My three new land raiders and Mantis Warriors took part in a 16,000 point fully painted Apocalypse game on the day of my wife's baby shower. The Mantis Warriors teamed up with their old foe the Salamanders to bring the fight to Eldar and Tau. We have a video batrep in this post.

Nice skin wolf Gits' - picked that model up myself at the UK FW open day. I'm considering getting the other three - maybe use them as chaos spawn for my CSM army!

They have extreme sculpts for every faction (for the most part) these sculpts are bigger than their non extreme sculpts. (The dire troll extreme is bigger than Mulg). They're only available through Privateer's store...

Gits, why have you abandoned us? I have conducted the ritual as you asked, I have placed my firstborn on the altar and offered his flesh unto you yet still you leave us. So now I have decid that I must immerse myself in gits by reading your blog start to finish. Your motivation shall be provided by the sacrifice of [insert something gits likes here].

Seriously though, I lose motivation to paint a ten man tactical squad halfway in so for you to keep painting for almost two years is incredible.

You have what is perhaps the single most inspirational blog on dakka and has kept me entertained since before I joined dakka. and this has charted everything from BLACKHAND's 'Rude Knight' (pure lol

) to your modelling journey (and a suspiciously shaped cactus) so I just thought I'd say...y'know...this.

I'm very flattered Legion, thank you. Your post gave me a very good chuckle! I'd forgotten all about the "Rude Knight" shtick.

I feel like I've been living my life second hand through my minis lately (OK, for two years). Much as I love the hobby, I love my family more & they need more daddy-time. Also, my own inspiration has been flagging... so a break is probably warranted to let me re-charge my batteries.

That being said... I'm hardly gone... I've got 3 different painting projects going ATM (ork, marine & Hordes)... I'm just not doing them in any hurry. The Hordes thing is a nice little dalliance that gives me a mental break from machines, heavy armor and guns... a bit of a creative holiday as-it-were, intended to help me get my enthusiasm back.

Don't give up on me mate... I'm still here. Just .... taking the time to breathe a little bit.

About the skinwolves they have been in a lot of the books from BL. but now they finally have some epic models can't wait to buy some

I think that may be the disadvantage you have in your Adepticon army. Most of us have other chapter, and our Warden army is either new (like SL) or exclusive to the event (like Ice, myself). You've been churning MW the whole time. Different era models, sure, but the same army the whole time. I think a break is deserved and needed. Dont worry, the still to long blog will still be here when you get back.

I have plans for painting on all current projects over the long weekend (have Friday off), especially since the weather on Sat & Sun will be miserable (hot and humid). I was trying to schedule a game for Friday in this local league I signed up for but it looks like that might fall through, which should free up some time.

Keep your eyes peeled!

@wyfox: I have, and they're stunning. They just haven't made my list yet as there are other projects waiting in the wings that have priority. Beautiful figures though.

Rules (slightly modified by YB):

1. Must be a single figure, No vehicles, No special characters etc.
2. Post pictures of your painted Fire Hawk here, in this thread. (Feel free to post pics in the GMS thread, too!) Post must be clearly marked as a contest entry. Actually sending YB the figure is optional. PM if you're interested.
3. Must contain the painting formula. (I'm learning, and I appreciate all the ideas I can get.)
4. Color scheme chosen by the contestant, but must be a Fire Hawk. (No counts as a Fire Hawk, looks like a DA!) Either original color scheme (all yellow) or new Imperial Armour (brown/rust red with yellow shoulder pads) color scheme is acceptable. Variation and individuality encouraged! All details up to the contestant.

Contest closes on July 1, 12:00 midnight US Central Time.

YB will serve as judge.

Prize provided by Solar_lion - value not more than $50 not less than $25 (free shipping).
