Given that PA/TDA is an exoskeltal armor, I think we're going to need Xibit to explain how GW heard that we liked Knights in Exoskeletal Armor so they put our Knights in Exoskeletal Armor *in* ExoskeletalArmor so we could have a Knight in Exoskeletal Armor in our Exoskeletal Armor...

OK, yeah, when you imagine Xibit explaining it sounds incredibly dumb in concept.

We'll see, but after the Penitent Engine and box-stock Defiler, along with the latest StormRaven being "phoned in", I'm not so hopeful.

The art isn't terrible, but it is kinda silly.

Oh, I liked them in said movies and I hoped that it just meant that we were getting the Penitent Engine instead, but this is sounding trying to make something cool and overdoing it. I'll just have to see how the model looks and hope that it doesn't steal the Dreadnought's thunder.

I guess the best we can hope for is some sort of modified "Throne of Judgment" looking thing?

I have to be honest, I can't imagine GW pulling this one off.

But, at least it will allow for some cool 'counts as' stuff!

It will be fine, just look how well-received the Stormraven kit has been.

I guess I don't understand why GK's need these walkers to fight greater demons. Isn't that what demon hammers and nemesis force weapons are for? What about faith in the emperor?

While you maybe could take out Brock Lesnar with a billy club - I bet you'd rather hit him with an armored car if you had the choice...

Techmarine Gastro was well known for his bowel issues, and so none of his battle-brothers were surprised when one day he took to battle in his new creation, the mobile "throne".

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.

8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.

Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

Its an internet name it adopted at warseer! aararrarara!

I been think about this, the DK said to be like MC big right. Isn't there a small Tatin the "Knight" something or other. GW been pushing more models and bigger models this edtion. So what are the odds with there over the top sytle they been doing latey, of it being the mini Tatin.

Batsignal is to Batman as "Knight Titan" is to Platuan4th

WHERE IS HE?!?

The Dreaknight exists to sell models.

So therefore, it is needed.

I'm sure fluff-wise the justification will be to kill Greater Daemons...

IF if looks cool - so be it!

If not... bleech!

My heart is pure.
My faith is strong.
My will is resolute.
My blade is keen.
My bolter armed.
I am Mankind's finest instrument of death.
Against the Forces of Chaos, even that may not be enough.
By his Grace, I will bring Wrath upon his enemies.
By his Will, they will fall beneath my might.
With this, his Instrument, will the Daemon be purged.
- Brother Samiel entering battle armed with a TKA* suit

* Tactical Knight Armor

Afterall, if TDA is smaller Dreadnought armor, why not just punch it up a notch. Grey Knights are nothing if not pragmatic. There are somethings that even force weapons and Daemon Hammers aren't the best at destroying. Not to mention that if it has an AV it will be immune to small arms fire and poison weapons (Nurgle anyone?) and Bloodcrushers/fiends will hate it.

My assumption is actually opposite to Alpharius'. GK's are already good at killing GDs. Mass Str 6 is good there and the MC rules don't really hurt them if they can get DH and SS. Where as GD's and DP's eat up walkers/AV. I would think of a Dreadknight being used during massive daemonic incursions to deal with large groups of Daemon's. Afterall, a squad of GK's don't really want to charge into a unit of Bloodcrushers or 'letters. That's not going to be fun for anyone. But a Dreadknight? He'll make quick work of them.

I suppose nobody knows if this Dreadknight is expected to get an actual model right away, or if is it just an option in the codex?

My wallet wants to know approximately how much it needs to reserve for this release, and such a model will probably add a fair amount to it

Asking how much your wallet need to keep for the next Grey Knight minies is like asking how much you should pay for a liver transplant. When you really need it, price is not a factor

Umm Storm Bolters default with Incinerators all over the place.

I may be wrong, but I thought GK (right now) had a problem with armor, not with hordes.

Wasn't the GK Dreadnought supposedly the 3rd plastic kit?

Not that a fourth plastic kit would be a bad thing

The best-case scenario is that this thing is more like the District 9 exo-suit (sans bug legs) than the Matrix 3 suit or the Eldar War Walker. It always looked to me like you were riding face-first into battle in one of those. Your battlecry might as well be, "Look at me! I've got great big scary weapons and bugger-all for protection! Shoooooooot meeeeeee!"

Now that´s a pretty stupid argument.

Why not, if they can do the job better with better wargear then why not?

I guess you think our soldiers should hunt enemy tanks with limpet mines or police take down an armed criminal bare handed?
I mean why should they ever take superior equipment to get the job done with more efficiency and less casualties?

How about a metric F-ton of Bloodletters with S5 Power Weapons?

I understand the Chaos player had fun playing it out...

Exactly. Now play out that same scenario with 1 or 2 AV 12/13 Tactical Knight Suits.

Their "Champion" is probably a WS10 S7 BloodThirster, so I don't think he's much worried about a WS5 AV12/AV13 Walker:
- 5 attacks, hitting on 3s
- roll S7+2d6 vs AV12/AV13

That Bloodthister probably hits 3 times, for at least 2 Penetrating hits.

Hope the GK didn't pay much for their super Dread.

BT is a MC and can't attach.

Yet to be determined.

Although I would probably scream bloody murder if GK got an upgrade character hidden MC/walker in their units.
