Those thousand sons are looking really impressive. The flame effect on Zahak's Khopesh is looking good.

Thank you all guys! I hope you'll like the rest of my army as well (even if you've seen its main elements).

I've added a little more light to the flames (a 1/1 drybrush of warlock purple and tentacle pink, ans finally some tentacle pink at the tip)

What do you think?

Here's a gneral view of Zahak.

One or two last details and he will finally be finished.

Thank you guys!

I'll be away for a week, far from internet and from my job, with almost forty cult marines to paint (16 TS and 24 emp kids).
We'll see what I'll get done next week!

Cheers!

Hi there!

I'm back from holidays, and to be honnest I have not done as much as I expected. I've just painted 16 rubric marines bodies of my TS army with a base of regal blue, and started to paint the Noise marines I had shelved last summer and pinned them to their Micro Art studio bases.
I've also finished to work on the modelling of my last Noise marines squad and my emp kids chosen ones the Sublime Guard.

Here are my latest noise marines:

the aspiring champion and blastmaster holder

and the Sublime Guard (I know I can't field 5 lightning claws pairs in a single squad ) :

What do you think?

When I'll have made some significant progress on the Emp Kids, I'll get back to my TS and finish my army.

Cheers!

Like the look of the Noise marines so far. i had done a similar thing with the blades from a chain axe as a mohawk on an old Zerker model I built. It suits the Noise marine a lot better though I think

Thank you guys!

As for Brother Bar'Brah, the colour scheme of most of Emperor's children army will be Black/Pink/Gold. Only for the Daemon Princes would it be different.
These two squads have now been undercoated with black, and some armour parts are going to be painted with Vallejo Squid Pink before receiving a 1/1 mixed wash of Baal Red and Leviathan Purple. Then I'll do some highlights and add some gold. I'll try to post some pics soon.

By the way, do you think white swirls on the pink parts of the armour (as I did on the Sonic dread) would look good?

About the TS army, I'm still working on the rhinos and making good use of my Insta Mold bars As always, pics will follow soon.

Now, about something completely different, wish me luck since tonight is the first official match of "Les Tauliers" ("The Bosses"), my Blood Bowl Halfling team who are entering the Mead Barrel League's Summer Cup!

Cheers!

Man, I won! 2 - 1 against a Chaos Team, and nearly not a scratch, these little guys are awesome!

While I was recently working with GS, I started a very small side project, converting some old models I own to a Khemri Blood Bowl team that I could lend to some of the younger players of our league who'd like to give a try.
Here are the first test models :

The helmets (of which you can see a very early WIP) were such a fail that I removed them and abandoned the idea.
Next time you'll see my first attempt at sculpting chains

I absolutely love the Blood Bowl direction you're going! Man I miss that game. I took it out and looked at it the other day and have decided that I need more gaming friends. I like 40K just fine, but the same ol' same ol' same over and over... I want to play Epic and Blood Bowl and things like that for a while. I would LOVE to get back into BB.

You know, maybe I'll just paint up some BB models once I decide to start painting miniatures again. I have a small collection of miniatures that never saw the attention they should have when I was playing BB back in the day (was more focused on playing that modeling).

Great work all around (really liking the Lightining Claw conversions), the BB stuff just really caught my interest. I especially like how you are taking the old Hero Quest mummies and re-puporseing them for what you want them to be. Brilliant use of "old and obsolete". I used all of mine for my WFB army (back before there was a VC and TK distinction).

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Time to bring this thread out of its cryogenic stasis for an update!

As I've mentioned it in my Gorkamorka thread, I'll soon be moving and most of my hobby stuff is packed, I've only kept two small backpacks full of plasticard and books, and my tools/bitz/paints box (a wonderful box, I love it). So the only things I can work on are those I kept accessible, which means no big stuff.

I was on holidays for the two last weeks and managed to get some work done on the Thousand Sons. 16 more rubric marines are nearly done, which means that the core of my TS army is almost finished, and I've started to work on the sorcerors and on the first rhino as well.

Here are the sorcerors:

The new GW white base is incredible! I've used two or three layers only to fully cover the black primer.

And here are the rhino parts:

I have to say that InstantMold is one of my new best friends! I still have to work on the front plate, but it should be done soon.

What do you guys think, should I put more arrows and chaotic stuff on it? Or keep it quite clean and simple?

Oh, and I finally convinced myself to work on a small imperial communication shrine that I had in mind for a while, to use as an objective. Here are the WIP pics:
A- the control panel:

B- the building:

It's far from being finished (as most of my projects ) but it was very fun to build.

And finally, good news, my beloved wife finally ordered my compressor, I should get it soon, and while it won't be easy to use it during the next few weeks for obvious reasons, I'll be ready to paint most of my buildings and vehicles by October

Cheers!

Looking pretty damn awesome so far! I especially like that shrine for some reason - it looks damn good for scratch-built.

Agreed on keeping the Rhino pretty clean - the Sons have never really struck me as a "ALL THE SPIKES!" kind of army, heh. But I admit I might be biased.

Thanks fo your advice guys, I'll just add some small marks of Tzeentch and perhaps some scrolls or seals of corruption on it to make it more detailed.

Thank you Meatshield, I just hope nothing will be damaged during the move.

Here is the rhino frontplate:

Perhaps a parchment would look nice on it. What do you think?

When the core of my TS army will be finished, I'll work on its daemonic allies:
Got a NIB metal fateweaver for half price last week and I've just toyed with the base

I think I might build an alternative base for Zahak on this basis too.

I also got 9 metal screamers on ebay last year(I won't use all of them in the allied force, but it's a good addition to my daemon army anyway)

I have not painted these models and will strip them later.

And while I was packing my stuff, I found some interesting models I had almost forgotten (shame on me)

I guess it's a good thing that I'll get one more free afternoon per week with my new job, painting time is precious to me (and to the hundreds on models still waiting in the dark drawers of shame)

Thank you guys! I'm glad you like what you see.

With the moving getting closer and the obligation of keeping my appartment clean for the hypothetical buyers who would come to visit it, I'm getting frustrated for not being able to work as I would like. However, yesterday was an important day for me and a great advancement to come for many of my projects because I FINALLY GOT A FETHING COMPRESSOR!!!WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I've been waiting to get one for so long and my beloved wife offered me one for my birthday (which was 2 months ago, but I'm patient).
I won't be able to work with it for two or three more weeks, but it's here... I think October will be a very busy month

Here are also the few progress on the com shrine:

and I should really add some candles:

40k, beer and kebab are still the best ingredients for an awesome evening! However, I too miss the fun there was until the third edition came (and the rise of the Dark Grimdarkness) when the game was colorful in every sense of the word. That's why I love Blood Bowl, necromunda and gorkamorka so much.
The clean appartment has its advantage (I don't have to clean the dinner table first before to start working ) but I can't wait to be able to work on something bigger, and over all to try my compressor.
