Fantastic as always, where and when can we buy casts of your sculpts?

Not sure. I can probably do the test cast in a couple of days, but I don't have the time or resources are hand to produce a larger amount of casts, not to mention take care of the actual sales. I might have some third party do all the dirty work here.

Okay, so I decided to pull out some dusty Infinity stuff I bought a while ago and go ahead with a project I wanted to do since I first found out about Infinity - Deunan and Briareos tag team. Now a TAG team. Well, Birareos would count for TAG really. If you don't know what Appleseed is, google it, but for the love of God, look for the original manga, not the dreadful movies.

Here's what I got right now - Unxia with Chandra's head makes perfect Deunan. Now to figure out if there's an Infinity mini that can stand in for Briareos or if I'll have to sculpt one.

Good to see you making posts on this thread again.
The Deunan looks pretty good.
Look forward to seeing your Briareos, always loved Appleseed.

Whoops, dunno what that was.

Anyway, I think Ajax will make a decent base. I'd prefer a bit more Aridadna look to it, but I guess I can figure something out and the size is just about perfect.

Right, just bought the Ajax. Does anyone have a part breakdown for that guy? Unxia was the first metal miniature I converted in a long time and my fingers still hurt, the thought of cutting that beefy chunk of metal is filling me with utter dread right now.

Edit: Just found it. Well, there will be sawing but not as much as I feared.

So I'm back.

Took me just under a year to get back to actually doing something with the miniatures I buy, rather than just squirrelling away the things I'm compelled to buy for whatever reason.

Anyway, stuff will happen starting with this

I guess it is

Here's something I just found laying at the bottom of the sprue box. How did I manage to not lose any parts of that project is beyond me.

Excuse the poor photo quality, white resin is not friends with my cam skills.

Not sure if I'll leave him as a vanilla loyalist, or make him into a renegade version. Maybe something in line with the Chosen from the current starter...

The ladies are looking beautiful thus far! The witch elves are fantastic and I think you've matched and exceeded the potential of the kit.

Marine looks great too Renegades are always fun, but I'd be curious to see what you'd do with a loyalist.

Well, the prototype is more or less finished. Now I just need to wait till my new compressor gets here so that I can get my airbrush working.

I learned quite a few things here. The overall proportions are okay, though some tweaking will be needed around the waist area, shoulder pads and arms before I can do a proper master mould. I'm thinking about doing it in 3d and then offloading the printing and moulding to a professional. We'll see how it goes.

That marine looks awesome. How's it compare to a regular GW one?

Fantastic thread HMV, not sure how I missed it.

The upscaled marine looks great! Well proportioned and I love the pose. Kind of a relaxed walk that you just never see.

I'll snap a comparison photo later. He's just about 45mm to the top of the helmet.

I'm very erratic with my updates. This thread spent the last 10 months at the bottom of the pile, so it's no wonder you didn't see it earlier.

If real marines looked like that, I'd have probably started them sooner than my 8th/9th army.

Looks amazing.

I can't seem to find a standard marine anywhere, so a GK will have to do.

Unfortunately, my new compressor is being shipped from Japan. No painting for three more weeks... Guess I'll have to do some more converting while I wait.

I don't really have any IG models to put next to this guy, sorry. All I can manage is a Dark Eldar kabalite warrior or an Empire state trooper. Well, a Witch Elf too, but that comes with a scenic piece of rock underfoot.

I'm close to finishing an upscaled DE warrior for my =I= warband, so that could serve as a good benchmark on how I'm rescaling my models.

Thanks gents.

My compressor is still in the air, figuratively speaking, and I can't be bothered to undercoat my models by hand any more, so we'll have to do with more converting

The first model from the new Warzone range I touched, even though the minis were laying around on my desk for months. It's a Capitol hero I converted to look the way I wanted the Venusian Rangers to look like. Well, more or less. It's more of a test piece as I have a unit of Capitol Infantry I plan on turning into Rangers and I had to try out a few ideas. Still not sure on what the right shoulder armour shape is and the torso armour could use a tweak or two as well.

The leg armour is still missing and he'll be armed with a Gehenna Puker when I'm done.

And now I really want to sculpt my own Nepharite...

Well, here we go. The prototype has served it's purpose and now I have in my possession a Dainton Scale Marine. I know the title says truescale, but I don't know if truescale is a thing, while Paul Dainton certainly is, so that's how I'm going to call my marines. Hist artwork was the first to truly introduce me to the concept of a Marine that isn't a deformed dwarf and as such, will always remain the quintessential visual representation of marines in my mind.

GW, or rather FW, only recently decided to release Marines that match the aesthetic established by Dainton, in the form of Primarchs. But while the models themselves are fabulous, they highlight the terrible proportions of the core troops in ways we have never seen before. And since I got heavily invested in the 30k side of 40k, I simply could not field the future Corax or Perturabo next to a bunch of midgets, not matter how well done.

Now truthfully, this is a MK7. Not entirely suitable for anything Heresy Era. Fret not, this is in fact yet another prototype, although one that I'm not more or less satisfied with and one I can have produced in numbers. I'm going to order a few more of those to keep me going on the modelling front while I finish the Crusader, Iron and Maximus marks. When those are done, the Heresy will start for real.

Mostly, on my phone.

It's very impressive indeed. The only thing I can't tell is whether the right wrist is slightly too thin? SM usually have a cuff there, do they not?
