Llama - Dik and Muttley are soley booked for appearances in da waaagh-ky races, well they may have occasional guest spots in this blog, but they won't be joining Grimsnik and Upzag. I'm still not sure which guy reminds you of Kang though.
PDH - Thank you, always glad to bring a smile into someone's day

CK - Thanks. The suit was just about to become an 'ard boy when I twisted it again and... IG grenades, stikk-bombs from the stoemboyz, maybe even a stick of dynamite or two, I fully expect a mixture there. As to the PK colours, no actually, that will be the base for a pale greeny-blue. Or at least, that's the plan at present. I decided to switch from the yellow that piece was going to be as I'd used yellow for highlighting the rest of the PK, and wanted a diferent contrast in there, felt a pale blue or green might work in it's place. The pic in my head looks good, we'll see how the RL version turns out.
Interesting; curious to see what you'll come up with

NecronBender - Thanks, as CK said, those are very useful kits
Well CK, not sure about it myself now, didn't turn out as pale as I envisaged it (my fault there, should have started a bit lighter I think), was originally going to keep the klaw in fairly good nick, but maybe I'll chip it up a bit, see how it looks then.
As mentioned in the GMS thread, this was really just an excuse to put something in my new lightbox - £11 off e-bay, not bad but the background sheets it came with are pants. Need to print up some of the ones I have in my pics folder sometime - once I get some more ink for my printer and find all the cables
Also mentioned there, I'm thinking the overall figure might be too red orientated - feelings?
So, finally received my ramshackle goodies today, quality is a bit so-so, but cheap so... Also some of the parts are a bit bigger than I was expecting, got some legs which turned out to be about right for a defiler (I'm guessing) and a mono-wheel which will become part of a buggy, was holding off on some bike ideas while I waited for these track bits, but Don't think they'll work for bikes.
Also got a delivery of my favoured EMA PlasticWeld glue, which my ' lgs' (or closest thing we have to one) has been out of since befor Christmas, so that makes me happy.
So, been mainly tinkering with ideas for the BW/Junka thingummy, but a few little things to throw out there, just so it looks like I'm still doing stuff
Got a choppa for this guy now, just need a stikk-bomb launcher of some kind on the other side now.
And the other one got a lick of paint, thinking they might all end up similar black and grey, with differing colour details for each. But early days yet, may well change that.
Another slugga boy, this one hovering around, used part of a 54mm Robocop arm for his, err, arm. Plus a possible Big Mek - figure I may have several different Big Meks available, maybe a warboss, and almost certainly a Wazzdakka, mainly as I just realised a great piece for a dakka cannon
A couple of tekky ideas, one of which will be for Inmygravenimage courtesy of the GMS.
And found this the other day, was an old skiff type thing(originally a snotling pump wagon) for the snotling part of my greensteela cult back in the day, used to have a couple of floats underneath, and had been re-painted at least once.
Oh yeah, and not sure what these guys think they might be
And I certainly have not been looking for shark pieces on the internet, not me Have a vague plan that they might become counts as grots later - there could be an excuse for that

Love the "Mars Pattern" orks! All hail the Orknissia!
I wouldn't worry about that first ork... he still looks great even if he isn't exactly what you wanted. And if you keep him he'll serve as a reference point for your later work.

Looking ace! It's great to see more painted stuff from you I don't think you've got anything to worry about with the painting - it's really good! I really like the boss pole - not like one I've seen before. The teeth look really good, and how on earth did you do the eye?
The paint chipping is really well done. Have you considered rusting it up a bit though? Purely personal preference, of course, but everything seems orkier if it's too rusty to possibly work!
The shark torpedo thing is amazing - where did you get that end piece?! As always, really fun conversions, must look fantastic together.
EDIT: Wrote the same thing twice *facepalm*

Gits - Thanks, don't plan on keeping him though, he's a GMS nob for an00bis Which is why I worry a bit more about the paint scheme
Scarper - Cheers! The eye is just two slices of plastic tubing with a blob of GS in the middle, nothing incredible I'm pleased with the chipping, been practising variations on that on the last few orkses to see paint, not sure on how rusty it'll get on this one, was thinking he might be a bit cleaner than some of the others, but he's a long way from finished yet. That robo-shark head is from a stormboy rokkit pack, there's loads of cool goodies on those sprues.

