I'm so glad this horror show is over. I love seeing this game selling for 35.00 on Miniature Market.

Why? Pure spite?

I wish we had had a sculptor that had the balls to do what the Kingdom Death creator did and I think this simple line says it all.

Sculptor had nothing to do with it. It was Poots, the owner of the IP. Mike McVey would have been the Poots of sedition wars and he deemed the models fine (which they are). They have plenty of detail and are fun to paint.

I mean, if you're into schaudenfreud, have at it. But at least have decent reasons beyond an "in your face" spiteful attitude.

Edit: I read your post again and I don't think spite is what you are going for, but I really don't understand the joy of seeing it going for $35 bucks at miniature market.

I believe he was going for sarcasm. As in "We paid over 100$ for this pile and now it's being sold for 35$. Well that's fantastic!".

I got my last shipment in and these models are horrible. Especially the Serenity crew. Tiny. No detail. Half of them are missing faces. Such a shame. The models do paint up well but getting them to that point is ridiculous. Especially when these were being pushed as the second coming of wargaming miniatures!

Maybe if they had just said "Hey we're pushing out crappy board game models" I wouldn't be so dissapointed. But these models are beyond what the average board gamer is used to. My brother in law for example is a HUGE board gamer. He wanted nothing to do with assembling Sedition Wars. He's used to push fit models at most.

From the mind of industry legend Mike McVey, and created by the finest artists, miniatures sculptors and game designers, the contents and play materials of the game are of the highest quality.. Sedition Wars : Battle for Alabaster represents the best that miniatures gaming has to offer!

The best miniatures gaming has to offer indeed.

Was going to post something very similar.

The rules were in really shaky shape when the game came out, but they're doing pretty well now. That was on their heads (even though the rules were contracted out AFAIK), but I don't really believe people should be punished for the past and they seemed happy with the rules as they were. The initial V2 rules revisions were a shitstorm but I also get the impression that that wasn't entirely under their control (see below).

Regarding model quality, there's actually a pretty large practical issue you missed, though, cincy- Poots produced his game, Mike didn't: when you're partnering with a producer or publisher, you as the author/creator/whatever don't necessarily get the final say. For all we know, Mike could have wanted all the minis in glorious SMV resin or maybe in edible gummy form but CMoN said no. Mike's repeatedly expressed regret that he didn't have more control over the process...

From everything I've read and experienced, Mike's a good guy who got in over his head with a project he's quite personally invested in, while I'm unhappy enough with CMoN that I probably won't buy anything from them again, except maybe if SMV stays in that contract

Well, based on my tracking info my stuff should be here on Saturday or so. Looking forward to getting this wrapped up. Got a few extra models that I'm looking forward to converting and playing with. I'm at least mildly excited.

Did you get some THI suits? Curious about what you think of them, and what size they are (terminator sized?) when you get your box

The link above shows them compared to a space marine.

Ah... thanks for the link. At first glance they don't look that great, unfortunately :-/

I don't like working with that plastic, but the shine and ugly mold lines makes the material very unphotogenic. If you clean up the minis properly (which does take more work), I think they end up looking fine, and paint up well.

Wait.. Wasn't that THI suit $15? $15 for a space marine-sized restic model? I'm starting to feel a bit ripped off.

To be fair, it is bigger than the space marine. The space marine is on a slotta base.

True, but $15 still seems pretty steep for that... hopefully more pics make them look better, but I'm really glad I didn't go in for the 10 or so I had considered, now.

I think we all looked at the THI suit and assumed it would be bulky terminator-sized. To be fair, it's super-bulky by SW standards.

I recently got my tracking number and it's under 2-day priority mail with $50 insurance. Nice of them.

I think I got enough to make a 5 man Space Hulk squad, but do not remember for sure. I guess if/when I ever get the package (with or without a shipping notice) I'll find out.

But you are right, I would not consider that a $15 figure, even if it is bigger than a space marine.

Of course the Cylon Chick figure isn't worth what it costs to ship it let alone what I paid for it if the pictures I've seen are any indication.

Me to! I checked the link comparing it to a Space Marine, and that model is SO much smaller than I was expecting. Grrr......... I first saw the Gnosis suit, and thought "Hmm, that's pretty small. I hope the THI is bigger. And then when I scrolled down and saw the THI, completely alone in my house, I audibly groaned. Yet another step of regret. I was expecting something at least the size and bulk of a Grendlr, if not more.

Unfortunately, I think the misconception is that the KS campaign shows the old resin model on its terminator-sized (40mm?) base, not the 50mm large SW base

I'm very happy with the THI suits. Love em, want more to magnetize(didn't think about it until I already assembled my three). Weren't we supposed to get a Cthonian clone card this time around?

I ordered 10 of the THI suits. So we'll see if I'm happy with them or not once they show up....The idea was they could be an Ogryn squad for me if built the standard Sedition War models into a smaller, specialized IG army. Which I might still do, they paint up pretty well, the models I've gotten so far.

That THI image doesn't make it look like it's cast very well, either. Argh, this is so aggravating, thank god I only bought one of them.

Slowing down for Quality
He's switching from the horrible plastic we got with Sedition Wars to the exact same plastic GW uses because he was unhappy with the results.

Well, it's more producer rather than sculptor. Kev White did a lot of the SW sculpts, and they were pretty much all done before the KS anyway. But yeah, I agree with you. (Except the discount thing - though I think that's about what it's worth, so c'est la vie).

I resemble this remark. That model is awful. On reflection, I think this puts the final nail in my going in on Wrath of Kings.

I got a shipping notice from BattleFoam saying "Zombicide" which got me quite excited thinking I could play it this weekend.

When it arrived it was just a small bag with a single Sedition Wars figure - Aha, my missing Dokker Vargu (or whatever his name was), I thought!

No, it was another Cyber Akosha for some reason (just mispacked, I assume).

CBA to complain, but a bit cheesed off

So anyone elses quantities completely off on their shipment? Cause after going thru mine I'm missing almost $125 in add-ons. Those being 2 additional Gnosis suits, 5 of the 10 THI suits I ordered, and a set of baby drones. It's mildly annoying to have this issue at the end of all of this....

Oh, and I don't mind the thin Hexen, she's super delicate but I think it'll actually paint up better that way. However, some of the Calamity Crew does seem a little off on the scale, even internally, and the amount of flash on the additional Pilot model is simply ridiculous....

And I was under the impression that the drones came with stand or bases. What's up with that?

Wow, that's pretty terrible, about how much they screwed up that order.

Also, that sucks re: drones, if that wasn't just a mispack. The contents pic didn't show them, but the concept sketch certainly had the same sketched circles under their bases that regular models do.

Apparently I ordered 3 THI suits, under the misunderstanding that they woudn't be tiny or badly cast, and that they would be good models.

Ah well, never again.

The only paid adding I got was the calamity crew and they were all there. I am missing Keegan though.
Have they mentioned where to email about mispacks?
