Looks like 'Collector's' range is next. A lot have 4 week deliveries.
I was going to order a unit of the fighting Cocks the other day, and they are gone now from the site.
The collectors are already going.

I saw that, and was frankly livid. My group was interested in doing BFG, two of them had the beginnings of fleets, and then splat, done, gone.
I'm glad I have the models, they look great (Metal apocalypse class was a bit infuriating to build, but it looks good done), and there's one fellow with a BFG Chaos fleet he's in the process of moving here from Saskatchewan (fear Canadian province names!), so I'll have one fellow to have decent sized games again, but otherwise, that's all she wrote. C'est la vie mes amis.
There were too many people "who were gonna", compared to those that actually did. This is the big reason Specialists games got yanked. I'm just glad I went on a spree and got a all the Warmaster stuff I wanted at the start of the year.

The Heresy won't end. They'll find new and excruciating ways to stretch it out, just like the BL book series.

Not truly on topic, but as a Tau player I love Forge World's offerings. Now playing with an adeptus Mechanicus IG set-up and think they have an awesome range of IG.
Having said that I am one of the always said I would do BFG, never did and now looking forlornly at the news...

You'd think with GW's business model they'd have moved WH30k to the main hard plastic line and farmed WH40k with it's troublesome Xenos/Sisters etc out to FW where it can live on lower sales volumes.......

Lol, tell me about it, I've actually given up reading them now. Game of Thrones and Wheel of Time were were/are hard enough going and they have less books.

I've not read any but they are good sellers in bookshop my wife works in. She manages the SF section and says they are one of her top sales. I've not got into them myself, but I'll probably get a couple towards the end of the range. If they ever do the Battle for Terra that is. I'm in the process of converting over all the files I found for BFG ship sprites. So far with simple editing in MSpaint, I can now field all of the common Imperial ships, even including some "close enough's" of the Voss-pattern ships that had the different prows. It's not nearly as good as having the ships in the flesh, but at the same time it means I can keep playing a favorite game without having to pay the scalpers on Ebay.
If GW keeps "insisting" like they do, so be it. I will be happy to oblige them and continue playing their very cool game, just now with absolutely no money going to GW at all.

Anyone who complains about how many Heresy books there are are not really a big fan of the 30k era.
They are still making 40k books.
What do you want the Heresy over in two trilogies.
Some of us love all the exrta info they can get,I for one hope it never ends.
And it will not there will always be Warhammer 30+k
After the heresy is the Scouring then Reign of Blood.
What I think and has been stated quite explicidly is Warhammer 40k will never hit 41k.
41k is the end of the world so to speak

I think you're confusing 'get to the ending already' with 'there is no reason for this book to exist'.
I like that they are padding it out a lot more but books like Battle for the Abyss and Nemesis don't really link to anything or give us much more info about the 30k era itself so they could easily have dropped them to get to the big events like Calth and stuff sooner.

Fafnir wrote:Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

While the setting might not advance much, the Ciaphas Cain novels make reference to M42 dates in some of the cutaways. Not quite the same as occurring in that time, but it does establish in canon that the Imperium still exists and is producing history books at least 58 years after year 41k.

Just an FYI: a few more BFG Ad Mech Cruisers and a Battleship may or may not pop up on the US site soon. Just cancelled everything from my order but a single Battleship. No guarantee, just a heads up since they already put in from the UK for them. Rep said they're back-ordered due to phasing out Specialist Games, too.

I think Battle for the Abyss is one of the weaker books, but it gives us the info that the Word Bearers are secretly developing 'super ships.' Not integral, but pretty important to, say, big events like Calth.
Nemesis is one of my favorites, and I think it adds a lot to the series. Tells us about the shadow wars being conducted. Gives us more insight to Horus' character. Tells us how a particular Captain dies that is referenced elsewhere...

Completely agree with this! Although I would say that I hope the ship gradually gets drawn towards the port, rather than never ending
Some of the books that 'go no-where' (in terms of them not really advancing the central storyline) are some of my favourites - the Dark Angel books, even BftA (which had one of the coolest World Eater characters in the series, and helped display the fractures that existed between the legions even before the heresy broke out).
