I commented on one thread, will have to look for the others. I'd like to add wolves to my list.

I have tried, I can't get the streakiness to not be a factor (it's showing brushstrokes). Right now I'm trying with the Jokaero orange, a sepia wash, followed by layer after layer... I'll post my test model tonight, once I've started to get something going with this force, I'll probably make a *shudder* public P&M blog

Well, I guess I don't know for sure until I see what Dee's sent. Don't want to just ask willy-nilly for stuff. I have some SW chain swords, that's about it. I've got some cool werewolf heads coming (a little 13th Co. I know). But other than that I'm bits-free. I guess it'll depend on what kind of fun stuff I want to add to the army.

A third party. Have to check my invoice when I get home. I found two companies that had the same subject matter, but the sculpts of one were much better then the other.

@wyfox: Yeah, I've seen those models on ebay. A bit over the top for my purposes... I just want kind of wild, werewolfy looking SW so they're distinct and easy for (me) to discern on the battlefield.

@vox: If you've got some stuff you don't need, I'd gladly accept them. I don't need a ton, just a smattering of bits so when the whim strikes me I can do a bit of building.

Gifts id be interested in that company as well, I'm looking at doing Bran Redmaw's great company (less yellow ). I think a few mark of the wulfen wouldn't be out of place.

I found that some of the more human of the WFB Beastmen heads were quite handy for Wulfen models, at least the single model I actually completed

Spellcrow, they're advertising on Dakka now... which is how I found them. I can't for the life of me find them on their web site now however... but they must be in there somewhere.

Idk if their site is something I can go to while at work, so I'll have check for their wolf bits later as their ebay store and Wayland games don't seem to have any wolf pieces

*sigh* OK, OK... just didn't have anything exciting going on with my MWs so I thought I'd shake it up a bit.

I'll change it back.

OK, Land Raider. But it's got to wait until I'm finished painting for my next tournament (next weekend).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So, each year I try and give you guys some idea of Independence Day in the U.S. Last year it was boats, fireworks and corn on the cob. This year, it was much more sedate. Just my family this time at home. We spent most of the day working at a Boy Scout booth at a local festival running a couple of carnie games and selling cotton candy. The scouts make most of their money for the year at this one event.

Back at home, I cooked up some of the most astounding fillets you could imagine. Seasoned with Chicago Steak Seasoning which can't be beat. There is NO other proper seasoning for steak! Corn on the cob and cucumber salad... oh, and did I mention beer from the local micro-brewery?? We shot off fireworks in the driveway and then settled down to a good old, all-American Gamera movie!

Couldn't be better!

BTW.... if any of the contest winners want to exchange Mrs. Gitsplitta's home made cookies for a jar of Chicago Steak Seasoning... I can arrange that. Not sure if that's a wise choice on your part... but I can make that happen.

Cheers and happy 4th of July!
Gits

P.S.
I do note that I have only 10 pages to go before I reach the venerable 400 page mark. I hope to have my "penance" i.e. Land Raider done by then.

Happy 4th Git's if it still is over there.

I think I'll stick with Mrs. Gitsplitta's home made cookies, they sound much safer

Did you decide on MW green or tranquillity pattern for the LR?

Green. I'm not all that excited about Tranquility Camo on a vehicle. Doesn't match very well with my fluff about it.

Thanks AK, I agree. Unfortunately, I suspect most marine-based armies will be in the lower tier competitively for 6th edition. Even SW can't compete with the seemingly endless amounts of AP-3, cover ignoring weaponry out there. I suspect marines will be reduced to vanity projects for me from now on. Any tournament army will be Xenos in nature. Either my orks or my son's necrons.

You say that, but CSM stand their own, Dark Angels seem pretty damn nasty overall, and Codex: Space Marines is due an update sometime soonish.
I don't think we'll see GWs golden boys as the underdogs, and if we do not for long.

CSM are not normal marines, and they have the best marine killing weapon in the game. DA are OK, mainly because of their terminator builds. I've never heard anyone say they "fear" DA though. C:SM isn't going to be that much different the DA... yes, you'll have a few tricks based upon certain HQs, but largely codex DA already gives you a vanilla marine army in it's pages... so I wouldn't expect anything revolutionary there.

I could be wrong, but with two 6th edition marine codecii already out... it seems pretty clear to me where things are heading.

SW/IG has been a very powerful combo since 6th started, and with the rise of monstrous creatures who rely on psychic powers, I see runic weapons being very important as a meta breaking army.
