Subject: PDH - Odds and Ends - Random 40k and Fantasy Models (Inquisitor Trask completed)
For a while I have been thinking about threats and villains in the Dalthus Sector. But since the Inqvitational and Tear's wonderful Eldar I have been thinking even more about the villains Inquisitors should be facing, rather than just fighting each other. So with that in mind plus Tears and Bruticus as inspiration I have taken knife to plastic and started. I am planning on building and painting these three villains I came up with as contact cards:
I hope that down the line I will be able to have a game with Mind Gnasher vs Virasson and Salia Veeta vs Tsengir. Cordatus has a links to The Butcher via Master Gingrich.
First up Salia Veeta whose parts have been sitting in my bits box for quite a while. She will be accompanied by a once bound daemon host and a dwimmer crafty. Plus perhaps some assassin sorts.
Salia Veeta WIP
whats the base model here ? racking my brains ..

Got the Dwimmer Crafty finished this morning. Really happy how he has turned out. Credit where credits due the mech claw holding the parchment was an idea from JB.
Spoiler:
The left hand from the cultist squad leader was a pain. It was huge...I had to cut it down a hell of a lot. Still quite big but I think its the perfect hand for a sorcerer.
I have now converted all of the warrior priests...happy bunny.
CURNOW - Yep the base is one of the female witch hunter Inquistors
Dreadclaw69- close but it was the one with power mace and plasma pistol
buhonero13 - Nah I am thinking head from the Changling's staff and body of the necromancer or empire wizard - with horror arms. I really see this one as a herald of tzeentch anyway.

Well said Whale. Knock it off PDH, he looks incredible. The hand looks great, just the right size. Those are some mighty tiny wires on the back of his head.
whalemusic360 -I am still working the FW event only priest. He is very intimidating to paint, so much detail. I have completed all the "silver" metal and tonight I am going to paint his apron red and do the leather straps. I hope to have him finished in the next week or so....depends how distracting the internet and planning the next Yggdrassillium outing is.
The Good Green - His hand still looks huge to me, I have to remind myself he is wearing spiked nails on the end of his fingers Yep the tiny wires are important to 40k and the JB illustrations I'm inspired by. The wires are from a thingy out of the back of my last computer....the red/black and yellow wires that connect the hard drive.
Can't quit it addicted!

Salia Veeta looks wonderful, Peter, really captured to concept art.
The dwimmer crafty gent looks ace as well - I really don't think his hands are oversized, especially by GW standards. Maybe a case of staring at your own model for too long as you make it?
It's a shame you can't get bigger pictures up on the blog - you really have to zoom in on the details of your villains to really appreciate them.

yeah, clearly that , don´t worry, it happends a lot, or at least it happends me a lot... anyway, don´t try to change his hands because of the size, they´re perfect indeed
I don´t suffer from MADNESS...
I enjoy it at every moment!!!!!!

Scarper - Thanks mate. I really must take some decent pictures rather than just use my phone. Salia is now finished too....model wise, not sure when I am going to find time to paint her. I am now starting to build three Brats for a Confrontation game we are playing in September.
buhonero13 - Not going to change his hands at all. While I think its big I am quite happy with them.

Confrontation as in Rackham or Necromunda's predecessor?

Part of me says nifty but part of me would love to see you take on some of Rackhams metal sculpts which are still some of the finest produced by any wargaming company ever.

I have been working on this, poor, model that has been waiting for paint since 5th March
No idea as to her character at the moment and I feel like I've been under the influence of Jeff Vader while painting her....not that that's a bad thing. She will be joining Inquisitor Trask's retinue.
The red latex stocking is a test run for my Death Cult Assassin unit....if Total Wargamer ever deliver my Witch Elves. Very happy how using Clear Red has turned out.

Nice work, Peter! Always good to see progress. Obviously not your most outstanding model ever, but rock solid anyway.

Baiyuan - She was fun and quite quick.....always a bonus. Turns out hoods are easier to paint than faces.
neil101 - I am rather happy with the =][= too. All my models on one page...crickey I dare you to do the same with Manufactorium! Salia is sitting on my desk alongside her minions.....I guess I should take some shots of her completed before I paint her. I think she will get some paint in the foreseeable future. I am thinking of renaming the log "PDH - Odds and Ends - Inq28" or possibly "PDH - Odds and Ends - 40k Inquisition/Ecclesiarchy Army." or I guess I could start a new log for that?
Malika2 - Cheers. I'm with you this is probably how they look...but sometimes more OTT works in miniature form. I am not a fan of female miniatures where they are just naked/wonder bra-ed for the geeks.

