Here is some info from Wiki.

Wikipedia wrote:The Praetorian Guard (Latin: Praetoriani) was a force of bodyguards used by Roman Emperors.

If that's the case, it couldn't be less original. I'm sorry, when I think of robots, the last thing that comes to mind is a loincloth.

And that's the problem.

Necrons have always been thought of as "robots".

They're not. They're a construct housing a sentient being.

The level of sentience within these constructs ranges from "mindless drone following orders" to "fully sentient and independently thinking lord".

I'm not understanding the justification for a loincloth regardless. It looks terrible. Might as well bring on the bras.

Well to be fair, Necrons need a lot of units to fill out their lines... and if it's anything like Ward's GK Codex then there's going to be a LOT of options...

They do! Or an extended spine? If they are the jump guys, maybe that is for balance?

This is true. Imperial Guard has more special characters than the old Necrons had units.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I don't like the Mk one style mixed with an ancient civilisation. More so when it seems the sculpturer couldn't decided if that civilisation was Ancient Eygpt or Incas.

Armies | Space Marines (Void Knights - Own Chapter), Space Wolves & Dark Angels | Imperial Guard Cadian and Kasrikin | Grey Knight/Sisters/Inquisitors | Empire - Hochland | Britanan (Relics) | Mordor & Gondor |

Hello, although I'm a static Zero.

Bet they're jump troops - look at the bottom of their ribcage (on the back), they have orbs sticking out. All speculation at this point, though.

I think it might be part of some sort of teleporting pack. Like the interceptor squads.

You have it backwards. Both Egypt and the Incas had a Necron look because both cultures worshipped the Necrons as their 'Space Gods'.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.
