The biggest letdown is that it doesnt contain any new cool terrain.
In the past I have bought box sets just fr the terrain even if I didnt play/need the models included.
Really no motivation for me to buy this at all.

Yeah the lack of terrain of anykind is a bit of a letdown, especially because of the inclusion of buyable terrain in the rules now.

Nurgle will probably be either +1T or FnP,
Tzeentch: 5+ ward,
Slannesh: +1 I
Khorne: Rage or Furious Charge, or both.
I can see Slaanesh being good. 30 guys, each with 3 attacks on the charge for 90 attacks at initiative 4 can do quite a bit of damage.

And your point is?
GW is at the pinnacle of their terrain kit production currently, having put out some amazing kits in recent years. Putting in some cool plastic terrain unique to the box almost seems like it would have been a given at this point.
Your eye roll was touching though...

Exactly, 3rd had the little wall segment and some crummy trees, 4th had the lander, so they've done it before. I could just image some very simple terrain that fits with the story they've put this edition in with as you mentioned. But alas..
But hte models are not a let down, you get 2 HQ options per force, 3 if you're DA player and get the LE box. Plus they've got all the FoC covered with Bikes ( FA), and Terminators (Elite) and the Chaos Dreadnought ( HS) with the standard Troop unit.
I do like that it's not the Ultrasmurfs this time around either and one of the terminators has a HW option, and that particular option is currently available on the DA upgrade sprue to just to point out.

I have no complaints about the models included, they just arent of any interest to me. If the box had other goodies (ie. terrain) I would have purchased (as I have in the past), but as is, I really have no use for it.

I hope 10 Termagants, 6 Genestealers, and 8 Spore Mines didn't require divine intervention, but to each their own. I still have the spore mines in a baggie somewhere if you need more intervention. I feel holy today.

If you read the description of it in the rulebook, they're trying to turn it into a general Imperial fortification. Dark Angels are mentioned as using them during the crusade, but now it's just a general Imperial thing, even the dark angels iconography just being 'images of angels of death'.

There's only one thing that bothers me about this boxset, the bare heads on the DA Tactical and Ravenwing sergeants. I can't stand bareheaded marines, chaos marines sure they're a bunch on loonies but Space Marines should not go in to battle without a fething helmet. It's almost as though they want to get shot in the head. Oh well atleast I've got enough bits from previous marine armies to be able to give them helmets.

Hellbrute's rear end looks a bit disappointing. No big deal. I can paint swirly things, or some scripture. With chaos, even the ugliest free-hand looks ordinary!
Oh my gosh the Lord looks fantastic. I'm amazed. It really looks like finecast or something. I'm really, really hoping this is what GW goes for with the new CSM, if any are coming. I've heard pitter-patter of a new basic chaos marine box, which sounds too good to be true.
