I've recently come back to the game after a decade hiatus (been reading the heresy books for some years now) and I picked up a good deal on ebay for some termi's, berserkers, Addadon and some spruces of random bit's I could probably get a few marines out of.

My question is since the new rules came out is it worth getting the current codex? or will GW put out a new one soon.

As i've not started painting (still stripping of the previous paint job) and i'm curious as to can you mix chapters?

As I want the army to be Emporers Children (i just dig black and pink) but can I have berskers as anything other than World eaters?

I've been looking at some of the awesome painted jobs on the site, could anyone give me a good list of paints to get started with as i'll be getting them in a couple of weeks. That is for the Emporers children scheme.

Any help give will be greatly appreciated,

Word on the street is that the new Chaos shoud be here by the end of the year (rumoured some time between August and November). Obviously they're just rumours, so shouldn't be taken as 100% fact, but I find they're normally a reasonable guideline.

There are no rules that say your army has to be painted in 1 specific legion's colour, so you can paint 1 squad as Black Legion, the next as Iron Warriors and another as World Eaters if you wish, but generally people seem to pick one and stick with it. It helps give your army some cohesion visually, so they look like a unified force, rather than just a collection of models.

The current codex doesn't prohibit you from taking 'Zerkers with your Emp Children, but you may run into people that will complain about pink and black Bezerkers because of the fluff/lore.

I don't see the fluff-issue really.

The lore states rather explicitly that several other non-World Eater Legions and Warbands have the technology to make Berserkers (notably the Black Legion by the Book).

And if it's accessible outside World Eaters, people like Fabius Bile (or his disciples) would arguably be the first to play with and "improve" the procedure.

The new codex is supposedly coming in september, just assemble your models, maybe paint them and wait patiently. If you want to buy anything, normal CSM.

I agree. There really is no set perameter that you have to follow with chaos. The codex shows some cult marines painted Black Legion but with a little bit of their original colors on a shoulder pad or a head.

There is nothing wrong with just saying that they are Emperor's Children who use tactics (or perhaps lack of tactics)similar to that of the World Eaters. It's your army.

Anything and everything is possible in the magical world of Chaos.
