Hello, I just wanted to register for some services out of Dakka^2.
First got into 40k when I was but a patron at my town's wargaming store around 2000. Been playing Magic the Gathering an awful lot before and after, yet I did manage to start a little blue marine collection (third edition). Being young and foolish, I bought Tau while in college and didn't play more than 25 games against my only gaming friend's Eldar. I kept my collections and within the last year have been wanting to drag them all out.
After moving and finding a "new" store, I have sought to participate and follow through with certain aspects of the hobby. Namely, I need to paint my dudes beyond the primer coat. Beyond that, I seek lessons in tactics, comradery, and good trading.
When I was younger I remember reading dakka^2 and thinking it was an Ork only website...  Guess I was wrong

Thats correct. I left Jacksonville a little before it ended up closing. The store itself introduced me to WH40k but I never actually played warhammer there. I thought it was a much better M:TG store as I rather liked their pre-releases/release events. First knew of it at Atlantic near the Doll House/BKHS, then University across from Lubi's, to the final location at University and Beach near Radioshack.
I do look back on the good number M:TG memories had there.. RIP War Dogs. (Before War Dogs, I semi-freq Dragon's Tales or Jack & Shelleys for Mirrodin sealed.) Borderlands was a nice store yet I didn't really visit it, even if it was the closest to me. (Heard about it late.)
Frederick Maryland is where I now roam. Looking to get back into tabletop games, even if I'm bad at them. What I liked most about 40k were building vehicles kits.
