Your ork stuff looks fantastic Sigur. I plan on collecting and painting up a bad moon force sometime in the future as I really like the yellow and green colour combo. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

*The letters on the chest armour of the Dreadnought read "chryseon genos" which means something like "golden age" in ancient greek. Thought I'd stick to the greek theme in terms of mottos and names on the pre-heresy guys.

It's still WIP of course. The plan is to get these guys finished rather quickly (by tomorrow) and then go straight on to a bunch of really cool Salamanders stuff. :yes:

Wow... that's tremendous!

New models look great Sigur. Only nitpick I have is with the left most jump pack marine. His axe hand is at a really weird angle making the whole pose a bit "off". Otherwise the painting is great and like the use of the other FW weapons. The powerfist is definitely a cool bit since it shows the actual hand portion within the "fist".

@Eggroll: Cheers. Good spotting there, the pose indeed looks a little off. Also, the leather straps on the handle below the hand and above the hand don't really match but he looks alright enough. I didn't assemble the models (gosh, I haven't assembled a model in a while. Seems like many people enjoy modelling but painting the things less so ).

Sigur, that Contemptor is insane! I'm loving your pre-heresy World Eaters altogether, but that dread is just intimidating.

The World Eaters are continuing to look good, Sigur - do you have many of them left to do?

Fantastic work, I love the spatters! i'm playing with blood myself at the moment, i've been working out my own methods, but one thing's certain, you need to be strategic so it conveys the tone or message you want on the mini's and you've got it down! you can totally feel that they are just swinging through bodies with glorious abandon, spraying hot arterial blood over themselves in reverence to their new master....

No matter what any one says, painting blood and gore is just as much an art as anything else! If it is done well that is!

it's the beautiful art of painting models and then adding beautiful gore! in a totally beautiful way! and yes, i do think that mini painting is an art form, sigur is on par with M.C Escher in my mind!

Good god man! everything looks great! those Orks are exactly as they should be, weather worn and slap dash without being broken down! and those sallies! OMG I love seeing them come to life, all that heresy armour made my mouth water! you do it so well! just don't do too much too soon, or i'll give up on my DE and head back to my Salamanders, just when I'm getting into the swing of them as well! :-)

p.s my blood i was working on did actually turn out well!

On a more on topic note, what sealer/varnish (if any) do you use on your models? Ive had a lot of trouble trying to find what im looking for.

The Orks look great. The battle damage is spot on, not too much and not too little.

Man, that Pre-Heresy Dreadnought is god damn amazing. I'm very jealous!

The only way this thread could be better is if there were a sexy lady dance party near the end. Even then, id probably be too interested in the highlighting to notice.

Both the Salamanders and the Evil Suns are looking very nice, its funny how both armies use flames on their armour though I'm sure its a conspiracy lol

@D.Smith: Thanks very much. I don't use vanish on plastic miniatures unless requested specifically and if I do, I go for brush-on stuff. I got some matte one by Vallejo and Coat d'Arms, the glossy one from GW and a company called DekoArt.

@Zarkin: Cheers. I was about to suggest to hire my services if you want a Contemptor Dread like that for your own but then I noticed that you're doing commission work as well.

@Celtic Strike: Hehehe, that's how you recognize the real devout miniature lover. As for the smecksy dancing ladies..I DID considere getting some Hasslefree miniatures....

Hey, hey! I know it's been a bit quiet lately, mainly because I have been on a little trip for the past two days in which I luckily found the time to pay a visit to a nice tabletop gaming shop/gaming venue in Salzburg. I got meself the plastic Dark Elves Sorceress as a kind of souvenir and a White Dwarf from 1995. Very nice place, there and it's cool how different gaming stores can be. This one is basically a coffee place/gaming venue at which you can buy models and such as well. Very friendly people there, too.

Anyhow, after a long sleep after driving for over 10 hours in two days I went on to finish the Slamanders tactical Squads:
