Hi,
FW has been nice on Games Day France. They showed some previews of upcoming Dwarf and Goblin models (thanks to Tex and Chaos Warlord over at Warseer for posting them):

And here a list of all Golden Demon Winners:

I like that Slayer. He looks kinda like the one out of the first Warhammer online trailer.

Is that actual chain on the third dwarf? Or is it built on a pewter model?

Dwarfs with real proportions, like that they have legs that could actualy support their weight... and possibly more than just the knee and down. To me the GW ones don't look like they could walk. I'm impressed.

I'm not a fan of the dwarves to be honest. The legs look more realistic, but the heads look like they are part of the chest; like some kind of mutant, rather than being hunched over and stocky

I was about to say the same!

The 'lack of neck' look has been taken to the extreme.

I still like them though!

AoW has them beat as far as an economical alterative goes. Their troops and characters are just as if not more flavorfull and 25% off. The troops are a really good deal - like 1992 GWprices. The fact that the slayer rules feel like they are from the same year limits the appeal as well.

The slayer guy looks allright (where's the neck?), the bsb and other dwarf look poor. The nightgoblins look like the plastic nightgoblin and Battle for Skull Pass NG cast in resin.

I'm not keen on the slayer, especially compared to the metal AoW ones, but I do quite like the BSB - though I'm sure I won't be keen on the price.

The Vampire Counts Wight King BSB they released was 14 GBP...and I have to say worth every penny.

But I'd be surprised if the Dwarf BSB makes that price mark. Probably more like 10 GBP?

Also oh my.

Did anyone else notice the (very likely) Vampire Counts beastie in the background of the last picture, next to the Wight Banner Bearers?

Looks like real chain. Nice cheaty way of doing Chainmail there.

I loving the Goblins, esp. that Shaman on the far left who appears to be completely losing control of his Waaagh! energy.

The Dwarf looks like it's sculpted by Edgar Skomoroski, who did the Vampire Counts Wight Standard Bearer--which had bits of real chain on the chainmail links there for the "master" sculpt.

He also did Lietpold the Black with the same level of detail.

speaking of that third dwarf, what is it? there seems to be a similar one to the right, and it's really not sufficiently blinged out to be a character. can't be a replacement longbeard if only for the lack of beard, so what could it be?

I do really like how he's wearing chainmail over what seems to be a coat of plates, though. guess the stunties can't ever have too much armour

I'd guess it is either a named Thane, or he and the BSB are actually command figures for some new unit.

And a not overly-blinged character will make a nice change.

Really like the night goblin stuff. Dwarf stuff is really good too, but I have a night goblin army, so there's that.

Has no one noticed the giant screaming ghost-looking monster in the back left of the picture? Any news on that?

The new dwarf look is interesting. The less cartoony aesthetic (see: current metal slayers) is welcome in an era of he-man skull terrain and over-the-top monsters.

Sweet enola gays, I'd down a mead to have some of those bad boys. Those night goblins rock and the Dwarfs ain't bad either although I'd take exception with the slayer having his head in his chest...

And that screaming ghost like monster looks like something out of the Deadspace videogames!

All I'm here for is the pretty pictures and to make inane comments based upon them

After some research it indeed appears to be Mourngal. After the disappointment that was the Magma Dragon I let go of my expectations for future releases, glad to see that they're picking back up again with some decent ideas.
