Thanks warboss', None happier than I to have it finished. Just need to find the time/motivation mix to start the next project.
Thanks Gits'.

I have collected together some pieces and scraped mouldlines,
And even glued some bits together.
Using a bike I picked up from Fenris at the time I bought the bear for the Beorn piece.
Think of the Ewok on the speeder.
But with a tyranid arm and some "(Mad) Scientist" thrown in.

That's a promising bunch of bits you got there. The grot's squig-eating grin is perfect for a little guy who's super stoked about his new bike. Let's go!

Thanks Tzurk.
I was looking for a helmeted head (safety first), but found this one and thought the hood would allow me to hide any problems with the head angle it'll require for this pose.
But yes, the silly grin helps sell a personality.
Now more glued together:
Not much more I can cram on this model really, but I spy some GS work for the clothing around his shoulders to hide the joins and give it some more "billowy-ness".
And the added mud-guard could do with some rivets (of course) to hold it on.
And then I'm feeling a broken, dusty, asphalt basing.
Might get him stuck to the base first as the model balances on a knife-edge and that front fork is very fragile.

Ah yes, I should have clarified in the title (forgot I had not).
But then again, the internet runs on clickbait. Made ya look!
Thanks Grotsnik.
Didn't find any cork pieces large enough for a full base (I'm sure I have some somewhere...), so I turned to the "activated carbon bits" - tarmac I used a while back.
As it's been a while (skip if you remember):
Spoiler:
These come from water filters.
The filtering is performed by a mixture of activated carbon and molecular sive beads.
I used an inclined plane to separate the angular carbon from the round beads.
and I got a ton of round rivets and gravel/tarmac material.
to make tarmac from the carbon it takes 2 applications.
Glue,
Sprinkle,
This is good enough for a gravel surface (as seen on my crashed UFO piece)
But for tarmac you need more glue,
Then a 2nd sprinkle.
And really pack in the carbon bits to fill in the gaps between the pointy bits already glued on.
Then sand the whole thing flat.
Paint as tarmac (see my Ravenwing bikers)
Back to today's project.
Tarmac down, glued (and pinned) to base.
Putty around the shoulders to fill out the clothes and give the tyranid arm a sleeve to match.
And rivets for the mud-guard.
Needs something more for the base (will look through my boxes to see what I find in the shape of trash or plantlife), but ready for paint.
It's really quick when you don't decide to completely scratchbuild the whole model... note to self...

Making that tarmac looks time consuming and tricky. But I love it. Really does look better than using cork (and I love using cork) I may have to look into this. Maybe I can get the pieces already separated?
Thanks blockade'. Yeah, my modelling generally leans towards spending time rather than money.
Yes, using anything gravel-like that you can pack on tightly and then sand down flat would work. This carbon sands really easily (and was effectively free), but the common model gravel material, sand, obviously doesn't sand well (which is why it's used on sandpaper for sanding things)...
...and leads to sentences with a lot of "sand" in... ...it does get everywhere after all...
And cork is fine. I just didn't have any originally, and couldn't find any this time.
Oh, I just remembered where I keep the cork, but luckily there's no pieces in there that would have been large enough. I still would have had to frankenstein something together anyway. I was sure I had larger pieces though... Serves me right for having a long break from models.

Looked fine after a priming, so went straight to black (as usual).
It's easier to see in black in the photos, so that's what you get.
Now I need to decide upon a colour scheme. Had not given that any thought... give me a bit...
Thinking out loud:
Green skin (obviously),
Clothing, could be leathers... probably black
Loose-fitting cloth about the head and torso, maybe more colourful.
Not really a racing bike, more of a comercial, normal, bike: so no large sponsor colours/designs, one colour for bodywork.
Something that appeals to a Grot:
I know red-ones-go-fasta, but they can't all be red (once I get around to having more),
He doesn't look like he's interested in luck, so not blue,
Might be drawn towards green, would have to be different to whatever green I go for skin, for contrast.
That's RGB covered, other colours?
Yellow, not feeling it.
Purple, nah.
Orange, might stand out without being red.
When it comes to motorbikes, my thoughts always go to Akira:
Kaneda's bike is very popular (and is another reason to skip red), and I may or may not get one for the army one day.
To sidestep the popular choice I had planned to have the bikes from the rest of the gang covered.
This bike doesn't match the style of those bikes, but I could borrow a colour scheme...
I shall need to research.

Skin is the obvious place to start as it's the easy choice.
Went for a different green for the tyranid arm, so show it's a transplant, but kept it green.
the claw will be red to keep with the mantis shrimp photo I found in my tyanid folder.
Might add some irridescence to that arm at some point.
I am thinking orange for the bike.
The cloak will need to compliment the green skin and orange bike, which looks to be some flavour of purple.
Metallics next, I think.

