Thanks, man. Sounds like we have a mini mutual admiration thing going on here. I'm picking up a lot of ideas from your chaos dreadnought project.
My greenstuff technique is pretty haphazard, to be honest. Thinking back, I suppose I usually start by rolling out thin tubes about the thickness of tendril stalks, bend/curl/coil them into interesting forms, then (while they're still fresh and malleable, splice them onto or into a model, then splay the ends with one of several modeling tools. It's hit-or-miss, though, and I find myself frequently (maybe 40% of the time) ripping stuff out (before it dries, ideally) and trying again.
What is critical, at least for me, is working slowly, in multiple layers, letting each layer dry before working on it some more. So I weave in a few tendrils here and there, put the model down.... Pick it up hours (or days) later and weave a few more in....
I'll have updates in a few days. (I have a few more layers to weave. )

I appreciate the support, Som.
I've made modest progress on a few fronts over the last week or two. The conversion work on a second Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot is nearly done:
This one's a bit less cluttered, a bit cleaner than the first one. But the basic idea is the same. It'll "float" on its base (since Tzeentch chariots move as jetbikes).
I've modeled the wires curling out of the creature to depict its ability to project powers such as Bolt of Tzeentch and Daemonic Gaze:
I'll probably work a bit more greenstuffery into that part of the model, though I don't want to overdo it.
As always, critique and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. (I'm assuming that in this crowd, accusations of being twisted amount to compliments! )
I have begun painting the first Herald.
Still very much WIP, but I wanted to put down the base colors to see how I felt about the composition.
I still have a lot of touching up, blending and highlighting to do here. For example, I want the coiling lines of Tzeentchian energy to blend much more smoothly, all the way up to white. At this point they're pretty patchy:
At this point, though, I do like the look and feel of it.
Thanks for looking.

The wire as energy bolts is a top idea. Are you gona add glow effects on the chariot where they pass? Also do you have problems when playing a game against younger people?, in that they start crying in terror when they see your stuff, or does that happen to everybody?lol

I almost hesitate to make this next post. I think I may have "a problem."
Hell, I'll just come right out and say it. I'm starting yet another daemon prince conversion. Based, once again, on an IG sentinel.
I can't help myself!
Seriously, though, the model that I use for my Nurgle-marked daemon prince, this one...
(since re-painted in more Nurgly colors).
Well, I've never liked it as much as the others. Too top-heavy, too cluttered, too spindly in the legs. It was my first piece for this army, it spawned a lot of ideas and making it taught me a lot, but I think I can do better now that I've had more practice.
So....
I started with Sentinel legs, pinning them to the base, since in my experience, that is where they tend to break -- and since I've clipped off a lot of the Sentinel feet.
Then I took a fire-starter to the sentinel cabin, warping it a bit and while the plastic was soft, poking open a mouth-like aperture.
Actually, the "mouth" came out better than I expected, and I was tempted to work it into a proper maw with teeth. But in the end I decided to go with my first idea, which was to put a tusk/horn there (since this will be a Nurgle Prince).
Then I glued the cabin/head onto the legs, giving the beast a cocked, bent pose to suggest that it's goring prey with its horn.
At this point I began to feel that the horn was too small...
So I built it up and textured it with greenstuff.
The texture on the horn turned out a bit rougher than I intended, and I've since cleaned it up a bit -- though I do want it somewhat rough and lined.
Pulling back, I have to say I really like the pose this one is assuming:
It feels very "alive" and beast-like, to me at least.
Here's a look at the creature from behind:
Needless to say, there's still a long way to go on the creature -- and a lot more greenstuff to splice/weave/graft in!
Wheee! I love this stuff. Sometimes it's hard to bring myself to follow through on the painting, but I do love this stage of a project!
Thanks for looking. Critique and/or suggestions would be, as always, most welcome.

I might not be really clear-thinking, as I have always been fond of that multiple-mawed Chaos Spawn head, so the first DP looked nice to me!!!
On the other hand, I'm pretty confident you'll pull out something interesting in the end, so I'm not worried...
2 minor comments :
- the original piece was indeed a bit "top-heavy", but that's Nurgle after all...
- I'm not a huge fan of melting the plastic with a flame (front of the Sentinel), but that's just personal opinion... I think it'd look better if you used your GS skills on those parts...

You have the same problem as I have with dreads I think if you keep revisiting a style you like, it can onlt get better.
The way it leans really gives it a twisted warp feel already, and you havn't even done your green stuff maddness to it. Thanks for th WIPs.

Thanks for the feedback on the Nurgle Prince. He's proceeding slowly -- partly because I'm trying to decide what model to use for the possessed sentinel pilot. A friend of mine suggested a bloated corpse, lolling, practically bursting with puss... which would be exactly right, and which I would probably need to sculpt at least part of. I've been intimidated to start trying.
Meanwhile, I've been working on a display base for the army. The plan here would be to base them in a ruined imperial temple. I picture the display base as being pretty simple and flat -- basically it's meant to stage the army in a setting that conveys the Harrowed's narrative background.
To "sculpt" a temple floor, I tried using a technique I picked up [ulr=http://www.terragenesis.co. uk/infopages/page395.html]here, from TerraGenesis[/url]. Basically, I found a large piece of foam board, gently pulled away the paper layer on one side, and carved into the exposed foam to create this:
Then I sculpted greenstuffed tendrils and an eye of chaos in the middle, to depict daemonic possession of the temple:
Then I painted it (here mostly done):
(and another angle)
Now I'm working on pillars (also infested with daemonic tendrils) for the four corners:
It's getting close to done. (Need to touch up the painting on the eye of chaos, and finish daemon-izing and painting the pillars)...
As always, thanks for looking. I really appreciate the feedback. There are more pictures, and some details on the step-by-step process, in my blog (linked via my sig).

Thanks guys.
Board is painted!
I'm pleased with the result. The setting may not look like a "real" place, but hopefully it will frame the army atmospherically and narratively:
I go back and forth on whether the base may be a little too busy...
Here's a look with some of the Harrowed clambering over the landscape:
Yep, I think it sets the mood.

I field it every once in awhile, but since it's so lightly converted I tend to leave it on the shelf. (I am thinking of cooking up a third one. At which point, the temptation to put three in play will probably mean mustering the first back into action.)
