Holy crap it's been a long time since updates.

Only some WIP's this time around.

First up is an Obliterator, number 2 of 3. He is the boss of the other two, and as such, has a face. The other 2 will look more like mechanical automatons. He is supposed to look like a Techmarine that has been in the warp for waaaay too damn long, and has over the millennia succumbed to Nurgle's embrace, whilst helping the Dark Mechanicus and the Lords of Decay with any of their mechanical needs. His leg needs to be finished, it'll either be a mechanical leg, or I'll add a mutated foot like the other oblit. Notice this guy has a close combat attachment and claws, along with a lascannon, he is kind of the "all arounder" to the group, with the other completed one being all long range, and the next one will be all close ranged weapons.

Scale shot:

Next up is a plasma squad. They need to have the rust effect done, and their skin and all accessories need finishing as well. Also the champion needs to be finished, but I need more magnetized arms so that all the champs can have different wargear options.

Combat pose:

Lastly for now we have a Rhino I've built. It's supposed to show a nurgling infestation inside of it, and I really like the nurgling looking forward on the front left side. This will carry my squad of FW torso marines. This rhino is on stage 1 of painting, it'll get a dark brown coat over this, varnish, salt method, re-spraying of grey, and then the real painting shall commence.

That's all for now!

Wow, I'm not sure how I missed this before. You've got an awesome army in the works. It's one of the best I've seen in a long time.

If you'd like to see some of my nurgle works, you can check my gallery and my older project logs here on Dakka.

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

Great blog!
I have one question for you. How the heck do you sculpt the trim with the hard edges on the shoulderpad like you did on this guy? http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/8/12/257923_md-Chaos%2C%20Death%20Guard%2C%20Lords%20Of%20Decay%2C%20Nurgle%2C%20Plague%20Marines%2C%20Terminator%20Armor.JPG

Thanks for the responses!

@Cadaver: Your nurgle stuff is brilliant, it's one of the first armies I liked over at Papanurgle!

@LordofMuck: yeah, I'll try and get more wip's in as I go along, there sure are plenty of them!

@Linked: I place a rolled out cylinder of green stuff, and then press it down uniformly so that it shapes an approximate line, making sure that it's not raised in parts or bumpy or leaving gaps with the surrounding surfaces. Then I let it dry, and the next day, take an xacto knife to it to make the edges straight, and then sand down the flat part to get that sharp angle

Hey guys, just some quick pics to update the random stuff I've been working on:

Possessed Land Raider:

Rhino with extra armor and *maybe* possession as well. The Havoc launcher hasn't been made or bought yet.

I hate rivets now, and I haven't even done that many...

It's time for a little update!

First off, here's squad 3 of 4, bought, assembled, and ready for painting. Sorry for the blurriness.

I got lazy and just went and bought a squad instead of converting it

Secondly, I'm starting a little Dark Mechanicus side project to go along with the obliterators that I've built up for this army. Here's the first gun servitor:

I've got ideas for a whole squad of servitors, and that one above will need some work to make him a little chaos-ey. They already feel so dark, I don't want to go too overboard.

Good stuff, keep it up. The subtle kit bashing on the Plague Marines works. Servitor looks good too.

Truly great stuff. I love both the modelling and the painting style for this army, awesome.

Which heads have you used for your bare head marines, like in the plasma squad as they look really cool?

Yeah I really don't care much for terminators either, I use them for termicide and that's it, when they do their job they do it great, but if they fail they fail spectacularly. But I think they look good too, thanks

Well here we are again! I bring November goodies with me...

Let me just get this guy out of the way: I made a banner bearer for that last unit of plague marines:

Well I've started construction on my crashed ship. I've started with the engine compartment, as I figure it'll be the hardest part to do correctly. So far, the dimensions are 12" long by 10" wide by 4" tall, with an eventual height of 5". There is a lot of work left to be done on this bad boy. So far, I've only built the skeleton, placed the approximate location of the engine bloc and the secondary thruster plasma feeds, and some of the basic body work. Keep in mind that half the ship is buried in mud, so this is the upper half of it sticking out. The roof will be removable, and there is much detail work left to do, including the main thruster, all of the pipes, consoles, fuel, and the damage, especially the damage!

size comp:

sorry for the bad pic:

engine bloc:

nuclear fuel rods:

And now for something completely different!

