Hello dakkadakka, I'm bored at work and thought I would asvertise myself. I have been playing 40k since about 1998 and I gotta say it has been a heck of an experience. I started as a SW player at 10, switched to SM Raptors at 12,Switched to Tau at 18, Then to Eldar at 20, then back to Tau at 22, and now I have started IG .

I take an odd approch to the game from most players. I prefer to screw with my opponents head with complicated mini strategies hidden deep in my lists. I almost never make my lists to be highly competitive, but rather trying to win with a list with inherrant flaws. I do not win all the time, but I don't lose all that often either.

My ideal opponent is one I tie consistantly. I prefer a game were both players walk away happy and proud of a fight well faught.

My armies always have extremely detailed back stories, some as long as small novels. I prefer an army with a storyline, I find armies without them dry and boring to play.

That's about as much as I feel like being self centered today. I like giving advice, arguing fluff, and trading backstories too. So feel free to message me fo anything really.

My user name in full would be Oz The Great and Powerful. In my fluff for my new guard army and the 40k and Dragons campaign that I built around it, Oz is a radio DJ that orbits a planet called White Fall. The whole thing is basically The Wizard of Oz in space.

I would love to post some backstory if anyone is interested. It's rather complex though.

Well lets see, the story takes place on a planet in the Damocles Gulf called Whitefall. The area has long been forgotton by both the Imperium, and the Tau Empire alike. In the last thoughsand years or so the only true military super power in the region was the Farsight Enclaves, but recently humans have started to move into the area. Two competing corperate militaries formed in two separate systems after the Imperials pulled out. Fleet and Jackson. Whitefall used to be protected by Fleet, and a small amount of settlers moved to the backwater world to avoid the structures and rules of society.
50 years ago war boke out between Fleet and Jackson, and Jackson took the system in which Whitefall. Jackson is not as Liberal as Fleet and built a city on Whitefall before trying to "civilise" the locals. A war broke out and the locals managed to push back the small occupational force Jackson left behind to the city walls.
Jackson gave up on trying to make the planet something worth living on and now uses the plannet as an intersteller garbage dump. Ships come in 2-3 times a day to just dump garbage all over the surface.
Some of the locals didn't give up on a free Whitefall. Inspired by a pirate radio DJ who calls himself Oz, a small resistance sprang up with the goal of gaining Whitefall's resistance. Lead by a Psyker named Victoria(My version of the wicked which of the west) the mercenary group Blackfoot continues to raid Jackson's forces on the planet. With Oz and a highly skilled hacker that goes by the name 01 on their side, Blackfoot truely feels it is just a matter of time before they gain the upper hand.

Blackfoot is my army by the way. What you guys think? This might be the cliff notes version, but it gets the point accross. I wanted to write this for the Black library, but sadly they practically laughed at my offer.

Well that was nice of them, did they offer any constructive criticism? I put finger to keyboard on writing my own story for Bl for the first time ever the other day, would be interested to know what they said?

I think it's a cool concept story, obviously if you had more time / space you'd be able to flesh it out more and explain the details, like;

* Who are the humans and ships that are dumping on Whitefall if the IoM has no involvement? Are they an 'undiscovered human sub-culture' or something?
* What's with the Tau involvement? How come they're no longer in the picture?

I think it's a cool Necromunda style story, and would love to see it develop in to the IoM coming back in, trying to fold them back in to the imperium, so Oz and his troupe launch guerrilla raids on them etc.

I can see a lot of potential in it, just needs more development time and back story on the characters (ie, how a DJ can lead a force to victory, does he have military experience? Which military? Etc)

The BL does not accept submissions. I got a generic responce, and when I inquired further, I got a polite F Off.

Oz isn't their leader Victoria is. Oz just intercepts their transmissions fron his satalite in orbit. He decodes them with a program written by his hacker friend 01.

The ships are Jackson Corp. ships from Jacksons many other planets. Oz tracks their trajectory and broadcasts the most likely path so scrappers (another subculture) can find the loot before the cultists (they are all over the wasteland in small numbers) take over.

The Damocles Gulf is cut off from the IoM. Farsight and orks own the space around it. Only a few human worlds remain, and they have had.no IoM contact for almost 1000 years.The IoM has pretty much cut their losses in the region.

They think that if you insult someone, it makes them seem more intelligent...thus if you insult someone in an argument, it makes you right...
