I have extra funds from selling warmahordes armies. I may be absolutely crazy, but I think I'm going to spend the money to buy all the bits to build a complete custom seraphim squad as seen. I keep looking at these three as I build the rest of the DE stuff to make DCA, and I'm just thinking it will look TOO good on the table top.

No, they were 50 and 11/11/10.
They lost the extra FP and gained another normal one. They gained SoF and lost the free searchlight.

I used some of the Chimera sprue, although they are puny compared to the real thing. In size, only the Vindicator's siege shield comes close.

I've seen someone give the advice to "always assault" againt Tau, and I must say: DONT RUSH IT, take a look, and think before you do it.

If the see that the unit you plan to charge is surrounded by others, the overwatch will hurt, alot.
If you attempt to assault crisis suits with only a handful of sisters (say 2 sisters per suit) you WILL lose combat, and you are not even assured to do any damage.

New repressr seems sweet. cheap front 13 transport is quite a boon for the point-blank army the sisters is.

Last and not least, Kbob your conversions are freaking AMAZING. they look MUCH better then the GWS models.

You really want to screen your units with a vehicle/big thing before charging so you can't get overwatched by every single unit close by.

Same - I had a print out with me the other day and one of the guys at my FLGS freaked out, thinking the Sisters "finally got a real 'dex". It was amusing

On a side note, between the new Repressors and the Striker Fighter, I may actually need to start looking for FW friendly events...

SOBC5C should also include the Aquilla Lander and Arvus Lighter, because while it is unlikely to be used by many, if any Sisters users - they are units available to the army.

It's quite sad they discontinued the aquila lander. Even if it was quite useless in the game except for special scenarios.

Ok, out of interest for a certain project that will remain unamed - would this be correct for all the units currently, legally available to the Sisters of Battle?Furthermore, for some seperate, homebrew stuff - are there any old characters from previous editions that people would like to see updated in a sisters extended fandex, or ideas / concepts of units to be put into such a project?
So far on my list to do is:
Some sort of Repentia based HQ that makes Repentia available as troops,
Possibly some sort of Sisters bike squad,
Possibly some sort of Sisters Vindicator (why - because why not, I think a vindicator with Fleur-de-lis on it would be cool!)
Some sort of ecclesiarchy attack / support buggy based on the Tauros (inspired by a friends unit)
Some sort of repentia-specific assault transport? (next to no armour, open topped, fast tracked vehicle with no guns?)
Let me know if any of the above is just plain dumb or unsisterly, etc?

Helena the Virtuous and Saint Praxedes would be nice? ;p

I dont know if I like the new repressor rules. I know how effective AV13 spam is (I run that in Necrons), but the side armor is still 11. It's a double costed Rhino. I mean, if you want your ladies to get somewhere, sure. Maybe better for back field, but I'd rather bring more fire power with Sisters*.


*played like 5~6 games with them, but won heartily.

Off the top of my head, the list in the spoiler looks pretty solid to me.

As for concept units? I would love to see some sort of bike squad and I would love some more heavy-duty imperial navy flier that could carry a PE into battle. I'm sick of seeing blood angels ships flying around dropping death company dreads off everywhere... I want to fly in Penitent Engines and air-drop them! Flames-spewing, circular-saw blades spinning, screaming hymns, dropped as a living bomb right into the heart heretical forces... yes please!!!

F that. I want a cannon that fires PE at folks. Or exploding drop pods. After all, why do the charges just pop the hatches. Why don't they POP the hatches?

Allies question: I've been so fixated on the rest of my slots that I forgot IG have more than manticores as Heavy Support options...

Has anyone used, or have any thoughts on, taking a pair of Colossi? Or any other recommendations? With all of the cover flying around these days, and the almost certain surge of eldar jetbikes we're about to see... S6 AP3 large blasts that ignore cover seem REALLY good (not to mention against Tau and anything nurgle).

What about pairing a griffon and colossus to help target the colossus blast? Not as sold on this idea as just taking 2 colossi...

And to make my life even more difficult... should I even be bothering to consider Leman Russes? I have not because, between Exorcists, the Vendetta, Marbo, and Melta BSSs I don't seem to have tank/armor problems... but who knows!



But really, is the manticore really the end-all-be-all for IG allies, or should I take 2 colossi in the slot instead?

Colossi might be nice, but we have a lot of flame so cover ignoring isn't usually a problem.

I dunno, weight of flamer fire works against a bunch of things... but AP3 ignores cover seems so shiny.

Have you put any thought into how to deal with 30 eldar jetbikes flying around the place? I have faith (no pun intended) that dominions or seraphim can mop up 1 or 2 units, but then the sheer weight of fire is going to take them down. 2 Large Blasts seem to be a solid solution... but I also do not see a lot of colossi in many lists so I'm curious if I'm missing something...

It certainly isn't a bad choice. I haven't run into them yet, so can't say.

If we're making units up now, I always liked the faith element and wanted it to play a bigger role. Not just as a special rule, but in the models. Like a "prayer squad" in the elite section. Like a PBS for sisters, but they can dispence 12'' buffs for rerolls and invulns and stuff. And something better for the hospitalier, not just a gal in the retinue squad. Blood Angel style.
