All the pieces are really good- it was a very productive month for you!

The Eldar are fascinating- particularly the scout-snipers. Really nice shading and there are several Earth environments that this color scheme would disappear into, let alone the vastness of space in the 41st century....

Very well done indeed.

Cheers everyone, I have been happy with the progress on the new Eldar and templar armies, and on that note...

First up are the new Dark Reapers. I really like this kit, just wish there were more poses for the Reapers themselves. I went with classic black armour and an orange topknot to tie them into the Lugganath colour scheme:

And here they are with their little shrine mascot:

And what would the Dark reapers be without their Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra? I was torn by this sculpt, but have grown to love it. However the head just seemed a bit small to me, so I swapped it with the cowled Exarch head from the new kit. This got the blessing from the Ra sculptor Darren Latham on Instagram so I am happy with that.

Finally from the new Eldar I painted up the new Guardian kit, I went Defenders with Shurikens all round:

Finally I completed Grimaldus and his retinue. Just a minor pose change with Grimaldus and his Crozius, I lowered it giving him a bit more attitude rather than the "look, here is my Crozius" pose that was far to similar to the raised sword arm on the Emperor's Champion:

So just over halfway through March and 22 miniatures painted, the progress train continues!

Lovely work continuing LTMW, the Orange on the Eldar is and it’s good to see it getting a spot on all of the Aspect Warriors and even your Phoenix Lords. The headswap worked well, and glad to hear it garnered the praise it deserved.

The pose change on Grimaldus certainly gave him more attitude, may be even some sass!? You go Grimfriend! Sorry!

It’s good to see that order is restored and you’re ahead of me as usual on the miniatures completed for the year (at least I think you are but I have t done the maths)

Thanks, gobert. Now I am looking at a "sassy" Grimaldus.

Never, ever sad to see Reapers. They turned out great. Love the orange spot color. Maugan Ra also looks pretty awesome. I wonder if he will be like the Judiciar, where he is a model that you won't see a lot of stock versions of.

Damn I love your orange Eldar, lovely work. I can't wait to get started on my own Eldar next month when the boxes get released. The reapers look really nice, as does Maugan Ra.

I think a different camera angle makes all the difference for how much I like that model, the pose looks brilliant like that. Nice work on the bone colour.

Too kind everyone, must admit that I am really enjoying painting the Space Elves. To that end I have painted up a plastic Seer Council with the addition of 4 Warlocks added yo my Farseer from earlier I the learning .Lots of orange here:

The Warlocks are pretty much stock with a further head and sword from the Skyrunner Warlock kit and a Shuriken pistol arm from the Rangers kit.

Thanks for looking

Good job getting them to look like individuals. The guy with the Ranger arm has a really good pose.

Lots of orange indeed! Great work getting them to not look like twins, it took me a couple of closer inspections to see they had matching bodies

The seer council is looking really good, it's nice to see the new models being used and made to look different. So far I've only got a couple of them but, despite the price, will likely expand it further like you have

The Ranger arms are definitely a good call for adding variety

It's total heresy, but even I must admit, that those space elves look mighty fine. Good thing you counter-balanced it with those Black Templars

The warlocks look awesome, I really like the black cloak of the farseer, that's a nice colour change.

My only incy wincy teeny tiny suggestion would be to change the colour of the top knot on the warlock with the spear. Maybe the black would go better with the contrast? Like a reversal of your awesome dark reapers. Either way they look fantastic.

I love Grimaldus - The matte black you have achieved is wonderful

Cheers Slinky, think it is luck rather than judgement!

@Olthannon: Fair call on the black topknot call, I just need a bit of yellow to tie them into a traditional Lugganath scheme (the original have yellow faceplates iirc). Plus yellow topknots are a theme throughout the army now.

@Viterbi: I really need to get some more Templars painted up these next couple of months.

@Endtransmission: After dealing with some atrocious finecast lately I am just happy that they are in plastic.

@Gobert: If only there were a few more bits in the kit, what could have been!

@Youwasshock: I was happy with that pose most of all, cheers!

