The albino look really works for the shaman. Nice.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Scary scavy! Moody and muddy! Great job!
On a side note, is there something wrong with your photography equip or with my screen settings, the picture looks a little pale.

He's great. I remember seeing the conversion a while back, cunning use of the rat tail.

From a gaming perspective I would personally hate to play against a scavvy gang with a beastmaster, another 3 pets to deal with! It's probably a very solid tactical choice but frankly I hate scavvies and all their bloody pets. Yes I just lost a game to scavvies the other night.

I also really like your bases, I've said before but the way that they blend into the gaming board is really good. I know it's a bit of an unusual complaint, but I really don't like the way that a lot of bases are painted with a black rim or something equally bold, it just serves to frame the model and make it stand out from the environment, same deal with models that are each carrying around a rock to stand on top of or something similar. I think your models have the perfect balance in their basing, you can see it clearly in this month's WD, your three dudes stood on the smokey scenery/backdrop - their bases are scenic without being weird little pedestals and the reduced rim means they fit in with their environment. It's something I plan to emulate.

Nice use of crackle paint, I saw that suggested for basing on a painting blog somewhere recently, it looks really good and I love the stuff.

PS are you really in Poland or just trying to shake off a tail?

Llamahead - The albino looks was inspired by JRN and his Inquisitor Velk....Jakob did explain how he did it but lost me along the way so this is where I ended up.

Baiyuan - Ummmm no idea mate. Just looking at the model and my screen and it does seem a little cooler in the pictures. I have recently bought a new painting lamp which is a colder day lighthttp://www.buybrandtools.com/acatalog/Daylight_Triple_Bright_Table_Lamp.html which is fantastic btw as recommended by okkiW and Steve Buddle.

Bruticus - Cheers mate. Best stuff I ever bought Vallejo Sandy Paste, paint it on going over the base edges and then neaten it up using a cotton bud.

From a gaming perspective I doubt the Scavvies would ever use a beastmaster. He will be a scavvy in the gang and a beastmaster if I ever want one for another gang.

Poland....Oh little flags are a bit random when I post from my phone.

Yeah, daylight bulbs are a must have. I have two of those cheapo ikea desk lamps with the best daylight bulbs I could find in them and I couldn't think of better lighting both for painting and photographing.

I wasn't planning on putting up this really early WIP but seeing as a pic of the gang turned up on the front page of Dakka I thought why the hell not.

This morning I have got some good progress done on the blue tac phase of my scavvy boss!!! I was holding out in hope of a finecast Warlord Spinetail but I need to the boss for a "Confrontation" in September.

Is the back banner too much?

You're really the king of building mutants and Scavvies, Peter! Fantastic job!

My one nitpick would be that the position of the sword seems just a little bit iffy: Maybe the whole lower arm should be rotatet to the left? Maybe you should give that a try before settling on a final position.

Anyway, great to see you're working on something new, mate!

Yggdrasil - Cheers. I've been wanting the boss to have a double barrelled sawn off shotgun from the beginning and the goliath one just wasn't big enough (on the model or next to all the over sized guns on the rest of the gang)! Moment of madness kroot rifles strapped together came to mind - BINGO!

KrautScientist - Oh you are such a flatterer . Not sure about the problem with the arm....it looks alright to me (for something tacked together). The main reason the arm is down is the sword is way to big for him but it looks more manageable resting on the ground. I also want the sword close to the body/over the base so it doesn't break off or be awkward for transport/storage. Plus the thing you have to remember about mutants is arms/legs/necks etc etc can be as twisted and odd as can be and still be right. While this is something new he has been in my head since Spinetail came out. It really feels like coming back to something old but in a refreshing way, also nice to be doing something out of the Dalthus Sector and Inq28 really (though obviously he will make an appearance there too). I'm having fun even though I have a deadline of 7th September.

TheFireDrake - Thanks. Nice getting a compliment from someone in my home town (unless you're from the Preston near Brighton but even then its nice getting a compliment).

demi_morgana - Ah Scavvy brother.....glad you said that. I am really excited by this model and doing the scavvies again for a little bit.

Turska - Cheers man.

Ok so got him built over the last week. I am so happy with him, better than I envisioned in my head when I first thought of using Spinetail. My favourite bit is the "sawn off shotgun" and tiny trophy foot on the banner. Really looking forward to painting him, which I will start later this week. He didn't photo well reflection wise that is why he is in grey scale.

Scarper - I have also had a good idea how to make you. Sorry I mean Skavvy dogs since the wargs are just not doing it for me.

migsula - Aye its strange seeing metal but even stranger modelling with it, I'd forgotten what a ball ache it is to cut up etc. But I do like it as a painting surface.....go figure.

Neil - Yep turning out grubby in paint too. Hope he kicks some ass on Saturday. Though since John is bringing along a frigging ogryn that might be a lot to ask.

Cheers Moltar

I am really having problems with my photo set up....I need to work on it,

My Scavvy Boss is finished....click to zoom in

He hit the gaming table yesterday and managed to down a couple of Kari's Brats with a scatter shell http://spikyratpack.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/confrontation-40000-wasps.html (note that the scavvy boss has stolen a shoulder pad from this gang )

before Neil's Techs took out my entire gang in one turn! http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/1560/318718.page

I'm sure some pics of the game will turn up somewhere...

Malika2 and Tyranidcrusher - Thank you

Yggdrasil - One of the joys of leaving the painting until the last minute...steal ideas, sorry I meant shoulder pad from Kari

It was great fun.... 9 players, no written stats or points...just leaders and gangers WYSIWYG, , 3-4 characters each. Even being wiped out in turn three was hilarious because I have never seen Neil roll so many sixes before.
