It's damn hard to get good pics by myself so I'll have to wait for Raven to come home so i can get some better ones of her holding it...

That looks fantastic! The light gray showing through the air vent holes is a bit disturbing but makes sense given that the sooty black is coming from the very end of the weapon and from the outside.

It's a small LED light with an orange plastic bit from a nerf gun glued onto it. Over that it matte clear tape which is put in strips then cut to give it an uneven
edge/texture. When the light is turned on the magic happens, aww yeah.
