So they get the special one time 30" move and then have to foot slog the rest of the game? Or will they get to mini teleport 12 inches in all movement phases?

Has anyone considered the deamon codex special rules for ignoring the effects of nemisis force weapons? Deamons arent going to be SOL on this codex methinks...

Being (former) Daemonhunters players, mostly. :(

How about the Daemon players? Is it really true that the old 'Daemonic Infestation' rule is gone with no equivalent replacement?

I'm fine with the GK being really good at killing daemons. I get it. It's what they do. That's cool. But before, it was a simple case of saying, "I know you're going to kill my troops easily, but you're going to have to kill a lot of them."

I'm trying to remain open-minded and not fall into the usual new codex sky-is-falling trap, but this just seems bad. The GW blog today is like a full page going on about how daemons are going to be stomped. Maybe it's just me, but normal space marines don't need a Dreadknight to kill my Daemon Princes. A bunch of bolters and a couple melta guns seem to work just fine.

In all honesty, as someone who plans to start Grey Knights one of the biggest worries I'd have is facing against Daemons of Khorne. Plentiful power weapons and access to S8 AP3 large blasts in the form of the Soul Grinder, not to mention Collars giving a 2++ against all those Force Weapon wounds.

Even against a unit of Grey Knights with Halberds, a charging unit of Bloodletters will not only outnumber them but also be hitting/wounding on 3's and ignoring saves outright while keeping their 5+. I actually plan to start Khornate Daemons alongside my GK to have a 1st War theme going; if I buy/am gifted with any Dreadknights they'll form some nice basing material for my Bloodthirsters.

1. The Haters be Hating made everything worth it.

2. As for the models, the whole is less than the sum of the parts. But many of the parts are quite good.

3. The TAGK are the best. I don't love the poses, but the details are great, and some of the bits look stellar.

4. Dual wielding falchions in TA seems dumb. The TA silhouette is about power and weight. Dual wielding tends to reflect speed and grace. Does not work visually.

5. PAGK are the opposite. Good poses, but the wrist mounts look awful. Truly awful. Like some of the bits, though.

DK tomorrow, like anyone cares about some random opinion on page 35.

I am a DH and Daemons player. In the leak, I saw nothing of the special rules for Daemons...which just means that we're going to get stomped by Grey Knights for awhile, until we figure out how to beat them. It's doable, and will be done.

I understand the thinking of well you will have 3 guys with halberds one with an incenerator and the sarge with the staff or swords but 2 more stormbolters than you need or can use, to me seems a bit of not thinking ahead or corectly or something.

Also, do the Interceptor squads move as regular infiantry or jump infantry?
Sprues don't work quite that way. You can't always fit a big long halberd, sometimes you can just fit two small storm bolter arms. I think the two combined are smaller than a halberd anyway.

If you've read the 3e Daemonhunters Codex, you'll remember that special rules were given to Daemons when fighting Daemonhunters (specific units were given "Without Number").

I'm so glad the Dreadknight looks nothing like Yet Another Dreadnought and nothing like a "I'm not really a converted Sentinel, honestly" Penitent Engine.

Yes, it looks odd, but no more than a certain recent flying marine vehicle - and this thread has already thrown up numerous easy conversion improvements. I'm expecting to see some _brilliant_ models converted from it.

And it has amazing potential for conversion for other armies too, in particular looted versions for Orks and corrupted versions for Chaos.

Ironically that picture points out what could be done with the Dreadknight if it weren't so static.

I think you're giving them far too much credit when, if I'm remembering right, they were the originator of the $24 Power Armor apothecary bits (now down to $17).

Oh, I'm loving the infantry models, it's the Dreadknight that's complete crock.

I like the infantry as well, but MeanGreenStompa nailed what's 'off' about the PAGK - the collars are too big. That's the one downside to those models (outside of their jumbo-sized novelty Storm Bolters).

And the downside to that kit is 7 Storm Bolters (why?), the fact that the 5th sword on the sprue is always going to be sticking through a Plaguebearer's head, and only 3 Halberds. AHHH!!!

Probably 7 stormbolters because some are weird poses like for wielding halberds. 3 halberds because there just isn't that much space.

Yeah but if you dropped the sword through the head bit(whitch admitidly I dont care for), I bet you could have added another halberd or incenerator.

And if you dropped the two extra Storm Bolters, you could throw in a 5th non-scenic sword!

Also, could someone please take this quote and turn it into a motivational poster with the following quote beneath it:

Hey, has anyone said yet that the Dreadknight looks like the mechs from the Matrix\Avatar, or that it's generally not that well executed?

From Loki in the Penny Arcade WH40K thread:

Haha, contradictory fluff in the same paragraph.

Kaldor Draigo is the Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights and a warrior beyond reckoning. As a lowly Battle-Brother he banished the Daemon Prince M'kar the Reborn and he has risen steadily through the ranks to become the Grand Master of the most secretive Chapter of Space Marines. Yet ever since his battle with M'kar, Draigo has been cursed to a life within the Warp, doomed to walk within the Realm of Chaos. To remain pure when constantly assailed by Chaos shows such fortitude and personal strength that it is beyond measure. But while Draigo lives, he will prevail and one day, he will return.

So he banishes a Daemon Prince, and gets stuck in the warp. While stuck in the warp, he rises through the ranks to be the chapters Grand Master. So like... they just have no Grand Master in real space at all?

It made me laugh.

Bless Mat Ward, fine purveyor of fluff.
