Oh I understand, but I'm on the opposite side: I've used Tenax forever and don't want to switch, but it's getting harder to find.

BTW, I found this article about Tamiya primer. There's also a hobby store nearby that's going out of business, so if you know what stock # your favorite is, I could see if they have any.

It's a bit of crazyness in our garage/workshop. Most people think it's a meth lab where others think it's paradise. I'm leaning towards the latter

Those are not mutually exclusive, you know.

Keep up the awesome!

I sincerely suspect that Foda is a rogue FW/GW magi, dissatisfied with the system, eventually formed his own forge and declared war on his previous forge brothers! Hehehehe

mindfield - I've honestly thought y'all would be a little bored of a few updates here and there saying "Got the first set of legs sanded" "Got the second set sanded."

Yep that's all we've accomplished we've got the 4 sets of legs sanded, next step is to double check them all and then prime them.

Sorry bout the implied impatience there Foda. The story is quite the same with my own titan project, it's alot of baby steps here and there. It's the quality of work that matters at the end of the story anyhow Good luck with the build, it's still going nicely, alot of people count on it to be awesome when theyre all standing and ready for priming

I second that. Just because it's boring or simple to you doesn't mean there's no info to share. I mean, what exactly are you sanding on those? Were the mold lines off? Were there lots of bubbles you had to fill? Does that mean something to you for how you might do the molds differently, etc, etc?

And, if nothing else, it lets us know that you're still working on it, which makes lots of people happy.

joshoftheforest - Thanks! And here ya go

D.Smith - Thanks!

mindfield - No offense taken. I get the same way with some of the p-logs i follow on here. Sometimes you just wish life would leave people alone so they could do their hobby It's too bad that the titan won't actually be standing in their primer coat and awaiting sanding. Due to the way the joints work they'll be totally disassembled. It would be really cool to see them in all white.

erw135 - Thanks! Fear not though, I hear Brian is working hard trying to get his warhound done so y'all will be facing his reaver and the hound.

Hatemonger - Thanks! The first set of sanding (which we finished last post) was so the paint would stick to the resin surface. The next coat of sanding will be where required over the primer. The primer coat for the bodies required a great bit of sanding while the coat of primer I just put down looks like it will not require as much sanding.

Two nights ago I put down the first coat of primer on the legs. After the things learned on the bodies we were able to put down a smoother primer coat than before. Basically we thinned the primer a little more, switched to a single action airbrush, and cranked the pressure up to 30 psi. This allowed nice even coats which will not (for the most part) require touch up sanding and re spraying.

After letting this sit I realized it was time to start thinking about a good red to start painting these guys. I'd done some research into Tamiya paint and they have a VERY limited red selection, so I started looking into my backup brand Gunze. I'd used the Mr Color line when painting some gundams in the past and really liked how forgiving it was. I looked at a list of their colors on Sprue Brothers and ordered one of each red they carried (with the exception of Metallic and fluorescent) . This would allow me to spray a small test piece in each color to figure out which one would work best. The one thing I don't want to do is mix colors on a project of this scale so I will be using something straight from the bottle.

Right now I'm leaning towards 327, Insignia Red FS11136.

That was all two nights ago. Last night on the other hand I was able to put down the remaining primer on the leg pieces and they're still looking just as beautiful as ever.

Next up is the toes and the crotch of this set and then onto the next 3 sets!

Could you maybe just primer a piece of plasticard of something and do a few test paint stripes to show us the different colors? It may help some of us who have yet to get into airbrushing figure out where we want to head!

I have had an airbrush for about 20 years, but haven't had an air compressor for about 19 years! I am hoping to get one this month, so I am super interested in air brushing techniques!

I have been following this build for a long time, but I don't remember if I have posted here before! If I haven't, this is probably the most impressive build I have ever seen! Can't wait to see it painted! (I know you hear that alot)

Keep up the great work!

Amazing work that you're doing on these. I just have to ask if if you have considered making kits for these on commission... once you've finished making the four of them? Just thought I'd ask since you have the molds and everything.