Lookign great monkeytroll. The black and red pops nicely on the koptagrot. As for the nob: I'd consider changing the colour of his iron gob so the eye is drawn more towards the face. some lightly coloured camo maybe? As for the green: put on some Tau or Eldar markings and claim it's a looted bit

Big update ! i was gonna post last night but i was on the ps3 , and typing on that thing is a chore, i would still be writing now, flipside is it has a spell checker , so at least my grammar would be correct
Well the Nob for annobis is really nice , i see what you mean about the red, it would be a shame to paint over any of that nice orange edge highlighting though. The only place i would consider changing ( and the colour would have to be blue imho) is the raider sponsons or roof , and the forearm of the bionic left side .
The black grey red for the grot copters is quite agressive and dramatic. i cant help thinking if they were painted blue and white like the clouds no one would see them when they attacked
loving the roborkcop hover guy , " Your move creep "
Big mek looks nice as well , but you need to add a decapitated unicorn for his base Btw whats a wazzdakka
Tekkie guys are cute well the right hand one , the left hand guy is just scary. and again my lack of orky language is upseting me , "ingraveimage gms"
the skiff / raft is promising , i can see plenty of minigrots on that thing , and i dont know why iam suprised to hear that you had a greensteela cult " groan "
Fricking sharks , are giving me a grimdark kookie idea

CK - Cheers! I'm quite liking the look of the grot-kopta, think if I do a blue or green version it might be a bit 'AutoMan'ish, but hey (that's probably a fairly obscure reference, but maybe not considering the target audience ). As to the iron gob, I can see what you're saying but the red jaw is one of the few touchstones I want to keep throught the force - obviously this one could be different as it's going to a new home but .... Hmm, the tau/eldar angle may e of use, maybe I'll use a similar colour on some of the weapon options.
weety - They're nice, simple and fun. There will be more That's actually a piece of straw around a random piece of plastic, not sure what I was aiming for with it, guessing I just wanted something other than spiky bitz to make it look more spacey
Arakasi - Thanks, I keep changing my mind now, guess I'll paint up some of the weapon options and see how I feel then
neil - Big in size, but cunningly hiding very little actual content Maybe I did get something from all those English essays I had to do in school Have you not tried connecting your keyboard to the PS, much easier than using the onscreen keyboard. And Dakka is supposed to have a spellchecker - I only get it when posting at work though, not sure how to get it up. I think my real issue with the colour scheme is it's not how I originally envisaged it, that had more yellows along with the red and blue. The sponsons are magnetised for the weapon options, so generally won't be seen (but only generally if all comes together as I wish ) These grots aren't as sneaky as some, they like to be seen in their meknificent flying machines. Wazzdakka is a bike lovin' mek-type for HQ, rides a big feth-off bike with a BIG gun. Can't imagine what I find attractive about that idea. GMS = Great Marine Swap ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/305404.page) Y'all should check it out y'hear. inmygravenimage is the guy whose getting one of those tekkies in exchange for one of his Mental Leeshun dudes.
TBH it was actually a real mish-mash genestealer cult with a few greensteela components - old enough that I entered it in the GD back when you took entries to your local GW and armies were a valid entry(got a lot of remarks from the staff at the Cambridge one but wasn't GD quality by a long shot, and had too much variation in the colour scheme too - I felt that colours would get changed up a lot due to all the genetic messing around that was going on - orks, ogryns, humans, maybe even an eldar.

Then change the other reds . IMO, if you just changed the red on the banner, it would fix most of the problem. As always though: your mini, your call!

