Tbh I'm really not bothered, as long as they are shipping airmail I'll be happy. Okay I won't be devastated if its all sent surface, but the extra 7weeks delay might be a bit of a drag.

In general I didn't expect anything from them regarding who gets what first, I would have expected the US to get it first as its local. A week delay on shipping isn't all that bad really, and as to selling product at Gencon.

Well they have it, lets see, 'hey we can leave all this at the warehouse and make nadda, or we can start selling it to make money and let some folks get in on it who missed the kickstarter' I'm really wondering how long that call took. Like Forgeworld these guys are a small operation, if they have all gone to Gencon, who was going to be posting out the international orders again?

As far as I'm concerned, all my rewards for backing them, will be via the loads of extra mini's I'll be getting your standard buyer won't be.

And to put it as simply as I can: That's the not the point I've been making.

I don't mind waiting to get mine. I order so much stuff from overseas that I'm used to waiting a while for things to arrive. It doesn't bother me. What does bother me is them shipping to one region only, and then leaving the rest for later and then going on to sell copies retail. That's what annoys me.

As I said before - a first come/first serve basis would have been far more 'fair' an approach. Start with those that pledged first, and work your way to the end. Normally when someone makes that sort of suggestion its because they happen to benefit from such an approach, but again, I'd be waiting until last, as my pledge went in on the third-last day. But, as I said, I don't mind waiting.

yeah,
@Paulson Games - are you ignoring the fact that they have already said everyone is getting their stuff sent in two separate shipments?

US customers are told their Tshirt will be sent in the second wave with the extra characters.

In fact using your example they could possibly save money by sending the tshirt in the second wave to the Rest of the world, if doing so keeps the first wave under the 10lb weight limit you quoted.

Rubbish. I know that Kickstarter uses this legal fiction to justify standing aside from any disputes, but neither CMoN nor the customer actually believe that is true. It's the same sort of nonsense as pretending the game isn't liable for customs duties because it's a "gift" being sent to you in return for your "donation" to CMoN.

Not rubbish. That is exactly what you signed up for like it or not.

Also, I'd like to reiterate: I'm a US customer and I don't have my game yet. I have to wait until after GenCon for the shipment. Not at all mad about that (a little jealous, perhaps). Nor am I mad that they are selling retail copies at the biggest trade show of the year. I would frankly think them idiotic if they didn't.

Everyone will still get their toys early, even international customers. Expected ship date on the first wave was September, remember.

This is a non-issue that you guys are freaking out about like children.

If that's the case then I expect the customs declaration to say that my zombicide stuff is a free gift so I don't have to pay any duties. After all, I didn't buy a product, I donated money and they then appreciated my donation with this free stuff!

I'll be sure to pass on a bill for my customs fee to the right people if there has been some kind of terrible mistake and they have put down that I have actually purchased these items.

What "word" aren't they keeping?
They promised you the game by X date. If you have it by X date, then they've kept their word. Anything different and you're putting words in their mouth and expecting extras.
If the game was in the states now, but no copies had been sent, yet the company was taking copies to GenCon to sell, I wouldn't like it. I'd be very disappointed. Under no circumstances would I call them liars, though, as the only promise they made on when *I* would have my game, not when *others* would have theirs.

For the record, if this game was coming out of Germany or the UK or Australia, and the company was sending copies out to backers in their own country first, *I* would not have an issue with it. As has been said, it's a bit of a logistical nightmare to send all those games out to backers outside the US. It's not as easy as boxing it up, slapping on a label and shipping it. Each one of those boxes has to have a Customs form filled out for it. Those things take time.

Customs forms ask for the value of the item, not how much you paid for them. At least, the ones that I have dealt with have.

I've just double checked and any gifts over £40 are liable for VAT, but not liable for charges unless the item is worth over £135 (unless the duty is calculated to be less than £9) - the minimum kickstarter buy-in of $75 is ~ £47, so some vat will have to be paid by anyone in the UK if the item is registered as a gift.

If the item is sent not as a gift, VAT would have to be paid on anything over £15.

Aye, Zombicide might cost me a pretty penny when it arrives, that was one of the things I really liked with Sedition Wars, bringing the stock over here first then posting.

You know there is this little thing call bulk mailing. USPS and FedEx both have lower rates for mailing in groups of 50+. And don't expect any frills, you'll all be getting your stuff on a slow boat across the ocean. They only said it would be mailed out by August 20th, not delivered on August 20th.

Welcome to marketing hype, you guys bought in without reading the fine print and made assumptions on when you would get it. Remember, you got these sets at a nice discount already. That they have some copies on sale on Gencon shouldn't matter. There are a ton of premiums, exclusives, and pre-releases there. There have been plenty of things I have pre-ordered from other companies that were on sale there before I got them.

You shouldn't be surprised, it is fairly standard in the industry.

I don't think anyone was expecting their stuff hand delivered by the President of the company arriving at their house in a solid gold limo, while the Red Arrows flew stunts overhead. Simply posting stuff to the ROW at the same time as they did to the USA would have been nice... nevermind if it took a couple more weeks to get to us because it was sent via the bowels of some tramp steamer which stopped at every port in the world.

I wish I could ditch the T-shirts for just some extra zombies and have it sent out sooner.

The t-shirts won't be in my size anyway so it's no great loss for me.

yeah,
I felt that with people recieving the game two weeks ago being told that I'd get it in September was a bit of a joke.
I decided that CMON did not deserve my money.

I messaged them I wanted a refund and they gave it to me. Very very easy.

And Boom I'm out. Refund accepted.

Loving the game so far, I can understand the impatience but they are still within their promised delivery window. Not sure what I would do but I am happy with what I spent/got/have yet to get.

Do you guys play that spawn points are shut down if a survivor is standing on it?

Has anyone beat Mission 1 without cheating or changing it at all? We have played almost all the others mostly with success but Mission 1 always gets us... and always when we are soooo close.

Anyone painting or using them for themed battles in other games? We have a plague planet hot drop mission planned for our GK in stormravens onto a board filled with 100 zombies and their nurgle masters...

I got the full deal with extra tiles and cool stuff next year (or sooner) and I have to say that 18 tiles can make some really cool looking levels... we are planning to play with 9 survivors on 18 tiles in a custom mission involving lots of plowing cars through piles of zombies and other good family fun. As soon as we complete all the book missions we will finalize the custom mission ideas we have... 3D terrain is going to wait for the expansion next year because 40k projects are occupying available project table space until probably January anyway...

Project Update #64: T-shirts are in! Shipping resumes!

We finally got the Zombicide T-shirts today (all 8000 of them), which were apparently super suspicious looking and required X-ray scanning (thanks Homeland Security!).

shipping has resumed and our goal is to get everything out the door by early next week! Tracking numbers will be uploaded in batches, so please don't panic if you don't immediately get one.

--------------

Look at that... the shirts showed up, everything will be shipped prior to Sept as planned. Those guys are keeping their word on what they stated they'd do, what horrible bastards

Just got this e-mail:

We're still packing (both domestic and international), with tracking numbers going out either Sunday or Monday as the packages get scanned. We may be a day or two late but should have everything out by Tuesday (we hope). Hang in there, just a little longer now!