So March is in the books, all told I painted 40 miniatures taking me to 92 for the year so far so not too shabby.

So what did I add?

First up is another Lion, before a sea of Eldar. Captain Perros Gerrad of The Knights Of Rann was sequestered to the Lions from The Imperial Fists to help rebuild the chapter:

So onto the Eldar. After the Guardian Defenders last time I have added a Storm Guardian squad, mostly shuriken pistols and close combat weapons but also a couple of fusion guns and a Sepeant platform:

I also knocked out a Farseer on Jetbike, not my best work but done is done:

Finally is Jain Zar, The Storm Of Silence. Great fun painting this one up, I think a lot of people slept on this release but it is one hell of a miniature:

As ever, thanks for looking.

Another great haul LTMW, Jain came out really well. How she doesn’t trip over that hair or the ribbons I’ll never know! . Loving the Imperial Fist Lion, really cool. I like how your head canon has him becoming a Lion to bolster their numbers.

Jain Zar is wonderful. I agree that she's a great mini, and I have almost picked her up multiple times. However, that meant that if Maugan Ra was ever re-made (which eventually happened) that I would have two new Phoenix Lord's. At that point I would be compelled to buy any more that were released, and that seemed like setting a trap for myself.

Awesome stuff and another stellar month.

Rad.

Nice and vibrant. Plenty of heat. I sound like Guy Fieri after a bite of some bomb sandwich. Turned out great, ListenToMeWarriors! Is there any particular reason you went with the "classic" look, sword/horns? I am torn on which configuration for when I get this model.

Love the latest batch, the Eldar are extremely cool, Jain Zar is very impressive. The avatar looks really cool, love the classic paint job. Great job on the blood as well.

To me the new variations of the Avatar are all well and good, but the real test is how it handles the traditional build and paint job, and you absolutely show off the model, but also the freehand goes far beyond the model. Great work!

That Avatar is incredible. Great work on a whole batch of eldar, and the Lion Fist Captain, but the Avatar takes the cake.

@YWS:Well I went classic as I was going to be painting another one...see the next pictures.

@Olthannon: Thank you.

@Gwyn: The tabard is transfers rather than freehand, no way that I could do that!

@DJJazzyJeff: Thank you Sir *doffs cap*.

So YWS the reason I went classic is I had an idea for a 2nd Avatar.

In the Eldar codex description of the Avatar when is in statue form in the Craftworld:

"When not roused for war...a towering statue of iron, the Avatar's heavily muscled form is pitted with age and encrusted with corrosion".

Which led to:

And with the other one:

Really happy with them both.

I also knocked out a Wave Serpent for the army:

And finally for my Templars I did a second Redemptor Dreadnought:

So it looks like april is a month for bigger models. That said I am currently working on some Templar Outriders and another Fareer.

Thanks for looking

Oh, that's cool. Very evocative, not only of the lore, but of the Talos from Greek myth. Wave Serpent looks very clean and Redemptor 2 is awesome.

I love how you nonchalantly knocked out a wave serpent, oh and a redemptor! they look really cool but the Avatars are spectacular, the golem looking version is really cool.

Amazing work, I'm always happy to see all those minis on Instagram before I get the detail shots here. The idea with the second avatar is amazing, but I gotta support gobert, you're playing it fast and loose with the speed and quality of how you knock those minis out

Thank you everyone, first up is some Eldar progress.

This Farseer kitbash is made from a finecast body with plastic head and singing spear:

As part of bigger model April I also did a LOW in the form of a Wraithknight...I kindof slept on this model but really enjoyed painting it up:

Which leads me to an army shot, here we were a week ago.My first Eldar miniature was painted on January 17th of this year. I am really proud of how i have done with this army.

Away from Eldar I did another unit for my "quick and dirty" Templars, this time some Outriders:

Finally I did my final model for my House Herpetrax Chaos Knight army, the mighty Knight Tyrant. This one has knee and waist joints from Taromodelmaker togive it a bit more size:

And finally my whole Herpetrax army:

Thanks for looking.