Oh man, even cheesier than I remember, no wonder it didn't last long I'd forgotten the sparkles in the suit too. Nice to see Manimal up there though
Hate to say it CK, but the red gob on the boss-pole stays for the same reason I'm really not just trying to shoot down your comments, honestly. I'll wait till I have some weapons painted up (must avoid red on the flamer) then see if I still think it needs changing. I think if anything does change, it'll be round the track unit area, I 'm fine with the torso when it's seperate, it's just when the 2 parts come together. We'll see...

So, not a lot done recently, long hours and long weeks at work. The nob for an00bis looks Ok with different colours on the weapons so I'll crack on with that later. Finally sorted out the plan for the junka/battlewagon.
Cockpit to go on the centre section of the upside down tank hull. Front turret/sponson is for wrecking ball/grabbing claw - some kind of electro-magnet probably, there'll be a little tow-chain crane up the back. The high turret will be for SAG/big zappa, possibly some BW options too. The mount in front of that is for a pintle-mounted weapon, also one on top of the cockpit, third maybe at the prow. Drive fans need to be higher, contemplating switching to a double stack of fans, maybe some steering fans/props/jets on outriggers by the nose. Also needs a lot of filling, some areas of scientifik servo-grot interest, and more wires.

CK - Glad you approve That cobbled together look was a real pain, another joyous partially backward build that I seem to be partial to lately. I blame long hours for everything (including any poor grammar and convoluted sentences) I kept fiddling with little pieces of the deck only to realise that I needed to get 3 more pieces under the bit I've just been making damn sure isn't moving Still a few more pieces to add, but it spent ages as just the air-cushion whilst I tried to figure out how the rest would work, so I'm happy it's moved on.
The cockpit won't be on the centre-line, that tank hull is off-set to the right of the craft. It should be a fairly simple, open layout, I'm thinking 2, maybe 3, servo-grots manically pulling levers. Riggers in various spots, and some sort of 'work-bech' for the mek. Maybe some more overhanging deck pieces, possibly some armour plates hanging below them to help protect the cushion.
Hmm, how about a giant pair of buzz-saws in a pincer formation for a deff-rolla Almost went for a ram, but couldn't see a good way to make it removable, and claws/wrecking balls are far more mekky anyway
I did say those sharks may be appearing as grots
samwellfrm - Thank you, can't help but class involuntary exclamations as high praise And feel free to call it what you want - for me it's hovvawagon until it gets a real name.
edit: neil - snuck in whilst I apparently took 20 minutes composing 2 paragraphs (see above excuse ) Cheers man. I'm not sure they'll be hunting them at this time, but maybe later there'll be a switch of team members

Thanks guys!
So went to spend a bit of time filling gaps on the hovvawagon, but played with some grots instead
Guy in the hatch still needs a mek arm resting on the edge of the hatch. One of the wires coming out the power hatch will be getting 'fixed' by another grot, as in he'll be making the connection himself (think I might have to go e-bay trawling for some more old snotlings). Just to give a nice choice to the guy reaching out for the hammer (like a monkey getting his hand caught in a jar of peanuts) there'll be a few more tools laying around. Big shoota & gunna are just placeholders.
He's waiting on a bionik arm so that he can grasp one of the wires, still undecided as to whether he's hanging on a chain or a handhold (of which I plan to have several scattered about).
'Crane' at the front will be getting a different structure, one at the back will be getting a better mount than a blob of blu- tac The grotzooka thingy is just a place-holder for the SAG, although my current plan does incorporate the grotzooka. Want to extend the front left decking a bit too at the moment, although that keeps varying
The back was going to get fuel drums added, possibly another, more obvious rocket exhaust. But I keep coming back to an idea revolving around there being a little platform out the back, with a couple of grots just chilling back there. Maybe an open door showing some sort of grot bar in that area under there. Was planning a grot with a secret stash of fungus brew, but that could get put on the 'viewing platform'. It's just the idea of the servo-grots having their own little den, kicking back and taking turns to scurry around 'outside' to keep up the pretence they're working really hard.
There'll be a second level to the back part, just mesh floor about the height of the rear part of the gun turret, with the fan unit being higher, this can allow for some more grot goodness inbetween the 'floors'.
