No the real reason behind the whoresy is actually because when Horus went off to get some more members for his... ehm.... "chapter" the emporer finally broke it to him that prostition was illegal and at that point Horus went off and told some of the other primarchs and they got really angry so they decide to rebel

Fulgrim *IS* a Primarch, Abaddon is a mere Space Marine. Additionally, Fulgrim didn't kill any Primarch's, he sat imprisoned in the back of his possessed mind crashing into the depths of insanity and self loathing while a Daemon took over his body and killed them.

Imo Abaddon was a douche even during the HH novels. I mean how would the First captain of the legendary luna wolves get pushed around by Garviel loken? *as awesome as he was* ... Second, you kinda gotta blame GW for the fact the Black Crusades aren't doing anything, that along with the fact that there just isn't enough CSM's to do meaningful damage to the Imperium without Daemon support is a major play in Abaddon's failing.

Dont get me wrong, i support some CSM's (Night lords, Alpha's, Iron warriors) due to their tactics and usually effectiveness, but i still think abaddon's tactics of rushing the cadian gate in an all out offensive is just such a dick'ish move which loses unnecessary amounts of troops.

In total, Abaddon's Tactical 'lack' of Genius + GW's love of a static story line = the Brain child we call Failbaddon!......

You sir, clearly do not know what you are talking about. First of all, Fulgrim was not in control of his body when he killed those two, a badarse Daemon was. Secondly, Rogal Dorn was slain by a Black Crusade (1),(3). Abaddon planned, created, and commanded the Black Crusade that killed Rogal Dorn(2),(4). Therefore, he was responsible for his death. If Abaddon had not existed, Rogal Dorn would still be alive and annoying.

Rogal Dorn was not killed. His death is not canon, as in some versions only his hand was found rather than his whole skeleton, and also his not-canon death was not at the hands of someone else, he destroyed a massive chaos space marine fleet that would threaten the entire Imperium nearly single-handedly, and detonated a ship while inside it.

Other than Sanguinius, Rogal Dorn was by FAR the greatest Primarch (including traitors).

Third would be russ.

Then Corax.

Then Vulkan.

The rest were pansies.

Perhaps a new "Chaos Champion" should be introduced? I've grown tired of Abbadon, I'd like to see someone new step up to the table, i have no idea who though. (Just my theory)

So they're both out. I'd like to see a Fallen Primarch take over the "leader" role of the Chaos forces. Fulgrim or Lorgar would be a great choice (especially since they'd have sweet stats and are expendable fluff-wise).

I agree, a fallen primarch would make a great "replacement" for heading black crusades, seems to make more sence to me. Not to mention their models would look pretty sick.

What about the Ancient Daemon Prince? The first one?

Perhaps a reason for Abbadon sucking so much is because he does it on PURPOSE so he doesn't bring about the end times where Russ and Corax come back from the warp, Gulliman and Johnson heal and wake up and they all put a hurtin' on him?? A bit outlandiish but I find it humerous.

Abbaddon was also not 'pushed around' by Loken, ever. Loken was 'killed' by Addaddon, and Loken was also pushed pretty much out of any command role by The First Captain.

And he's not Genghis Khan in daemon form. He IS Genghis Khan. Supposedly it is plausible since khorne was formed around that point in time and would need to start recruiting daemons...and who better to pick than a man who killed 40 million men with nothing but arrows and pointy sticks?

GW should do some artwork for him. They haven't given the single most bad-ass thing in all wh40k an image. Not one.

He's just about the only thing that is still grimdark...the rest is a bit too much like saturday morning cartoon villains vs. G.I. Joe.

The problem is that Abbadon never had any chance of doing anything. GW won't allow their precious IoM to fail like WFB Imperium.
IoM has many opponents up there but it's strong enough to withstand anything thrown their way. The impending doom of 40k is not as strong as WFB's.
I know that 40k is not flowers and rainbows but the biggest threats besides Chaos are not active (Necrons), unknown and far away (Tyranid) or fight each other (Orks).

Chaos is divided but there is an idea of one hero who could lead them all and seriously IoM. That means that currently Abbadon should be the main antagonist but due to all the failures he's become a caricature. Just like people don't like Drago because he's too good for what he is people don't like Abbadon because he's too big a failure and had little impact for such a "powerful" chaos champion.

People don't like Abbadon in my neighbourhood because he could be wearing a black cloak and have long pointy moustache. He's supposed to be evil and dangerous, but you know he won't do anything and you know he'll be beaten. He might as well be cartoony, stereotypical evil man.

Yeah, because GW are actually going to let the protagonists of the universe fail massively.
I agree completely with the rest though, Abbaddon has just become a joke because, despite being painted as an almighty Chaos Champion that poses a massive threat the whole Imperium, he hasn't achieved anything worthy of note. Maybe if he'd had say, three Black Crusades, where the most recent, the Third, actually shattered much of the Cadian Gate, with the Imperium frantically trying to defend it, and Abbaddon himself actually did something amazing himself, like participated in a duel with Jarran Kell and was ultimately pushed back by a bunch of Kasrkins after mortally wounding Kell whilst he tried to defend Creed at the gates of Cadias greatest city, then he'd deserve the image GW puts on him.
