I am working on an Ultramarines list that includes both Tiggy and Calgar and was wondering which would be better for an all comers list
A command squad of 5 plasmas ( they will get 2 turns of tac doctrine)
A command squaf of 4 plasmas and an Apothecary
Or a 4 HG plus one champion with a chapter banner
All options would be in a drop pod.

I know the HG are slightly cheaper on points.

Both are neat options, but I do think that, to get the most from Honour Guard, you want at least 7 in the squad, maybe a chaplain as well. They are far more of a deathstar unit that you need to pile points into, whereas the Command Squad are just slightly shootier Sternguard.

Either are cool, though.

Are you going to have Tiggy and Calgar in the same squad with them?

Hounor Guard is more geared towards CC and the Command squad is more Sepcialized for ranged...

depends on your list, if you have a powerful shooting army, take the honor guard, this way you can pop calgar and tiggy in there (prescience for to-hit rerolls) for a melee "get off my lawn" unit.

Odds are they would be in a pod with Calgar. And with that in mind I think I may be leaning towards the command squad with 4x plasma and an Apothecary. Giving Calgar FNP seems like fun. Plus 4-8 plasma shots.

Plasma fits with calgars AP 2 shooting as well.

however, I would put Tiggy with a shooting squad and calgar with a melee squad

Calgar is a deathstar leader with some supporting special rules.

Honor guard are a deathstar unit.

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

I think a shooty squad with 4 plasma and the apoth and tiggy will be best suited to most situations. I'm guessing a bit cheaper and also the added survivability to Tiggy is always welcome.
