Thanks guys. Not much done recently, certainly nothing worth showing. Been feeling a bit lacklustre on the modelling front recently, thought I'd try a few other projects other than orks but none of them really caught me either so a few days playing video games, head over friends for the weekend and hopefully be feeling good to go after

Good Grief Monkeytroll! I lose track of this thread for a month or so, and all sorts of awesome explodes! The last time I looked at this thread, you were still messing around with that "Grot-sludge in a bottle" thing, what ever happened to that? Love the Hoverwagon! And did I miss it or are you still working on TV head? Sorry if you have already mentioned these topics, I am at work and only have time to zip through and look at the pics! Love what you got going here! Keep it up!

RSJake - I think you lost track of time too, the sludge affiar was back in Aug/Sep I believe Although TV head was early this year I think Grot-in-a-bottle is still lying around somewhere, awaiting a use as part of something. Hmm, maybe a dok-wagon to go with the mek-hovva?

Cool pile of stuff you have their Monkeytroll...I hope you cut them up and do cool things with them....but leave poor Makari alone....the poor bugger has already been done over by games workshop....DAMN THEM!!!! Though in hindsight you do cool stuff to models so maybe he is in safe hands after all.

PDH - I believe he got sat on by Ghaz. That never bodes well for a little 'un.

neil - a bit of both. Been getting back into Oblivion and finally started Dead Space on the PS, and getting back into Eve on the PC. Although they've re-done the character generator and I had to re-make my avatars - I prefer the old ones.

Had to play oblivion on the ps or I wouldn't get anywhere, I have Morrowind on the PC and the mods folder is WAY larger than the original game, I've been playing on and off for years and hardly touched the main quest To be fair not got very far in Oblivion either, I like them as I can just wander off and do my own thing. Same for Eve, been playing for about 4-5 years now, but not very active past year or so. Won't be getting back into it in the same way, used to get home from work, log in before getting my shoes off and logging out to go to bed And a quick look before work too. Wasn't addicted in the slightest, oh no
As to Dead Space, it's the first one, can't afford new games, just pick up used ones

And I was actually messing about with models today rather than gaming. No greenskins, but may post some progress elsewhere later.

What is this "play-station" you speak of?

monkeytroll - Man that really sucks. For something that was incredibly lucky being sat on by an Ork Warlord, who gives Ogryns a size complex, is incredibly unlucky. I hope they retcon that and bring him back to life for the next codex. In fact I am going to start a petition and then send it to GW....if everyone wants him back.... GW will listen, give him must have rules, bung him in the Ghaz box and then charge an extra £10 for it all. WOW that would make them £30.50....ouch.

Ahh, the good old Master System. Memories of sleep-overs spent playing Alex Kidd in Wonder Land, Mickey's Magical Adventure (possibly wasn't Magical, memories a little hazy) and of course that amphetamine junky of a hedgehog.


Of course, they weren't as good as the times we used to have when we'd kick back after a nasty raid by plugging the old Okari 2600 into the navigation system for a quick blast of Pong, used to drive the navigator crazy.

neil - I'm afraid the big mek's took the light gun away to put in the Kustom Mega Blaster AMiga CD, well now, that might not get painted up as a screen after all maybe that could be the sound system, the single lever that's out of shot being all the controls that are needed - Stop, Go, No Go Faster. well technically they're both cheating, one isn't holding his controller and neither actually has their controller connected

graven - A bit of silliness here and there never hurt anyone*. Helps to keep the creative juices flowing to be silly occasionally, honest, read it in a journal or summat.

Alex the kid was such a little ****. I could never get past that last castle. Sonic on the other hand was shear genius and I could even get all the chaos emeralds.
Got an emulator on a memory stick with like thousands of games, but they are all utter pants, mostly. And I prefer to use computers for a higher purpose these days (watching people fall down).
I love your grots playing pong they are a laugh riot. And of course you can't just have one shark with a frikkin lazer you have to have a whole shoal.
You are a genius at sticking tiny things together to make other tiny things - I mean how the hell did you make the joysticks? Have you got calipers for fingers? Are you Edward tweezer-hands?

you know i think you should paint the hover wagon a nice shade of orange, brown and cream 70s style to match that retro feel , with go faster stripes to match. alex kidd was awesome but nothing beats the feel of jumping a grave stone with a lance in one hand , before turning into a big pile pile of bones ;-)

weety - Yeah, I've got several emulators of different systems, but it can be a slog fiding the gems that are still playable, and those I mainly play on PSP. I'd rather have the actual old sytems for the whole nostalgia thing, but know I haven't got anywhere to keep them, have an old Jaguar and a couple of Lynxes sitting in my folk's garage as is, although I'd probably still pick up a Vectrex if I stumbled on one at theright price And I'd still love to have an original arcade Space Harrier.
Still debating on having a sharktopus to lead the SWFLOTFHs.
Damn, you found my secret out, now'll I'll have to despatch the grot-kopta's to keep you quiet. Actually the real issue with the joystick was getting the mekka-dendrits to hold it reasonably well. That was a right royal pain, and the reason the mono-wheeled guy isn't actually holding his. He'll be getting a bionik arm instead now.

neil - don't forget the running around in your heart-covered boxers. I have actually been contemplating a maroon/cream scheme, reminiscent of classic NES stylings But it's a bit too ramshackle to hold down to something like that I think, so idea stored for later use

And that's one thing that I love about Orc's, there is so many crazy ideas you can pull off without having to worry about it being out of character or the like. And that's also what I admire about your project, its a seemingly endless flow of pure creativity and dedication and that it's more to it than what immediately meets the eye.

Now I wouldn't trade my space puppies for anything but when seeing work like yours I often start thinking "hmmm, maybe a small 1000p force then..." knowing that I would never have the time or energy to take the work to the lever I would wish to. Not in the near future anyway.

My god I never get board looking at your work. Just went threw all 19 pages. U had to have been a Big Mek in a past life. But it was very inspiring so I might have an idea or 2 from it. And just to let you know that rokkit boy you traded me. Which I love took out a land raider the other day. Made a Big Badda Boom!