Thanks Gits', it's nice to get into a model with no pressure of time or expectation. It's just for me. It's been as fun as it looks.
Orange is on the bike, Red on the red bits.
With that particular flavour of orange I've ended up with, theory tells me the cloak should be a deep, dark, blue-purple. We'll see what we get as I always have to mix purples every time.

Not a lot more I can say about him.
Went with an Isle of Man TT poster for the base, because motorbike.
Small tufts of cotton wool to show the dusty road surface and add a little speed.
I hope you like him.
Show him some love.
I may start another model soon, as it's still staring at me...

Thanks 'Retromancer.
I'd had the Grots for a while, with intentions of putting them on something, then I found this bike while buying other things (and needed to make the money up for postage).
At the same time, I also bought myself a present.
Some bipedal Ankylosaurus-man thing.
Of course I needed that for the army!
The stock model has both arms down and holding stone-age-like weapons.
Big online picture in spoiler:
Spoiler:
Of course I had to modify it to be more dynamic and more "Mad Scientist".
Part 1 is getting these arms on...
...and adding a couple more.
What you have here is the parts (top left),
Scale shot with Tyranid warrior (bottom left),
and all round with the arms on.
Seems like a good, Tyranid warrior on steroids, stand in.
Is my memory failing, there is/was a Tyranid Warrior Prime or something?
The original left arm will be holding a flag or some such.
I'm seeing the large tyranid claw as being held here in a defensive pose (as you might with a sword).
The right tyranid arms are just supporting the weapon's weight,
and the original right arm will be holding the trigger etc.
There's a lot of putty work required.
Just filling in the gaps around the shoulders/armpits,
Extending the arm holes in the chest for the new arms to emerge from,
I'll cover the upper tyranid arms to make them merge with the original body...
The gun needs more work to make it less "3 guns stuck together" and more "one weapon made from 3 guns stuck together, in universe".
There also needs an ammo drum and belt somewhere to feed the bolter, and maybe a sac for the 'nid gun.
You see now what I mean by "this thing has been staring at me"...

Thanks Graven'. Well, these 2 models have been sat on the desk for a long time, tempting me to get back to models.
I would take photos of it stomping the city, but...
a) it wouldn't fit under the lid
2) it would likely actually break something
Thanks Tzurk.
The fire rim is to make it part of my army/collection. It's the only unifying feature.
Yes, more work on the Ankylosaurus.
The weapon has been tied together with various small 'nid, Eldar, Tau and other bits.
I also added some 'nid bits about their person...
...More things will be added, including more (Mad) Scientist tech bits.
Added the trophy spike to show it's part of the army and not just a tamed beast.
It has a brain, even though it's been brainwashed.
As I used some parts of a tyranid devourer I used the arm from that to add yet another arm.
This one is not fully formed and who knows how many more arms it may grow.
The square hole in the bottom of the gun is where the ammo belt will enter.
As you can see, just filling in hole and overlapping pieces to tie it all together.

I found an old, plastic moulded child's watch strap (or similar).
Cut the ends off,
Cut it in half, lengthwise,
Glued them back to back,
One ammo belt.
Fits in the hole I left in the weapon perfectly.
Glued it together progressively, from end to end, so it holds it's shape,
And then it's pinned on the back with the ammo drum (a cut down OMN cast).
The brain implant is a few little bits stuck together, including;
The base is from some Airfix kit (a light fixture?)
Some round shape I've clearly cut off of something...
A tiny Eldar blob with blobs on.
and a Tyranid toxin sac to tie it to the 'nid brain thing.
There will be some more wires and such added once I've puttied everything.
I think putty is the next job, speaking of.
Until then...

Putty work done (for now).
Might have to give it a prime to see how it ties together before calling it "good".
Added a few other details, including a strap for the ammo box.
Being bolted on to the shell wasn't sold for me and would be more inconvenient for this chap.
Also, with the length of the ammo belt (which if much longer would catch the ground) the box could do with some freedom of movement to allow easy aiming.
The weapon grip was finished off with a top and a trigger-guard. The top still needs some switches added.
It might be time to get him on a base at least to see how that will work.
and some final details, as yet undecided...
And the flag...

Fabric over some metal from a modelling putty tube (toluene-based, hence the flamable and/or corrosive warnings you may see through the fabric).
Once painted, I can bend this into any shape, or bend it first and paint it with shading. That's a later problem.
The flag and rings are actually separate from the pole. In case I decide to make it interchangable for gameplay.
The pole, while it doesn't look it, is textured with a layer of superglue. Will see how that turns out with priming.
And I added the switch to the gun's grip.
The triangle I'm envisioning as a rocker switch, with it switched up. I'll paint the upper part of the switch on the finished piece.
I'm letting it sit for a bit, in case I get any more inspiration before paint.
But I think it's ready for priming.

Been stuck on what colour scheme to do for this chap. I may have decided on a skin colour so may slap that on and see what comes of it.
In the mean time, he is primed and black, ready for actual painting.
