How can we trust what you say now?

You can't. You can't trust anyone in this game, but I'm telling the truth, I am the Dire Avenger Exarch and a doctor role, assigned to guard the Farseer, at which I failed miserably, and now if I die I'd rather it was taking my revenge on the Dark Eldar than from you trying to take me down.

You're the one that suggested that a doctor role existed first. About four posts right after the night phase ended.

I wasn't entirely sure as to what powers the Farseer role had. I figured it was either a Sanction Psyker/Doctor (as they're sorta similar) or an Inquisitor Role (mindreader). Even know I can't be sure, but Rusty's hounding of LL leads me to believe it was an Inquisitor Role. I had always assumed that the Exarch role was more in kin with that of an Imperial Assassin, as they seemed more the warrior kind rather than a doctor.

What? If you are indeed a Doctor then you can protect yourself (I think ) and prevent any Dark Eldar attacks on you. Even if you're not the Doctor role, a good bluff could prevent Dark Kin or 'rouges' from wasting thier attacks on you. If you are a Dark Kin, you could be claiming such so that the renegade doesn't strike at you, or so that you survive the night and (having proved your 'doctor powers') can claim to be pro-town and other Citizens will flock to you.

Even so, revealing yourself in now in no way helps us. All you've done is drawn a lot of attention to yourself, likely from both sides of the fence.

It was an Inquisitor, yes and I was meant to be his bodyguard, making me the doctor. Also i'm not meant to be able to protect myself, Drk_O has already made that clear to me. The error forced me to reveal myself, and if some people don't trust me at day then all of a sudden I've found you some suspects, speaking of which-

Well Doctor I don't really like the idea of you identifying yourself like that. Probably would have been better if you didn't because at least you might have guarded a few likely targets. Or perhaps it is simply a trick in order to convince everyone not to vote for you so as to be driven away from one of the Dark Kin we hunt.

Simply to say, if you get lynched after declaring yourself the Doctor it will not confirm whether people are innocent or not. Which is why it's a good idea not to reveal roles at this point in the game.

I made a fatal error in using the words Dire Avenger when they hadn't been mentioned after Exarch, and was forced to explain and the only explaination is the truth.

Not ignoring, sorry, just after I saw your post I was too tired to continue any longer. Arheiner has said what he has said, so if he dies tonight then he was the Exarch/Doctor, and if not then... well, he will be a little more suspicious to us. Of course the Dark Kin could leave him alive (since his role is less useful now) just to divide us, but whatever else, I don't feel we'll gain anything by pressuring Arheiner more during this Day phase.

@avantgarde - I agree that joining a lynch at the last moment looks a bit off, as I pointed the finger at EF for this same thing, and yes, since you weren't instrumental in LL's death, it would be a difficult choice to make. I don't think you made the wrong choice, and I'm not saying I have the same feeling about you as I did about LL, but still... I absorbed an overall feeling that you were hiding something.

We've got a lot of work ahead of us today, with a massive deficit to deal with. The Dark Kin are winning 3-1, the archon was a good kill, but there's still 2 more of the blighters running around and we absolutely have to find at least one of them sooner rather than later.

I'd like a status update right about now....

In my defence I will state that I had made my intentions clear in the very midst of that debacle. I was hesitant to provide the 'crucial' vote in turning the tide from Vulkan to LL, as I felt my unvote of him had done enough in bringing the two levels close together. I made it clear that, while I agreed partly with Rusty, I wouldn't post a vote until others did becuase too much attention would be drawn to myself. It seems that not_u carried that particular cross.

As for Arheiner, surprisingly his revelation (if it can be trusted) does little to help one way or another. If he is lynched we get a doctor, or a citizen pulling some sort of stunt, or a Dark Kin. Or a renegade. If he dies in the night then he is either a Dark Kin (from renegade), a renegade (From Dark Eldar) or a pro town (killed by either). It doesn't really help us at all becuase, unlike an Inquisitor Role, the revelation of a doctor role doesn't really point to who could be a Dark Kin. This is why I find his "I'm trying to at least drag them down with me speech" slightly suspicious. How does his opinion, accusation, theories help identify Dark Kin, even if it turns out he's an innocent?

This is just vague, but I feel like maybe EF and avantgarde have something of a link. There's no proof, as EF points out, his unvoting of Vulkan made the LL lynch possible, but there's something about the way these two are dancing right now, somehow in the same sphere yet never quite touching.

But I am a lot more suspicious of Avantgarde.

I really don't think that 'subtle' accusations without any quotes to back such suspicions up are really helpful to anyone right now. I fail to see how I'm 'dancing' around Avantgarde. I've barely made two posts in direct conversation with him.

I have decided that if I cannot find a replacement in a week, I'll just kill off the spot, or resurect someone.

So if anyone can find anyone, point them in my direction.

In a few days time I might go back through some old posts and pull out more stuff, but I really can't do it more than once a week real time, it hurts my head.

That's becuase I honestly don't see what you find so suspicious about him. I'm more interested in this sudden 'Doctor' of ours. It could turn out to be very interesting, but unfortunately we won't have anything to go on before more bodies rock up.

IC: For some reason I just can't shake the feeling of this Doctor revealation being a trap. Whether it's purposely made or not I'm not sure. Either way it seems to be there to distract us from our hunt so to me it's really looking like he may just be a Dark Kin hiding in the light simply to throw enough confusion up so as to try help mask the others a little more. I just really don't believe someone could slip up like that.

Lies are silly things to do in one of these games. We have enough trouble working out truth as it is without lies.

@not_u: I get the same feeling. I really wouldn't have noticed that little 'Dire Avenger' slip up unless Arheiner specifically pointed it out to me (and the entire group). What did he have to gain from doing that? Nothing if he was actually he doctor. But it could work to draw out in the hands of a Dark Kin. (Or a really smart Citizen who is betting on the Doc protecting them this night)

@the_ferrett: You do realise that any Dark Kin players have pretty much been lying to us this whole time, right?

I'm currently expecting no one to actually say they are Dark Kin and it to somehow devolve into trying to prove who is lying.
