awesome. Is it at a wearable point yet? I'd like to see how it'll fit, more or less. That is, besides the illustration you have already provided...

The start of a nice mech collection. Are you just collecting the Dreads, or will you branch out later?

No kidding? 8lb sledge on all that cardboard?

@Mike: a paintball mech costume would rule!

Good progress on your costume! I like the painting on your 28mm dreads, too... not to mention the chainsaw.

Epic in scale. I've wanted to do a Marine costume for a while, the dread is a great idea. I don't think you will be able to pull this off at all, but it will be fun seeing what you do. Good luck.

Take lots of pics - If you manage to pull it off everyone would be interested to see the in-progress ones. And good luck you're insane. But if it were accomplished - sweet.

What other possibilities, that would be cool just to make a 6' tall Warhound costume.

Only if your knees bend backwards.

Warlord or Imperator might be doable, though.....

Actually if you wanted to do a warhound there is a simple way to make a reverse bend prostetic that you stand in similar to a stilt. People use them in minotaur and other costumes with reverse hinged ankles or knees. You can find it on youtube and other fantasy costume suits. If you wanted to use it in a war hoiund you could then make the costume even taller because of the reverse hinge and stand in it comfortably. Probably closer to 9-10 feet tall.

*Edit* Actually because of the shape of the war hound you would technically be sitting comfortably if you did this properly. Which would be an added benefit over most costumes.

Like the velociraptors legs.

They use fog and lighting to hide the puppeteer though.

No I ment actually building a leg you stand in with your ankle being where the reverse hinge is like these:

http://www.geekologie.com/2009/04/scary_these_crazy_animal_leg_e.php

But there are other simpler ways to do it that people have documented all over the place using just common components.

Let's see if I got this right: Your goal is to basically stand inside this cardboard monster and move with internal, un-powered pnuematic helping you move this beast whilst the air inside is cooled by a set of computer fans?