The Captain of the crashed ship atop his captain's chair. In game, he will be a chaos lord with a daemon weapon on palanquin. He is hard wired into his chair, as he controls the ship, and he was wrenched out of it to go and inspect the damage on his own. He is carried aloft by 3 dark mechanicus servitors, as he physically cannot be removed from his chair anymore. He has become a bloated, pus filled, morbid creature, which has formed some daemonic characteristics over the millenia.

C&C appreciated!

The captain looks great, just my idea of how a navigator/captain should look, like he has grown to be a part of the ships daemon-possessed entity

It is looking very promising too, the ship engine compartment.

Where did you get the cool banner for that last banner bearer?

Thanks for the replies! I haven't been able to get a lot of work in, but the lord has managed to be fielded in a game where he obliterated 2 entire squads on his own so that's something B)

The banner is from the FW nurgle dread, with the side spiky things broken off.

Hey guys! It's time for..... an update! Yeah!

Well first things first, I got tired of using random dice and coins and junk for objective markers. So I went and made myself a pair to go with my army.2 Nurglings holding their objective, a vat of orange toxic goo. Oops he opened the spigot. Silly nurgling, the orange goo isn't for you:

Bored nurgling sitting in a barrelfull of maggots guarding some green toxic goo:

Together:

I also finally finished my Hell Blade's base:

Lastly! The Rhino's I've been working on. So funny story right, I got through the entire paintjob, and then realized that the color was off. Turns out I forgot to add 1 drop of blue along the way, and it came out too light. The damage came out well, but the color didn't come out anything like what I wanted. These 2 are pretty easy to spot how different they are from the others.I like this one:

I really don't like this one:

Well that's all for now, more stuff later this month!

Time for an update, it's only been... forever...

Valdor Tank Hunter!

There's a lot of work left to do on this guy, with the painting of the commander, to the painting of the energy source that I completely forgot to paint on the left side. I need ideas for what kind of freehand nurgle to do on this thing!

Land Raider

I'm really really pleased with the freehand Nurgle icon on the right side. The weathering on this guy is done, but again, I forgot to weather the lascannons on the right side (mainly because because I forgot to magnetize them like the other side was.) The horns and all of the small details still need to be finished.

Lastly, I leave you with what I'm working on now: A daemon prince, and a superheavy to deal loads of damage:

That's all for now folks! C&C, suggestions, everything is appreciated! I'll try to update more often than once in 4 months!

Yeah yeah it's been forever I know. Haven't had time really, plus I lost inspiration a while back in the midst of drowning in coursework. Nonetheless, here is what I've been working on: I've built and converted a close quarters monstrosity, the Stormsword, and I've almost finished 2 more Hell Blades for air support.

First up, stormsword. Here is the rust undercoat that'll show through as pockmarks later, I chose not to go with oil colors this time around as they get quite thick.

A lot of stuff is covered up at this stage, but as it gets painted it'll show more. There are cables coming out from damage, 3 nurglings, organic bits, and a bunch of little pockmarks everywhere. I didn't want to go overboard on this tank, as it already cost me so much, those treads are from Blood and Skulls industry on eBay and they're like $20 for both sides. All in all this tank, in materials, should cost me near $150 >_> Plus, as a centerpiece, it needs to show off the theme of the army, and that theme isn't overboard bio-nurgle.

Now for the Hell Blades, these are PIP as of now, with cockpit and details needing done. Plus bases too.

The red stripes identifying them as 2nd squadron came out awesomely I think, I'm really happy with these:

Well that's all for now, C&C, suggestions, etc?

What should be painted and/or built after these are completed? The options are: 2 squads of PM, 1 Dreadnought, Dreadclaw, chaos lord
