Right in the middle of this:

A Hole and nothing to fit in. No left parts.
No hint in the manual, nothing to see on the box, in pics, etc

So what is this good for ???

Ideas welcome.

Stick a banner in it, well a pole for a banner, a rolled up banner on its own won't do much.

Failing that put cones and a fence round it, could do someone a nasty injury falling in there.

Guessing the knight has been designed so that at some point an upgrade will be released, or a second kit with further frames and something fits in there. You would have thought there was space on the frames to stick a simple flag pole or similar on though to stick in it. Possibly with a skull on it somewhere.

Are there the same holes in all the Knight Titan models? Maybe you got a kit with a missing part. Does the kit come with a parts list and assembly instructions?

No idea what it's _supposed_ to be for.

Either:
- find something small and round that fills the hole inconspicuously (e.g. the round vent on the back of some SM backpacks?)
- or use it to mount something, e.g. a banner pole or sensor or comms array

*runs off to check the other 3 kits...*
Yes, every kit has the same hole.
Nothing is missing on the sprues. Assembly instructions has pics now, you know. Pics ( birdview ) who don't show anything there....

Wouldn't bother dakka if this was just a single kit and maybe not meant to be a hole. But 4 times ?

I agree it doesn't look like a mistake. Rather something that isn't used in this build.

1st vote for a banner...

2nd vote for a banner..

Without codex options to use, a banner seems nice to have.

Anything else one could do?
Someone must have build IK's , am sure I'll find a ton in the Gallery....

Is this hole in the Knight's head or what I might call its "arse"?

The photo is taken from above....
You can't see its head or arse.

(The same position as GW used to show where the decals go.)

Because you don't have to glue the upper body onto the legs, you could look right through the body when dismounted.

Before you ask, yes the kit fits nicely, has movable parts, could be transported disassembled ( arms, body, legs ), has no casting flaws.

Under the couch

There were rumours early on that the Knight was originally supposed to come with some sort of carapace-mounted missile launcher.

I would suspect that the hole in question is there as the mounting point for that.

Knights are just begging for Foreworld Add-Ons to complete the range we saw in Titan legions, Power Fist, Power Lancer, Quake Cannons for the Wardens, and a detailed cockpit (else why have it -open-).

That hole, probably for a Banner for A hero or commander type.

<Rarity> I am not whining, I am complaining! Do you want to hear whining?

Thiiis is whiiiiining! Oooo, this mini is too expeennsive! I'm' going brrookee! Can't you make it cheaper? Oh, it's resin and not metal anymore! Why didn't you take it off the sprue first? That's gonna leave a pour spout, and the FLGS is so far away, WHY DO I HAVE TO SUPPORT IIIIIIIT?! </Rairty>

I saw some Forgeworld pics of the Cerastus Lancer and a Paladin next to it. The Paladin did have a sconce of some sort in that location.

I've seen some really cool conversions with warshrines/etc mounted on the back. That hole would make a good place to put a mounting point for one

I'd mount a banner pole in there and give it an awesome battle flag... and before anyone says impractical, it's a 100 foot tall walker with a chainsaw the size of a battle tank...

Ok, the height was just a guess (I use a DFG Leviathan as a Knight). Point is, it's still huge.

As the hole is in its head clearly it is a baby Knight Titan and this represents the fontanelle.

Either that or GW intend to release an add-on weapon with a new dataslate at some time.

avoiding the lorax on Crion

maybe a add on weapons system like missile launchers, plasma weaponry or even somthing useful like a AA weapon, enhanced sensers or some other bonus feature.

FW have already made one knight, doubt thats the last thing there going to do for the Knight range.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I vote for the baby Knight with fontanelle. Or, amuse your human infant by using the hole and some wire to suspend the Knight from ceiling as a mobile! Just take it down for games.

OPPONENT: Your Knight's heraldry is bright red and white with... sunflowers and bunnies?

It's not as noticeable when it's painted up, although you could always stick a flashy LED in it and make use that massive void under it for some batteries, even some fibre optics running to the eyes =S
