Really like that sculpt!

Sure beats the crap out of the trolls that GW are releasing this month, anyway!

Wow, very impressive.
Are they releasing the sculptors names?

They don't generally release sculptor names, but that's a Remy Tremblay sculpt, you can tell from the photography and the use of fimo for the bulk of the sculpting.

Considering the size of his beatstick? I'm sure it beats the crap out of whatever it wants to.

Awesome troll! Yay - I'm getting 9 of those too.

Gonna have a big unit of trolls in my N. Goblin army now - and I'll be able to sell the metal GW ones I bought for a healthy profit.

I just hope the unit has a healthy bit of variety to it.

Mantic is really on a roll with their kickstarted goods. The Ogres, Angels and Trolls - I've yet to be disappointed.

Runnin up on ya.

That is one awesome Troll.... I am absolutely loving these sculpts.

I generally try to not be anti-GW but they're going to have to bring their A-game to meet the quality of Mantic's new models.

If you look very closely, you can see that there's clear join lines at the shoulders and the head, so it looks like separate arms and heads for these guys.

The shoulder/ neck armour on the model overlap the join lines and hide them!

Thus why he's "knuckle dragging". Not every monster in fantasy has to have human proportions.....take our cousins the apes for example..

I know! This doesn't match actual troll anatomy at all!!!

Yeah, the legs are on the small side but the models still look great!

Not as small as the legs on Privateer Press' dire trolls (I know, I have a bunch...).

Well, OK. Maybe similar in size

But man, I love the aesthetic of both the trolls and the ogres. I loved the art, too, but couldn't commit to them without seeing any WIPs.

I feel bamboozled. Mantic tricked me with terrible models for a few years so I didn't even give their KS a second look.

It's troll physics. No mystery. Looks good. I have 15 coming in. I agree-GW needs an A-game for sure. These new sculpts...better than most of the recent GW sculpts. Chaos. Need I say more?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Yeah, this was always a risk... one that has appeared to have paid off spectacularly with the quality of the sculpts!

Cannot wait for my legion of plastic to arrive... I really need to take a year off to paint!! (And a display room!)

They should. I always thought it lacked class when GW stopped listing the sculptor's names in the pages in the back of WD. Let them know this for me, SS~!

Great looking Troll, love the scraped together armour, the angle guy on the previous page is outstanding (even if hes armless) so many tidy and clean little details. I Very much look forward to seeing the warroir nuns,
I forget their names (never a good idea to forget a lady's name ), have'nt been very impressed with Mantics female sculpts so far to say the very least, but if the current sculpting standerd is anything to go by they could end up being a pleasant surprise.

Y'know when this Kingdom of Men armie comes out I'm going to have to sculpt up a Knight of Solaire miniature to lead them into battle, somehow I think it would be rather fitting.

Arrrgh I shorted myself on the Trolls (still getting 3 for free) to have a huge Celestine force, but dammit if I don't want a whole bunch more of those guys!

Very very nicely done!

Only thing with releasing names is that people can get really, really bitchy about particular sculptors online. I've lost count of the number of personal attacks on Bob Naismith I've seen over the years including numerous "demands" for him to be fired, completely ignoring his awesome work on the Undead and Orc ranges. And that's nothing compared to GW fans and Trish Carden. I don't see how it helps, it's nice to know, but I can see why the sculptors would prefer to opt out if they want. It doesn't affect their professional or freelance work at all to remain uncredited as it'll all be in their private portfolio when applying for new work anyway, even if the general public doesn't have a clue about whether person X did sculpt Y.

It seems that what they do currently is allow the sculptor themselves to choose what level of publicity they want, by giving them the option to talk about their work on their blogs (which Remy does all the time).

I'm fine with that, it might have worked back when WD was a B&W TSR fanzine, but these days with people being a click away on facebook after you have access to their real name, privacy is a much more attractive option.

That's because everything these days comes 'fresh from the warhammer forge' !

That sculpt looks awesome, like some kind of mental-shrek on steroids!

We have? Crap. I must have missed them-do you know where I can find pictures, I'd love to see them. Or maybe I have and I've forgotten...old age is beginning to set in and all that.
