It is.
But out of curiosity, would it be any less weird if it was someone else's hair? The best brushes (IMO) are from sable hair, which are in the same family as ferrets and weasels. Is that not weird?
So for purism, I'm going to make brushes from my own hair, from materials that I gather from nature. Anything else would be "Cheating". I'll try my very best to restrain myself from being overly crude or graphic with this project, but the point of it will be ridiculous. It has to be, or else the parody falls apart. Threads like "Is army painter really fair?" or "Is dipping cheating?" crawl under my skin, as it undermines the truth of talent being involved. A person with a magic pencil that can draw whatever they imagine has to first imagine what they want to draw, and are limited by imagination. A person with a can of Minwax polyshade suffers the same problem.
So yes, it is my hair. I'm gonna go pre-medieval on this problem.

Even pre-medieval people used horse hair. But meh.. to each his own. I prefer Mandrill hair personally. You can see I just plucked some new bristles.(he's angry) Gives the brush an exotic feel. Just don't tell anyone about my panda hair brush I smuggled out of China.

And before that they smudged animal fat of cave walls with their fingers.
I live in Texas, and shamefully have no access to a horse.

Interestingly enough, no. No they don't.
Its a funny perception though, one that I get a lot. I've had clients who are surprised by my lack of a drawl, or that I've never owned a pair of cowboy boots or seen a tumbleweed.
I've never even had a saloon shootout.
It must be because I live in the 4th largest city in the US, and pretty much everywhere else can be viewed by me to be a backwater hellhole without all the amenities that I enjoy.
Its good to hear support on the painting thing, because I can definitely see how one could wonder if I'd snapped.
Edit: I sometimes do.

Well, let me preface my answer that the difference between the brush I made and my 10/0 masters touch spotter cannot be told. Which of the models on page 32 was painted with that brush? One of them was, but which?
Pretty good job, I'd say. Just took a little longer, and the mistakes will be corrected on the next brush.
And what does it matter where they came from? Hair is hair. There exists a greater than zero possibilty that they are my pubes, but that's just hearsay! Automatically Appended Next Post: Hearsay that is 100% accurate.

I do not think that Vegans have problem with "People Products" because people can say "Yes" or "No" Animals cannot. It isn't about liking or not liking meat or animal products for the most part, it is about what is given and what is taken, IIRC.

So a Vegan would be fine about eating, say, Bacon, if the pig were able to decide and say "Sure, slaughter and eat me!"?
That would certainly explain the 'Special' at the Resteraunt at the End of the Universe.

If I actually liked swineflesh, then sure, a pig that could give informed consent to be eaten would come under the same philosophical category as that bloke who let the German cannibal kill and eat him.
Speaking of pig type things, it occurs to me that my counts-as-Grotsnik Mad Doc design veers into 'potentially offensive' territory.
Doc Ulkskab is a doctor with a beard who goes around injecting friend and foe with Genestealer phage cells. His name is derived from the Ork words for 'ship' and 'untrustworthy individual'.
I'm planning a complementary Big Mek with KFF and some massive sideburns. Finding the etymology of 'Frederick' to be 'Peace Rule', the best I can come up with is 'Nakrumpnob', meaning 'Not noisy authority'; seems to fit the most senior unarmed defensive unit. 'West' can best be translated to 'Uz', meaning 'sun' - west being sunwise, and east being widdershins. I'll work on Nakrumpnob Uz's design when I've got a box of Lootas with the bitz I'll have available to me.

Update on the progress of my Ninja Turtles. Minimum broodlord squad is 5 with the broodlord, so it will fit perfectly with 4 Turtle genestealers and a broodlord Splinter.
Going to make some bases with goo dripping on the mini adrenal gland/ toxin sac turtles.
Splinter will be the "Queek Headhunter" Skaven model minus the trophy rack and with a weapon swap.

Heres a step by step:
-50/50 mix of dheneb stone and bleached bone, plus a lot of rubbing alcohol (dries faster) gets painted on over the bate gray models. Two coats if neccessary, dries in about a minute anyway.
-Creatix airbrush transparent green. I paint it on, and it dries clear. Gives it that slimy look. It's the same green that I used on the ghosts, only without the glow paint to lighten it. Two layers of this gives the paint a weird depth effect with lots of different hues.
-bubonic brown abs, catachan green shell.
-the muscle slits will be painted the same color as the headband for each turtle. Orange, red, purple, and blue.
The transparent airbrush line from Creatix is really changing the ease that I can paint cool effects. I used to rely on mixing the paints with GW water effects. I'll toss a paint tub in with the models I'm sending you, Jim. Try painting it over a superglue blob, it's how I'm going to make my goo. Same color, but without the whitish undercoat, will look totally different.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, I also mix my paints with alcohol rather than water. It evaporates many many times quicker and so I never worry about gravity affecting the painting. It also allows for the paint to pool the same way as water, but with transparent paint this means the same effect as doing several layers in one spot, without the hassle of painting over and over.
I'm going to try painting a transparent red over a yellow for lava effects, I'll post my results.

Not sure about metalics, but if it's acrylic based paint I would guess a no. No ill effects that I've noticed, but I'm not exactly scrubbing it on, more like flowing it on like a wash.
