Finally got my camera reader today... thankfully it works! Don't have much time for posting or other stuff today, getting ready for a tournament tomorrow. But I thought I'd throw this up there:



The maulerfiend is painted now, and looking really sweet. Also I have another hellbrute counts-as ready to be painted, and more forge ghouls to add to the swarm! The plan is for another maulerfiend/forgefiend, and then probably a helldrake counts-as conversion. Good times!

sometimes i am a bit hesitant to open your thread.... you definatly chuck out the stuff of my nightmares are made off... do you watch nightmare on elmstreet for referrence regularly?

the muted tones with those small colorful highlights inbetween are really menacing looking!

Actually that's one of those movies I've never seen I've seen a lot of weird and scary films though.

Yeah the forge ghouls are re-done, definitely more muted, more of a chiaroscuro thing going on. Very happy with it. Everything will get proper photos eventually.

had to look up chiaroscuro ... but then... definatly that!... and nightmare on elm street is probably the wrong referrence too^^...

tho atm i don´t have a fitting one^^... no... maybe pan´s labyrinth? tho i don´t like that one^^

Thanks guys, I'll have more pics up soon. I don't use it as a defiler but I did use some defiler parts of course. In most of my games I'll probably just use him as a forgefiend... which is a shame since I have to take off those great tentacles.

Anyway I'm working on a commission now so my daemon engine progress might be slowed... and next item... is definitely a helldrake. The rules for it are just too good not to build one. And I love using the typhus model! He never dies.

the exhaust pipes, and the shin armor pieces plus the feet are plasticard. Also his nail extensions... but besides that it is greenstuff, tubes, wires and bits.

First the finished maulerfiend: the arms are magnetized and will be replaced by the hades autocannons, but haven't gotten around to that yet.











And this is the commission I'm working on, It's a custom chapter loosely based on an owl theme. Still WIP, and suggestions are welcome! the shoulder pads still need fabric and some other details need finishing. Trying to make them look stealthy with the robes, the idea behind these guys are that they are stealthy and night-fighters beyond compare... because of their small numbers they only fight battles where they know they have overwhelming superiority, and their enemies usually never even know they are being hunted until it's too late... therefore the long range weaponry and advanced optical systems.

Man! That Maulerfiend is insane! The owl chapter are off to a great start as well, I like the helmet mods and shoulder mounted weapons.

Man I love your stuff. Do you take commissios? In particular something smaller?

That maulerfiend is intense! Much cooler than the GW sculpt. Owl Marines are off to a good start.

Time for more updates!

Here is the whole group... a Hellbrute with multimelta (arms are magnetized), 40 more forge ghouls (getting me to a total of 60), and two Abominations... counts as chaos spawn, converted from Isle of Blood rat ogres. They are pretty much select humans (perhaps astartes or made from astartes geneseed) that have been gene bulked, enhanced, doped and mutated beyond all reason.











And this is one of my forge ghouls that I spent a bit more time on to make him look special (could be a champ I guess).

those ratogres counts as hellbrutes look very cool...i like these a lot!

Fantastic conversion work.
Loving all the cables and tubes as well as the rest of the details.

@TaWaagh: Mixture of greenstuff and procreate in some places, rolled out very thin.

I knew you would nail the design of those spawn. The rat ogres look great in your force mate. Very creepy.

Thanks! and I wouldn't have done it without getting the idea from your blog and ebaying to see what kind of good ogre bodies I could get. I'm still on the hunt for those chaos warshrine ogres when I get around to it! But not for awhile, I've recently received 4 more conventional spawn bodies to continue in the other style.

The bits used were the dark eldar tentacle arms (talos I think), and necron parts to make the mechanical spine.

Planning to paint them up as if their blood has been replaced with a white fluid, and there's the one that has his guts hanging out revealing a part organic/part cyborg innards. The idea being that to him its just a bit of a scratch

Thanks buddy, and the white fluid ala Bishop idea sounds sweet. Look forward to what you do with the official spawn as well. As for the Warshrine mutants Im thinking I may not actually use them now as Ive just built some Raptors and Im planning some bikes for my FA slot. If youre interested in taking them let me know.
