So Gits what do you have planned for the near future? Are you going to strip and repaint those Furries or just leave them as is? And where did that lovely mk1 landraider get to?

I'm not sure actually. I can say with absolute certainty that the SW army will stay exactly as it is. I may add a couple of Mark of the Wulfen / werewolf guys for fun IF I can find the parts... but that's it.

I bought a grey knight army that BLACKHAND mostly finished a couple of years back and it's been languishing. I need to paint the power weapons and re-base them, then all the infantry is done. There are several vehicles that go with it that will need some more attention. In any case, I'll work up the infantry & the vehicles that are most of the way done & see where I stand. I want to get it into shape so I can either sell it, or consider it "finished" and keep it for my own uses. In any case, that's all pulled out, organized, have a list written up for it so I know what needs to be done. Now all I have to do is the work (there's like... 40 power weapons... it's going to kill me).

I'm not sure Mantis Warrior-wise. I actually have another Mk-1 LR that is screaming blue at the moment that is a prime candidate for re-painting. I'll probably do the airbrushing on both Raiders simultaneously since I'll have the paints out and can knock them both off at once.

I guess the first real marine project is that Ice Angel sent me a box of his marine vehicles that he wants me to airbrush for him. I don't want to sit on that too long, so I'll probably make that the next priority.


I suspect I'll be painting more orks than anything this summer. Have a local tourney coming up in a couple of weeks and there's a special prize for having a super fluffy army (completely separate from the competitive prizes... so it's not a comp score as such... even though I suspect the criteria look a lot like comp criteria). Anyway, you can participate or not, as it's a separate judging. I want to of course... think I'll expend on my "Gobrobba the Demon Grot of Tzeench" and make kind of a grot/mech army. I'll whip out a small squad of grots, probably with half red face paint or something that will act as his cultists. Perhaps I can even get someone to bring a chaos dex for me so I can add them as official "allies". It won't be a particularly useful unit... and I don't have anything chaossy to actually add to the allied force to make it functional... but it will be fluffy and fun. I suppose I could just run them as gretchin in the short term and worry about making an official allied contingent later.

I wonder if there are some kind of lesser deamons of Tzeench that I could use for runt herds... maybe a blue painted kroot??

Thanks for finding that WyFox, I knew I'd seen them somewhere. Unfortunately those are far from my favorite sculpts. Most look ape-like rather than wolf-like.

And threw together a 1000 pt. Space Wolf army I named "The Call of Fenris" for a little tournament at one of the many FLGS's in my area tomorrow. No time to get my feet wet like the present eh?

Ultra versatile. Everyone underestimates the simple brilliance of mls, and LFS can switch targets iirc. Looking good bro!

Two Grey Hunter (tac) squads, two Long Fang (dev) squads, 3 wolves and a Rune Priest (libby). Very basic but it's kind of what I've got. Should hold up decently enough. They're playing a kind of "no flyers" game this time just to shake it up. You can field flyers, but they don't actually fly (more like jump infantry or skimmers depending on the model). So, lack of AA shouldn't be a factor.

I love MLs even for my own Mantis Warriors. People underestimate them and tend to leave them alone until they dish out enough damage to warrant attention. By that time they've made their points back and then some.

Skyclaws and a logan conversion

Don't have those... this is pretty much what I've got.

I dropped the marine with the wolf standard from each tac squad and picked up an Aegis Line instead. This'll give those MLs some surviveability and most importantly... makes it a Mantis Warrior post rather than a Space Wolf one!

So far Thing 2 and I are doing well. Won both our games vs. Necrons & Daemons. Don't think our point totals will put us in contention for anything, but it's been fun and a good debut for "The Call of Fenris".

One more game to go.
