A small tidbit by an unknown rumour poster called undeadgoblin over at Warseer:

There's a total of 4 large monsters to be released ( 2 of which are dragons - one dark elf 1 chaos I'm assuming ) including the previewed ones in the GW article.

It is essentially WFB Apocalypse - you need at least 3000 points aside, there will be "assets" and formations etc.

A primary reason for it being made is so the Warhammer Forge stuff can be used in games.

Interesting, this means updated Chaos Mammoth rules? Although imo it seems "smaller" than apocalypse since in Apoc they had dozens of units to put in since FW had so much imperial armor stuff. WOnder how broken some of the assets are

I haven't seen it yet, although I may soon, possibly get a game for it during the next few weeks. The Fantasy thing at GD is designed around SoM, so I assume it is final.

I miss when Tzeentch had a Lvl 5 Caster...

I hope that all 4 kits they release are dual purpose, ie two creatures from one kit, an example would be how a manticore and chimera both have the body of a lion. Like others I'd love to see the appropriate creatures for the transformation of Kadon. I am curious about the terrain, I'd like to see a dual purpose river/road set which would be banks either side of a lightly textured base that could be painted to represent either terrain. I'd also like a pond/lake swamp that would be impassable but not block line of sight. Another idea would be a graveyard sprue with a small-ish mausoleum, walls and various tombstones.

It'll be all fun and games until someone brings an Emperor Fire Dragon.

I am thrilled to hear that this is being treated like WHFB: APOC. Because then I can ignore it.

AFAIK it's a proper deadtree/book release.

I might take interest in WHF if they halve the price of the core rulebook and army books. I refused to spend $80 on a rulebook, seriously, feth that noise.

I guess a manticore or black dragon for my Dark Elves would be cool...but honestly I'm more interested in my core troops not being butt-ugly. Speaking of which DE never did get a second wave...

You can always get the starter box rules book on ebay for cheap, but then again the big hardcover is quite an inspiring book with 30 pages more of scenarios and another 70 to makes your own (incl. campaign planning). But then again, Fantasy is not cheap, esp. not with the new and higher standard for army size.

Dark Elf second wave seems done for quite a while and is just waiting for a release slot. Don't know if it comes this year.

That army size thing is another reason why I said to hell with it. And I know it's going to happen with 40k when 6th edition comes out, and I'll probably have to quit 40k because of it, too.

I don't know if Dark Elves are coming, but another 'evil' race is getting a second wave.
Due to GW's rumour clampdown I'll have to wait a bit longer before revealing more to protect my sources at GW.

There's also some rumours that Vampire Counts might be getting something else.

IMO the old ZD is just fine. Now, lower its cost so i can actually field it in games under 75k pts...
