I bumped up to the $100 dollar level for the stretch goals. It's passed 50k now so I have no doubt we'll hit the 60k at least.

Definitely interested in this, looks like a real quality product!

Does anyone know what kind of scale the models are? I was hoping to use them in amongst Infinity models, as well as for the board game itself. They don't appear to be 'heroically scaled' which is a big bonus, but I would be very grateful if anyone could comment on the model size itself!

I haven't seen the ones from the board games, but the metals seem to be 28-30mm scale.

Mind you, Mike is keeping an eye on this thread now, so he might be able to give you a better answer.

I thought Mike was referring to the Studio McVey resins, as opposed to these Sedition Wars figures.

Okay, I was hesitant at first, but seeing 34 days left to found, and reading through the stretch stuff, I kicked in 100 bucks for the biohazard level. Totally worth it.

Wow this is going so fast, 5k$ and 34 days for the 60k stretch goal. I wonder what a 80k update would look like

Fair enough.

1. Personal preference, these miniatures are samey and are a small standalone game that looks like it will need expanding on to be any good. If I wanted something like that I would pick up Infinity.

2. I don't like the miniatures much, sure they are nice sculpts, but they aren't for me.

3. Too many games in this genre. I will stick with my collections of AT-43 and 40K frankly. I can use those miniatures to make up what I want.

Hey some people are entitled to their own opinion. At least he gave a detailed and imo reasonably well thought out resposne

1. I do agree that the sculpts, even with the added ones, do get a bit samey. Not saying McVey is bad but some people dont like too many monoposed figs especially after years of dealing with multi part plastic or the like (and boardgames in general always have monoposed figs). Now I just so happen though to not be bothered by them too much

2. Some people may dont like the super clean sci fi soldier or the robot space zombie infection aesthetic. Theres also maybe scale or other factors

3. There are already a lot of sci fi games out there, both board game and wargame variants from Infinity to Dust. In fact mantic already has their Project Pandora board game up for a month or so now (well swap space zombies with space rats), not to mention the venerable Space Hulk. I'm not saying "Zomg McVey is totally unoriginal with this space corridor "The Thing" type gameplay", just that some people may feel at the market may be a bit saturated

I'm watching this with interest. As with Zombicide, stretch goals may prove if I jump in or not, but I'm already tempted with just what they have come up with so far.

We don't plan to introduce the Firebrand just yet - they are going to come in at the same time as the 4th faction - Bounty Hunters.

We have some cool things planed for Stretch Goals though - can't wait to tell you about them

Just to clarify - all Sedition Wars miniatures are 28mm, even the LE ones (like the Kara on KS).

I was referring to the Studio McVey Limited Edition Line (the miniatures of various genre miniatures) being 35mm.

This game will probably end up in the Zombicide/Ogre range: $700K - 900K.

So I really can't wait to see what the stretch goals will be!

Hi Mike,

Really appreciate you posting here about this release. I have a couple of questions about the kickstarter:

1. Are the stretch bonuses per pledge or per copy of the game? e.g. I pledge $190 for two copies (one for me and one for a friend) will we get two sets of 12 extra troopers, or just the one? (I'm obviously assuming the $60k level as a given here).
2. Any possibility of adding an option to buy four sets all at once? (Our interest is mostly contingent on the answer to the previous question I guess).

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve - I'm more than happy to answer any questions about the game I can. If they are tool rules technical - I'll prod Rob Baxter (the game designer) and get him to chip in.

1. If you pledge 'We've got Movement!' ($190) - it means you get two of everything you would get at the 'Biohazard' $100 level. So two copies of the game, two LE karas, two vanguard patches, etc - and two sets of all the stretch goals linked to the Biohazard level pledge.

Clear?

2. Not sure. I'll check with cmon and get back to you.

cheers!

Same here!

And since this is being done by some of the same people behind Zombicide, I think the stretch goals will be similarly attractive and drive this game up to the $700K + territory.

The only 'downside' is that we'll probably have to wait a while to see all the goals...

Sadly mine didn't even last the long, about 3 hours after it went on Kickstarter but the models look amazing, been keep
tabs on this since it was previewed on Beasts of war.
