I have learned that roughly only about half of the general populous irritate the gak out of me, I had it up to about 90% easy before I started using a public forum.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

That might have something to do with 90% of people in real life quickly realising you are not to be fethed with.

You think? I don't think I could play properly until I started reading those forums!

I reckon I would only come second last instead of dead last next tourney anyway.

When did you start reading them?

The quality has dropped over the last couple years, IMHO. It was pretty solid before, now a lot of it smacks of... um... let's just say it reminds me of other, less reputable forums. Which isn't to say that there isn't some good advice being given there, you just have to sort out a lot of crap to find the gold. Signal to noise, and all that.

Yea I used to live in the tactics forums, but sum bitch I just can stand it anymore. Id say 80%ish is just crap that people have read somewhere and copypasted it here. No actual skill or experience ever doing what they say they have done. Not to mention the rest of it is pretty much "Oh play this net list, not that netlist" No thanks.

When I have a tactics question, I tend to PM it to someone I know who plays that army. Depending on the answer I get, I try to encourage them to make a thread. Tactics threads are tricky because there's not much incentive to post them unless you are one of those rare few who actually goes out of your way to help others or one of the slightly less rare individuals who gets your jollies by asserting your superiority over others via a miniatures wargaming forum. In either case, your efforts are bound to be met by folks who disagree with you on a poor basis and waste your time with arguments that don't even address what you're saying.

Of course, that never stopped anyone from posting in the OT. I guess the real difference is that posting in Tactics requires more thought and effort.

Ha! Spot on, Manchu. What gets my goat is when people are advising taking demonstrably bad units because they have a chip on their shoulder about it.

No newbie should ever be advised to take Flash Gits for anything other than theme reasons.

Considering that they're Elites (a sub-par slot for CSM outside of Termicide) and have infiltrate for only 3pts more than a regular CSM, plus the ability to take 5 meltaguns, they can be a very, very good unit; 175pts for 5 BS4 meltaguns in an outflanking rhino is still 5pts cheaper than the cheapest Fire Dragon + Wave Serpent delivery unit.

But enough tactics talk, this is OT!

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Of course I could forget this little piece of advice.
"Maybe your attracted to immature girls because they think you'll shpdoink them."

Also our relationship and what you find weird about the opposite gender thread was amazingly funny and I have used it to become friends with a few girls.

Also became a better writer due to people requesting my stuff was out of the ordinary. Now my writing in creative writing is the best in the class. As I write everything in a Romantic (Big R, not little r.) style. I focus more on the feelings of a good character, and a kinda marry sue character.

Also I learned so many things like how to BLAME THE VICTIM, "The Imperium does advance like that of a slowed slug", Doombread is tastless, Ifstatement is a jerk, I am a Internet tough guy, I apparently play too much 40k due to this thread... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/1290/219300.page#1222349
