So I'm sure anyone that has bought from them before will know how/when it happens.

I, however, am not one of those people.

Some news from Andresito who visited Gamezone.

original post: http://www.heroquest.es/index.php?topic=10216

In short:

Still scheduled for December 2014 (subject to 3rd parties hitting deadlines) everything produced inhouse in Spain, scenic effects (rock falls, stairway entrance to dungeon, etc.) will be tinited plastic not resin, bases are in transparent plastic, box will be a similar size to the recent Space Hulk release.

The rules will not be available in pdf before release - they are planning some form of presentation to cover the rules but no more details on that yet.

edited highlights (Google translate)

1. To my pleasant surprise, not all the game pieces will be manufactured in polyurethane resin, but scenic effects (rock falls, stairway entrance to dungeon, etc.) and hard bases PLASTIC be high quality, the first tinted and second transparent. I could throw a couple of these pieces on the floor and see how distorted or not at all indentaban after being hit, being light and stiff in hand, and showing a great level of detail. The stands include a discreet logo HQ, it will look when placed on a white background but I think that may be noticeable on a tile color. Yes, I have my doubts about the appearance of transparent bases after several games, which have other manufacturers tend to be scratched easily. But that does not spread the Panrico, if you're not convinced, is as easy as painting.

2. Some traps will not occupy a full tile and the old HQ, but is placed between two cells and activated by passing our unwary heroes. I have seen a pair of prototypes and were simply brutal.

3. The thumbnail wizard was less convinced me all shown to date. After having it in hand, I have to declare myself a founding member of the Fan Club Hon. Mr. Wizard HQ 25th. I've seen some completed and molding process, such as barbarian showed in his last video thumbnails. If I remember correctly, and there has been all the scenery: wardrobes, thrones, lecterns, sarcophagi with their inserts and tombstones (the facelift they have done to the gentleman is to remove his hat), torture racks and more things to remember right now. I have seen the renders before passing through the 3D printer vampire, both lying on his sarcophagus / shrine / whatever as awakened from its slumber with very bad temper. A superb miniatures. Dionisio told me how much she wanted to get realistically simulate a shroud on the above, and I think the effect is very accomplished. I have seen 3D impressions of Heroquest goblins, a little more proportionate and realistic nosed goblin classic we all know and ragged update. You've convinced me, although I understand that others prefer more hyperrealistic or animaloid. The orcs, and in general all the thumbnails in this possible, they have areas on which to fit the hollow ends of the arms, to give greater freedom to assemble and to have more different positions.

4. As happens with so many other fans, my beginnings in this thumbnail back to puberty, so I have experience in working with them. That is why after seeing discarded boxes where they considered defective thumbnails can safely say that Gamezone has some exemplary quality standards for the industry in which we operate, discarding thumbnails with absolutely minimal imperfections. And to top it off, all burrs are removed and fireplaces thumbnails before being packaged, so that the backer absolutely perfect for thumbnails with no extra effort. It is a widespread practice among leading companies in the industry and speaks volumes about the care with which Gamezone works.

5. The dice roll motion and have a much more satisfying aspect (from my perspective) in the 3D images published, who had not finished to convince me. A total of about five rolls two dice, got a hit, so I think we can safely say that meet your goal: you may get a fumble or a success, but unlikely. As the movement has already been completed, combat dice are still in the design process, and will not have anything to envy to those of the old school. They'll be really evocative.

6. The character sheets symbols and numbers are less than those of Descent, with impressive graphics, midway between comic and traditional painting (although pulling over for the second, I would say), like art or Pathfinder but Descent to my taste much better. I did not have too many hopes about it but I've had a pleasant surprise. Discs were told to count points for incorporating health and mind appeared in the prototype I saw, the first on the Right and red and the second to the Left. and blue, if I remember correctly. The printed record corresponded to a "Monster Hunter" African look very cool with a spear like the top of a pine tree, which shows that they are already working on developing the fifteen heroes including levels 2 and 3.

7. I could see the backs of certain letters of treasures, magic, etc., some of which date from the beginning of crowdfunding, and that work continues. I'm sure it will delight all fans, especially the more specialized peers in games. Those who have invested in this project just for this type of material can rest assured, will go without a hitch.

8. Dionisio wants HQ25th box and have a thickness similar to some gothic-futuristic and recently reissued claustrophobic game over. So be prepared. He has also requesting mented generate scripts for rules and missions quality and visually appealing.

9. Although the creative process is performed at home by contracted artists, the entire production of the thumbnails is held in his workshop in Seville, from 3D prototyping and casting masters of metal, to the creation of the resulting molds make the final shot in resin. There is constant feedback between both parties to update and improve the design of the components of the HQ 25th, with a good taste, attention to detail and desire for improvement worthy of mention.

10. All materials and equipment used in this project from the boxes where the thumbnails are stored in the workshop to machine 3D printing, except resin miniatures are of Spanish manufacture, and Gamezone is hiring or creating jobs throughout our country. Without going any further, the workshop had working overtime, a rule of thumb, a thirteen

11. The delivery date of the product remains in December, but Dionisio is aware that third parties hired may have delays and have their own "time-checks" so to speak for some time to predict these delays. 're not everyone nor are those who are: I'm sure I left things in the pipeline, but I do not remember most interesting data right now. If you need to specify in more detail something you just have to tell me.

Thanks Dave. It's a shame about the rules testing, but everything else seems really positive. Only 3 months left before we find out if they can back up all of the talk.

I must say I'm not impressed with how quiet Gamezone have been. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have heard anything since the crowd funding closed. But if everything arrives on time, to the standard they suggest then all of that will be forgiven.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Good, no rules testing means little time for anyone to raise a legal complaint before goods have been shipped.

Gamezone has rights for Spain, but right beyond Spain will be problematic.

I suspect in the end this game will only retail in Spain and countries directly trading with Spain where Hasbro has negligible legal presence. But by the time a legal challenge has been formulated some stock will be on its way, you cant backdate a legal demand so stock in transit at the time of the C&D can be delivered if its correctly timestamped.

So by showing as little as possible until after backers have been shipped to may well preempt any action against backers.

I would not be surprised if the backers goods start to arrive quietly before any official release. The first reviews we might see are our own look at the final product.

Just a theory anyway.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
