@Gits: Yeah, although the only reason I took the 'No Comprimise' route was because I had done such a lousy job of my first Black Templars and I wanted to go and repaint them to a great standard before working in unpainted stuff (like the Bikes, EC, LRC, Initiate Sqaud). And then I have the joys of painting up a Zombie Dragon for a friend...
Anyway, looking forward to the next update.

OK, finally an update of sorts with photos.
Here is the status of the bikes. They don't look like I've done much but I've actually worked my way though a number of colors and elements (metal, boots, pants, shirts, seats). Lots of the boring stuff. They'll look much more advanced once I get the belts, pouches and gloves done... though they won't really look done until I get the heads finished.
Also, for those of you clamoring for a whole-army shot... here you go!
...
OK, a little joke on my part. But I did get all my custom trays from Battlefoam and my entire army is indeed in there somewhere, with space for nearly everything that I think I'm going to paint in the future. At least now I can safely protect my hard work. Gave one of my old GW cases to Thing 1 so he can get all of his Doom Eagles safely put away.
Much to my surprise, Thing 1 wanted to play yesterday, so we whipped out two quick 500 point games (Mantis Warriors vs. Doom Eagles). I took pics so should get battle reports up soon.

Yanno, Gits...
I was really happy with the army, up until this point, but the overall army shot has left me a little...underwhelmed. I mean, the color is all off, the composition is crap, and, in general, crappy. CRAPPY.
Looking forward to the Batreps.

Good call with the battlefoam, you've spent enough time on these minis that they need protection.

That was an interesting bat rep. I can't say I've ever had a battle like that. The closest I've come to a cat and mouse game was a horde of tyranids hiding behind a rock from my guard the whole time.
I've seen people posting about how they like to be able to post advice for people who are less experienced than they are. To remedy your longing, please post your wisdom in my blog! (link in signature)

Both looked like really fun games. Cat and Mouse it may be but (unless I'm getting my things wrong) your boy seems to be getting better and better at tactics too. I think it was him who wouldn't finish playing a game because he had lost too many marines
Either way, what an unexpected bonus to be asked to play!

Hey Brother, you seen these yet?

I am afraid all my attempts at building a samurai helmet for 40k fell flat but these are pretty nice

Those are pretty spectacular! Problem is the heads you did for me are definitive... however... hmmm.... might be that these would be an appropriate replacements for the chaplain's skull helmets for my "late" MW force?? That idea has merit... don't you think? Unfortunately they aren't available yet.

While I realize they can't stand up to my genius sculpting I thought they may be cool to scatter through your army to add to the Japanese theme that the "new" MW are supposed to have.
Mind you if you are only going to need a couple then it will probably be time to whip out the GS.
I did kind of like the idea of the flags on the backpacks, and since they are similar to the ones you built for the Doom Eagle termies it may be an idea you could steal for your sergeants?

Actually, they've got a variety of bits I'd really like to get my hands on, but being that they're in Poland I'd rather not make multiple orders (as it takes forever to get stuff from over there). I'd planned on both the helmets and back-packs, but probably just one set. I think I can do what I need to with than many. The sergeant idea has merit. Tough call as I don't want to get away from the insect theme too much, especially since you've made me such a wide variety of helmets... yet they would fit in quite nicely with everything else & the overall Japanese theme. I should write and ask them when the cyber-samurai stuff is going to be available... they are expensive bits though... hate to think about what the final bill is going to be like.
