Finished up the awesome giant bat that Cam made for my Halloween army. It will be fulfilling it's original role and acting as a Helldrake in my EC army. Not a particularly complicated paint job but I think it'll do nicely.

No final pics of the termite conversion but I'll snap one when it gets here Gits! The real thing is an impressive model, didn't realize you could field them in 40k. Should be fun to pop all your murder robots up behind people

I do Theo. Holding off until I get more of what I already own, painted... though I must say I've been making good progress, either directly by painting myself... or by getting some help from my friends.


I have been painting... got 7 servitors done.


This brings me up to 3 complete squads (12) and of course X-101.


I don't actually know what's next. Might have to finally re-open that box of skitarii jumpy dudes... I need something as the boys have been kicking my butt every single game.

Hey guys. Been busy sorting out more gaming stuff for sale. Managed to get a campaign game in with my friend Tyler and got a little bit of scatter terrain painted up.

First things first... just a few shots of my 500 point skirmish with Tyler. My son Alec has been encouraging me to run a board control style of list rather than my usual AdMech heavy shooting list. It was interesting and fun... also ultimately successful in the face of Tyler's very nasty Astra Militarum list out of his Psychic Awakening book. (sorry, some special kind of IG with all hot-shot las guns, plasma & melta guns & power axes. *shudder*

My list as follows...

HQ: TPD
TP: 10x vanguard, 10x vanguard, 5x vanguard
EL: 5x infiltrators w/ mixed weapons
FA: 5x raiders

Table after my first move (I'm on the left). My raiders crossed the entire battlefield and picked off one of his commanders.


They decide to charge the nearest 5-man unit and lose 3 (that's 9 wounds) to overwatch by hotshot las and plasma hitting on 4+.


The remainder fights on for a bit, but is eventually wiped out after only killing 1 guardsman.



My left flank moves steadily forward. Two large vanguard squads with a TPD in close support. I'd never really done this before, usually the TPD is stuck in the back supporting my heavies. This worked out pretty well.


My center. A short unit of vanguard on an objective with a pack of infiltrators as backup/reserves.


Lots of Astra Militarum hanging out in the cover of the wreckage of a flyer crash.


Once the cavalry gets wiped, the guard move up my right flank around some ruins.


In the end, there were just 6 figures left on the table. Luckily they were mine... but it was a really close battle and Tyler actually outscored me on primaries 2:1, though I caught up through the secondaries.


Lastly, a bit of painting. Picked this little supply cache up from Noble Knight Games in one of their clearance sales.... now that I have some paint on it, I wish I had more (it was the last one). Nothing fancy... but it'll look great on the table.

Great looking game, very interesting rep and nice scatter.

That ork barricade is just perfect!

Those are some v snazzy barrorkades.

Would not want to storm those barricades.

I can just hear the Orks manning the barricades sing: "All der lill wing-ems go up! How do they go up, go up? Dey goes up head up, head up, head up up!"

Dats a proper orky wall it is. Nicely done Gitz, now I have some Ultramarines who would not mind storming the gates some day...

Спасибо! Зависит от того, что, по моему мнению, нужно для таблицы. Иногда они «баррикады» и используют правила из книги, иногда это просто местность, которая дает небольшой бонус укрытия (+1 к спасброскам).

Cool barricades and lovely wraithguard. I have a few old metal ones lying around as test pieces but might just base them on some 40s like you have.

@Tyranid Horde: Like most models, I think they look better on the bigger bases.


Here's what I've been working on lately. PITA builds, new flying bases stink on ice. 5 more to go.

They aren't even jump-back so you can't go the "modelled exhaust plume" route. Maybe they would best with the "jumping-off-terrain" route, even though I generally dislike that?

Well, the wings do have small jets. I'll have to think on it.

Maybe you could do a dust cloud downdraft thing?

Are the guns strong enough where you could do flame/chem streams coming from them down on to the base/victims?

Thanks for the good ideas guys. I'll sort it out when they're painted. I think part of my soul has been sucked from my body... all done.

Well, I went ahead and finished the bases. I think I can easily modify them by adding little pin extensions to the top which will slide up in-between the model's body and the flight pack. Ideally, I'd like the bases and models to be completely separate so I can pack them separately.

This was an assembly weekend. Got some pipes industrial bits from the sector mechanicus set done. Also finished up this beauty... a Big Trakk with cobbled-together supa kannon!



Going to get some paint on this baby right quick! I did a pretty poor job of putting the tracks on. Probably just should have purchased some rubber treads, but... what the heck. It looks OK as is. For scale... this is a bit bigger than a trukk. Unfortunately like most FW stuff it's not very points-efficient. For 35 more points you can have a kannonwagon which has a better save, more hull points and better BS (4 vs 5). But, it's a cool model that I've wanted for a long time... and not every army needs to be kitted out for maximum value.

Cobbled together is the best way to build anything Ork. Waaazag approves.

Truck looks great. Some times you just need to let the Rule of Cool dictate model selection.
