GK can't field more than 1 of each assasin type, because the assasins are special characters.

Well, it wasn't the stupidest tactic I've ever used, but it was a definite derp moment.

Today I played my first apoc game and used my stompa. I initiated the supa-gattla and fired it at a daemon prince approaching my stompa. I forgot that to use the continuing fire i need to choose another enemy within 12" (I though it could be anywhere within range)... the enemy was at the other end of the table... so I wasted a ton of potential on one model...

THEN i realized that it's co-axial so the deth kannon can only fire at the same target I shot the supa-gattla at... so i got one wound via the deth kannon instead of hitting all the juicy terminators in a clump that were far away.


I ended up dealing two wounds to the daemon prince but still... waste

I used a Mek with my Lootaz once. He was never in range of anything. EVER.

I took a deathstar unit once for my mom's list, made from Terminators transported in a Land Raider. I think the rest of the army was made up of Tactical and Scout Squads, which were easily rolled up by my Battle Sisters after they'd eliminated the Terminators in turn 2 and their Land Raider in turn 3, after the deathstar had destroyed a whopping 150 point Battle Sisters unit. I then learned not to take deathstars, even for my opponent's list. It's pretty much the only time I tabled her.

More recently, I deployed a unit of Heavy Bolter-equipped Retributors on a hill. I neglected to realize that there was a large building preventing them from seeing half my opponent's units - including the important half, e.g. the footsloggers out in the open. This building was located roughly 8" in front of them. Oh, did I mention that I had deployed after my opponent? I then failed to move them to get a better line of sight. I think they killed maybe 4 things that whole game. Not units, models.

My worst tactic was a few days ago,I sent Kharn in on his own against Calgar and he died.
So the next game I sent Kharn in with a squad of 'zerkers. He killed his own squad.

Depending on the Dreadnought, that might not be a bad choice. Deffdredd w/ 4 DCCWs springs to mind, or Vendread with Seismic Hammer.

poor sergeant bob... i think we have all had experiences like that. I remember 1 time i wanted to stall abaddon and the termies with him from reaching my platoon, so i sent a 1/2 strength veteran squad out to meet them and just had them get in a big line as far ahead of my guys as possible so that he would have to attack them and get shot at the next turn, or walk around them and not make it to my line. the tactic worked...but those 5 men...brave souls

Vendreads don't get hammers.The Ironclad does.

Charged 3 SM dreads into a Single Demon prince. All 3 wrecked before I got in an attack.

I forgot the Deceivers abilities.I assualted him with Abbadon. He withdrew from combat and got into assault range of my LR that hadn't moved last the last turn. Bye-bye LR. I was so mad I concentrated on killing him while ignoring the rest of the Necrons. Needless to say I got trounced.

Load up one entire squad with a ton of upgrades using the 4th edition codex so that each marine has a +2 save +5 invulnerable save, counter attack, flank, true grit, feel no pain, fearless, preferred enemy, and jump packs. Most overpowered unit ever, killed 3 abaddons in one game and no matter what people did they couldn't just freaking die. Might i add they all had power weapons + furious charge!

Well this is actually a tactic my opponent use,

I was playing a big points game, and put 43 suits on the board, and my opponent tried shooting. R.I.P. 391st Krieg, victory for SuitSpamSun Cadre!

Shoot everything at a GK squad that just wouldn't die.

One survived. Fail.

Not long after I got dubbed the nickname in my signature.

We have a special term for crazy driving... stupidly fun, called the 'Nate School of Driving' named after the man who created it. It involves driving on top of wrecked vehicles and buildings- especially drop pods- BECAUSE YOU CAN. Oh, and unneccesssary tank shocking.

I once played a guy who brought 1500 points to 750 point night, no one else had a 40k army so he "adjusted" his list to roughly 750 points...
I got massacred... highly upgraded Dp 12 Plague marines with plasma in rhinos and 3 obliterators (might be something else but I was wiped out by those units)
