Subject: October release: "Dread Fleet" - Fantasy naval game (pics and content list page 15 and 16)
He's one of the old gods so to say, from before Sigmar was around. Chances are that when she was cast out by the vikings she went to Sartosa, claimed that her mutations are a gift from the fishy god and that's the reason why?
edit.
Oh and thanks, now I got that tune in my head again.

Dan: The Swordfysh is one of my favourite ships in the game and there are few characters in Warhammer as bizarre as Aranessa - she cut off her own mutated fish tail and replaced it with peg legs made from swordfish blades. You can't get much more Warhammer than that.
I think this gives weight to the mermaid argument
The fluff looks interesting, the art seems great, the boats are cool, but I don't even have time to build/paint/play with my 40k minis so I will not get it. The few abilities they've shown on the GW website point to a fun game alltogether. In my opinion anyway.
And the price? Eh, I'd say it's worth it.

Missed that bit on the site then, WD didn't mention it like that. Sucks to be her then.

Because a pirate with two peg legs is the kind of idea other people make fun of. Having a mermaid cut herself in half so that she can hop around as some kind of living farce is not the mark of a setting I can appreciate.

htj, maybe I imagined it... I searched back to page 15 and all I found was this comment:

So now you have a better Man'o'War (Spartan) AND a boxed game with terrain in the same scale. That seems better than what you prosposed.
There's also this scale shot:
But we'll probably need to wait until someone has the ships in-hand to get a real scale shot comparison between these and Spartan Games ships.

I saw those two on my second run through and they pretty much answered my question near as we're gonna get, I think. I reckon they'll be a little smaller than Spartan stuff but just in a way that they'll look like small ships. I've ordered this because I like the models, so I'll put up some comparison shots when they come but I've only got DW stuff, so it may not be all that useful.

I'd love to see a comparison shot, when you get them!

Hm... a pirate with 2 peg legs? Where have I seen this before?
Oh, wait:
Please tell me that one of the pirates is completely blind, too? It would completely explain how ridiculous Dreadfleets is.