That's why I like Victoria Miniatures so much, those female models are more convincing and less of that typical fantasy cliche of half naked women in nipple and clitoris armour...
@PDH: does this mean we can expect more retinue members in that style? Would be cool to see a squad of those!
Malika2 wrote: half naked women in nipple and clitoris armour...
You'd want that clitoris well protected though. Sounds like a critical hit.

Malika - It would be nice to have a squad of these but making them would be difficult because all the wych legs are all in running stances other than the pair i've used here. The renegade torsos are also on the whole quite masculine. Plus getting a whole squads worth of elysian lasguns would be very expensive. On the bright side I do have some interesting squad ideas up my sleeve.
B - That video clip is so funny. I'm sure it has been posted before while disgussing the same suject.
I never thought the word clitoris would appear in this thread.

You're welcome!

That's a shame! Wouldn't it be possible to use (Dark) Eldar legs instead, and maybe some different types of guns? I would imagine that despite having a sort of uniformity, the Inquisitorial agents would have access to whatever equipment they'd prefer.
Mr Malika - after my rather negative response and then your suggestion got me thinking about how to make a whole squad. So while I was at work and then when I was having dinner with my mum (and far too many other family members) I was actually thinking about exactly how to do it. Now that I am home I have looked at my left over wych and warrior sprues and what else I got in the Elysian Command kit.
Great suggestion Sir - I think the warrior legs will work and some of the wych legs may work if I build up the bases so it looks like they are stepping or resting a leg on a wall, Arms and lasguns not too bad either as I have 3 more lasguns, a plasma gun and plus a pistol for the sergeant. So as the famous Meatloaf song goes "6 out of 10 aint bad" which is a great start. Now I wonder if I can swap Neil something for his Elysian plasma gun? Then all I would need is a heavy weapon of some sort and two other basic weapons (probably shotguns). Definitely more manageable that I initially thought. Thank you.
Squad Rune will be tunnel fighters from Van Nielsson's World (yep named after Jakob) inducted into the Inquisition
Spoiler:
Supressio System
The Supressio System is often referred to as the Supressio Asteroid Field, comprised of the remains of the Supressio, Ankorg, Mephis and Efesus planetary systems that run like a scar along the coreward edge of the Dalthus Sector. What lay waste to these systems is unknown though some evidence suggests these system were destroyed shorty after the Horus Heresy. These systems are also referred to as the Lost Worlds. The only intact and permanently inhabited planet within the Supressio Asteroid Field is Van Nielsson’s World and so only the one place within the Supressio System that has a regular Imperial Navy presence.
Within the Supressio Asteroid Field there are a multitude of mining bases on the larger asteroids and small habitable moons. The value of the space mining is immense so the dangers of being so far from patrolled Imperial space are worth the risks. The Supressio Asteroid Field is a haven for pirates, outlaws, the dregs of humanity and even some xenos species.
Van Nielsson's World Mining World
Van Nielsson’s World, is the only intact planet within the Supressio System, a productive mining world on the outskirts of the Dalthus Sector. Since colonisation the planet has been ruled by the Van Nielsson Alliance. The Alliance employs vast labour gangs and are experts in all standard mining techniques, often hiring personnel to mining colonies.
Due to it being the only world within sub light travel of the asteroids in system, it has close links with Mining Colony Delta 654 and the other smaller colonies in the system. The majority of mined produce passes through Van Nielsson’s World before going out into the wider Dalthus Sector. Due to this the Administatum have set up assay offices on the planet so the right imperial tithes are paid.
The Imperium has set up two penal colonies on the asteroid moons Elmina and Gor’ee. Those incarcerated work in ore processing factories before the refined ore is shipped out to other systems.
Mining Colony Delta 654 - Supressio Asteroid Field A collective of mining stations run by the UMC (United Mining Colonies) based in the asteroid fields of the Supressio System. The name originates from the first colony designated Delta 654, whose leader developed relations with the neighbouring colonies to provide joint protection and support in these far reaches of space. Since its establishment more colonies have joined until it became a cartel in its own right. Relations between the Van Nielsson Alliance and the UMC are cordial but on occasion conflicts have arisen over mining rights and transportation links.
Neil - Can I swap you something for your Elysian Command Plasma Gun and the arms that go with it?

Looks nice Peter! Bravo dude, subtle too. You can clearly tell the models a female without all the usual hallmarks of a fantasy female character (aka standard long flowing locks and massive gratuitous rack haha not that those are bad things mind!) I also love those Elysian drop-troop lasguns, much better looking than the standard issue grunt ones!
You can have it if I can find it mate. I will take a look today if you still want it.. I am pretty sure its still around , I did chop up one though a while back..
As for monkey take no notice , he has space dementia ..
